TIMETABLE & ENTRY LISTS – MXGP OF SPAIN 2020

The Grand Prix of Spain will be held behind closed doors and with a strict prevention protocol

MADRID IS READY FOR ITS FIRST EVER MXGP
-The motocross World Championship arrives to the Region of Madrid with comprehensive security measures.

-The event will be held on October 10th and 11th at intu Xanadú in the municipality of Arroyomolinos (Comunidad de Madrid).

The Motocross World Championship will take place in the Region of Madrid for the first time on October 10th and 11th. The MXGP World Championship is already back on its feet with its new complete calendar of 18 events, including the Spanish round, whose organizational details have been finalized to ensure the success of the event. The Spanish Grand Prix will take place alongside the intu Xanadú shopping center, in the municipality of Arroyomolinos, thanks to the efforts of the Community of Madrid, the Superior Sports Council and the motorcycling federations of Madrid and Spain.

The race, which was originally scheduled for the month of April, was postponed after the emergency caused by the pandemic and now will be carried out behind closed doors, without spectator attendance. In addition, the organizing committee has established a strict protocol for the prevention of Covid 19 by which all members of
the participating teams (riders, mechanics, managers…), as well as organization personnel or accredited press will have to carry out a Covid test to be able to access the paddock. The World Championship has already successfully implemented this format during the last six races to keep the entire community isolated from the virus. Participants traveling from abroad will also have to undergo a PCR test before starting their trip. All of the above, completed with the complete protocol of preventive measures (distancing, masks, hygiene…) will allow the event to be held normally, given that it is also held outdoors and in a very spacious area.

This Grand Prix had aroused much expectation among motocross fans, eager to watch Jorge Prado live, even more so now that the World Champion is already rubbing shoulders with the best international riders in the premier class. All those fans will have to wait for the 2021 edition to be able to attend the races live. Madrid is a pretty nice region with a lot of turistic, cultural and sports atractions but most of the visitants who planned to visit the country will have to wait until next edition of the Spanish MXGP Grand Prix.
