Era nell’aria….e lo era da un pò di tempo….cosa che probabilmente si pensava anche a cercare un sostituto come main sponsor per mandare avanti tutto il Team Geico Honda, un team che ha segnato la storia del motocross americano, un sacco di campionati e un sacco di piloti fortissimi sono passati da loro, così ne hanno altrettanti che ad oggi non si sa il loro futuro!
Sotto il loro comunicato tristissimo!!!
“Sicuramente non abbiamo visto questo annuncio in arrivo e il termine “tutte le cose belle devono finire”, semplicemente non sembra appropriato. Dopo 22 anni e 12 campionati, siamo stati costretti a prendere la decisione di chiudere la nostra squadra corse. Ad agosto abbiamo perso il nostro sponsor principale. Abbiamo lavorato instancabilmente per cercare di trovare un sostituto, ma dato questo anno imprevedibile, abbiamo esaurito il tempo per mettere insieme qualcosa.
Vorremmo ringraziare il nostro staff e i piloti per essere stati il più comprensivi possibile in questa situazione. Essere costretti a chiudere la nostra squadra non significa perdere la famiglia che abbiamo creato e indipendentemente da dove ci porteranno i prossimi capitoli, il nostro legame non verrà spezzato.
Grazie a tutti i membri del team, ai corridori e alle loro famiglie che sono passati attraverso la nostra operazione, non avremmo davvero potuto farlo senza di voi. Questo sport richiede molti sacrifici da più di un semplice pilota e siamo stati fortunati ad avere dei sistemi di supporto straordinari dietro i nostri ragazzi.
Un enorme grazie ai nostri fan! Ci sentiamo estremamente fortunati ad avere così tante persone dietro al nostro team e ai piloti nel bene e nel male. La dedizione e l’amore che abbiamo dimostrato nel corso degli anni non sono secondi a nessuno. Anche se stiamo andando per strade separate, per favore fermati e saluta quando ci vedi!
Ultimo ma non meno importante, tanti grandi sponsor ci hanno supportato negli anni. American Honda e Factory Connection ci sono state dall’inizio e non avremmo potuto farlo senza di loro! La nostra speranza è che tu continui a sostenere coloro che ci hanno sostenuto negli anni a venire.

We definitely didn’t see this announcement coming and the term, “all good things must come to an end”, just doesn’t seem fitting. After 22 years and 12 championships, we were forced to make the decision of closing down our race team. We were thrown a curveball in August by losing our title sponsor. We have worked tirelessly to try and find a replacement but given this unpredictable year, we ran out of time to get something put together.
We would like to thank our staff and riders for being as understanding as they can be in this situation. Being forced to close our team doesn’t mean we lose the family we created and no matter where our next chapters take us, our bond will not be broke.
Thank you to every team member, rider and their families who have come through our operation- we truly could not have done it without you. This sport requires a lot of sacrifices from more than just the rider and we have been lucky to have some amazing support systems behind our guys.
A huge thank you to our fans! We feel extremely blessed to have so many people stand behind our team and riders through the good and the bad. The dedication and love we have been shown through the years is second to none. Although we all are going our separate ways, please stop and say hi when you see us!
Last but not least, so many great sponsors have supported us through the years. American Honda and Factory Connection have been there from the beginning and we couldn’t have done this without them! Our hope is that you continue to support those who supported us through the years to come.
