GLENN COLDENHOFF STANDING CONSTRUCT GASGAS FACTORY RACING OFFRE PRESTAZIONI DA STORIA A BORDO DELLA NUOVA MC 450F AL ROUND 3 della MXGP
Glenn Coldenhoff di GASGAS Factory Racing ha corso verso la vittoria assoluta all’MXGP della Lettonia, assicurandosi un risultato trionfale sull’estenuante circuito di Kegums e guadagnando la prima vittoria di GASGAS Motorcycles nel Campionato mondiale FIM Motocross. Un forte secondo posto nella manche di apertura, Glenn ha poi prodotto un giro impeccabile nella seconda gara MXGP per ottenere la vittoria assoluta. Le prestazioni quasi impeccabili del 29enne lo portano al 3° posto nella classifica del Campionato del Mondo MXGP!
Coldenhoff sale al 3 ° posto nella classifica del campionato del mondo MXGP
Glenn Coldenhoff è stato veloce nell’accelerare quando il cancello è caduto per la moto MXGP di apertura in Lettonia, il tanto atteso riavvio del Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross 2020. Quasi subito dopo l’holeshot, ha corso al 2° posto nelle prime fasi della gara prima di passare al comando all’inizio del terzo giro. L’olandese ha poi commesso uno sfortunato errore poco prima della metà della gara e ha perso il leader, ma è stato in grado di riorganizzarsi e tenere in vista l’eventuale vincitore della gara Tim Gajser. Glenn ha tagliato il traguardo in un brillante 2° posto, guadagnando il primo risultato sul podio di GASGAS in MXGP.
La Moto 2 ha visto Coldenhoff rivendicare l’holeshot, poiché la sua MC 450F lo ha portato in testa al campo MXGP all’inizio del giro iniziale. Resistendo alla pressione di più avversari e stabilendo anche il tempo sul giro più veloce della gara, il pilota di Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing ha condotto tutti i 17 giri per ottenere una vittoria storica in gara e la vittoria complessiva del GP per GASGAS nella competizione MXGP.
Gara 1 all’MXGP della Lettonia è stata dura per l’italiano Ivo Monticelli. Dopo essere precipitato sul rettilineo di partenza fianco a fianco con il compagno di squadra Coldenhoff, una caduta al 2° giro lo ha retrocesso al 33° posto. In una coraggiosa corsa attraverso il campo, Monticelli ha raggiunto i margini delle posizioni di punteggio a metà gara prima che un grosso incidente avesse lasciato la sua moto troppo danneggiata per continuare.
Moto 2 ha visto Ivo incontrare un destino simile. Una caduta considerevole nella prima curva ha coinvolto molti piloti e la MC 450F di Monticelli è stata nuovamente danneggiata, lasciando lo sfortunato italiano a concentrarsi sul round 4 mercoledì prossimo.
Glenn Coldenhoff: “Cosa posso dire? È stata una giornata fantastica! Dopo le qualifiche abbiamo apportato alcune modifiche alle sospensioni della mia moto e in gara è stato davvero ripagato. Il team Standing Construct ha lavorato duramente durante il lockdown per continuare a migliorare le nostre moto all’inizio e oggi lo ha dimostrato chiaramente. Sono partito 2 ° in gara 1, avevo quasi l’holeshot e poi ho preso il comando al 3 ° giro. Dopo pochi giri c’era una grossa roccia nel solco in cui mi trovavo, che ho colpito, e mi ha fatto perdere l’equilibrio appena prima della sezione delle wave. Sono rientrato velocemente in gara e ho fatto un’altra carica verso la fine, ma era troppo tardi. Ho concluso al 2 ° posto, che è stato davvero buono dopo una qualifica non così eccezionale. Gara 2, un altro ottimo inizio con l’holeshot! È stata una gara difficile, soprattutto durante gli ultimi giri, ma sono davvero felice di aver vinto per me e per il team, soprattutto perché è solo il 3 ° MXGP per GASGAS. È semplicemente fantastico. È bello tornare in MXGP, mi piace molto il formato 1 giorno e non vedo l’ora che arrivi mercoledì “.
Ivo Monticelli: “È stato fantastico correre di nuovo in MXGP ma non nel weekend che speravo. Nella 1a gara stavo andando bene, prima di avere una caduta piuttosto grossa sul salto all’estremità del circuito. Stavo bene ma la mia moto era troppo danneggiata per rientrare in gara. In gara 2 sono stato coinvolto nella prima caduta di curva con molti piloti. Quando sono stato in grado di prendere la mia moto era chiaro che non era possibile continuare a causa dei danni causati dalla caduta. È davvero difficile per me accettare, lasciare gare così. Tuttavia, mercoledì correremo di nuovo, quindi devo rimanere concentrato e ottenere alcuni punti sul tabellone per me e per il team Standing Construct GASGAS “.
Sia Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing che DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors torneranno in azione al round 4 del Campionato mondiale di motocross FIM il 12 agosto.

GASGAS FACTORY RACING FLIES TO VICTORY AT MXGP OF LATVIA!
Moto 2 saw Coldenhoff claim the holeshot, as his MC 450F rocketed him to the head of the MXGP field early on the opening lap. Withstanding the pressure from multiple opponents while also setting the fastest lap time of the race, the Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing rider led all 17 laps to claim a historic race win and overall GP victory for GASGAS in MXGP competition.
Race 1 at the MXGP of Latvia was tough for Italian Ivo Monticelli. After rocketing down the start straight side by side with teammate Coldenhoff, a 2nd lap fall demoted him to 33rd place. In a courageous ride through the field, Monticelli reached the fringes of the point-scoring positions midway through the race before a big crash left his bike too damaged to continue.
Moto 2 saw Ivo meet a similar fate. A sizable crash in the 1st turn claimed many riders and Monticelli’s MC 450F was again damaged, leaving the luckless Italian to focus on round 4 this coming Wednesday.
Simon Langenfelder also had a challenging MXGP of Latvia. After being pushed wide and off the track on lap 2 of the opening MX2 race, the young German regrouped and moved towards the point-scoring positions before crashing twice and opting to focus on the 2nd race. In just his 3rd MX2 GP, a great start saw the young German race in the top 10 for half of the moto, before slipping back to 21st at the finish.
Glenn Coldenhoff: “What can I say? It’s been a great day! After qualifying we made some adjustments to my bike’s suspension and it really paid off in the races. The Standing Construct team have worked hard during lockdown to keep improving our bikes on the starts and it clearly showed today. I started 2nd in race 1, nearly had the holeshot and then I took the lead on the 3rd lap. After a few laps there was a big rock in the rut I was in, which I hit, and it knocked me off balance just before the waves section. I re-joined the race quickly and made another charge towards the end, but it was too late. I finished in 2nd place, which was really good after a not so great qualifying. Race 2, another great start taking the holeshot! It was a tough race though, especially during the final laps, but I’m really happy to have won for myself and the team, especially as it’s only the 3rd MXGP for GASGAS. It’s just awesome. It’s nice to be back in MXGP, I really like the 1-day format and I can’t wait for Wednesday.”
Ivo Monticelli: “It was great to be racing MXGP again but not the weekend I hoped for. In the 1st race I was going well, before having quite a big crash on the jump at the far end of the circuit. I was ok but my bike was too damaged to re-join the race. In race 2, I was involved in the 1st corner crash with many riders. When I was able to pick my bike up it was clear that it wasn’t possible to continue because of damage from the crash. It’s really difficult for me to accept, leaving races like this. However, we’re racing again on Wednesday, so I need to stay focused and get some points on the board for myself and the Standing Construct GASGAS team.”
Simon Langenfelder: “It was a tough day for me. In qualifying I couldn’t find my rhythm and qualified 18th so I was in the middle of the gate for the races. In the 1st race I got pushed wide in a corner and off the track. I regrouped and started to move forwards in that race, but then I had a couple more crashes, so I decided to focus on the 2nd race as I was so far behind. I got a great start in race 2 and ran 9th for a lot of the moto, then 10th for a few laps. Towards the end of the race I had some problems and ended the race 21st. For sure it’s not what I wanted but this is only my 3rd GP and I’m learning all the time. I’m looking forward to racing again on Wednesday.”
Both Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing and the DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Juniors will return to action at round 4 of the FIM Motocross World Championship on August 12.
