Eli Tomac: Devo iniziare dicendo che è stata una gara dolcissima. È facile dirlo perché ho vinto, ma è stato davvero divertente. Sulla linea ero un po ‘nervoso per il mio cancello. Ero abbastanza lontano. Ero terzo. In un certo senso ho giocato la carta sicura, ma ho fatto un bel salto. Ho avuto buona trazione lì. Scivolavo con quei ragazzi all’interno. Coop era di fronte a me. Siamo andati leggermente avanti. Entrambi abbiamo avuto un ottimo flusso oggi in pista. Era una bella condizione perché eravamo ancora in grado di ottenere quelle combinazioni di salti e di aggirare la pista, ma allo stesso tempo era un po ‘abbastanza abbozzato da dove alcuni ragazzi doppiati si muovevano in giro. Le condizioni di gara erano davvero divertenti. Come ho detto, sono andato avanti e indietro due volte. È stata davvero una bella gara. Quando sono passato a metà strada della gara… non volevo lasciar andare questa cosa. Mi sentivo così bene e a mio agio e a quel punto che non c’era motivo di abbassare il livello. Ho finito di la tripla combo alla fine di quel ritmo. Questa è stata la cosa giusta per me. È stato incredibile. Ci siamo incrociati due volte negli whoops, o una o due volte lì. È stata una grande battaglia. Davvero divertente. ”
Cooper Webb: “Fa schifo, sono arrivato secondo, ma amico, è stata una battaglia dal primo giro fino all’ultimo giro. Le condizioni erano difficili e i doppiati erano insidiosi – gran parte di ciò dipendeva da quello. Mi è sembrato che in un giro potessi farlo bene e in un giro farlo male ma stavamo davvero spingendo forte. È stata una gara divertente anche se sono stato battuto. Cercheremo di ottenere il primo posto mercoledì. ”
Jason Anderson: “Sono felice di essere qui. Mi sento come se mi stessi avvicinando alla vecchia forma e il mio spazio in testa è un po ‘meglio, quindi sto solo cercando di continuare a costruire. Mi sento come se avessi avuto una buona velocità nelle ultime due gare, quindi lavorerò su alcune cose e tornerò al turno successivo e spero di provare a renderlo un po ‘meno facile per i ragazzi del campionato “.
Sexton sul podio ha detto: “Shane è stato un po ‘bravo e io ho fatto molti errori qui, quindi poi mi è stato fatto un regalo con quella bandiera rossa. Onestamente, ero troppo impaziente nella prima parte della prima gara. Amico, quando hanno dato la bandiera rossa pensavo tipo, “Devo vincere, questa è la mia gara”. Mi sono sentito davvero bene tutto il giorno e sì, è stato davvero bello. Mi sentivo molto bene. Ho perso il freno anteriore da metà di quell’evento principale. Incontrare i doppiati non è stato buono là fuori. Mi sentivo davvero bene, ma ero solo un po ‘in attesa dietro Shane. Sapevo di essere più veloce sulle whoops e un po’ in attesa era la cosa giusta da fare in un momento per prenderlo. E ha finito per fare un errore, quindi è stato bello e sono felice di avere questa piccola pausa che abbiamo con la tabella rossa”.
Ken Roczen: “Queste ultime due gare ovviamente non sono state i risultati di cui avevamo bisogno per combattere. Ciò non significa che non stiamo ancora provando. A volte ti viene distribuita una mano di carte completamente fuori dal tuo controllo, ma stiamo cercando di prendere le decisioni più intelligenti e veloci per superare alcuni dei problemi di salute che continuano a presentarsi. La mia qualifica è andata bene e ho guidato una manciata di giri fino a quando non ho fatto un errore. I massi hanno iniziato a spuntare e penso di sapere esattamente dove la roccia mi ha portato tra le wave. Con il tempo che cambiava, abbiamo cercato di prendere una decisione sulle gomme che mi avrebbe dato le migliori possibilità di non far accadere la stessa cosa nel Main Event, ma che ovviamente non funzionava bene. Non sono il tipo di ragazzo che ama rotolarsi o è soddisfatto di un quinto o decimo posto, ma a volte se questo è il meglio che puoi fare per la notte, devi solo escluderlo per quello che è. Non posso ringraziare abbastanza il mio team per essere paziente con me e per non aver mai vacillato nel loro supporto. Conosco i sacrifici che stanno facendo per essere quassù e tutto il lavoro che stanno facendo per darmi il miglior equipaggiamento e supporto, e voglio fare di meglio per loro. Non potrei essere più grato a loro e spero che possiamo ribaltarlo e trovarci in una posizione migliore per combattere uno scontro mercoledì. ”

Eli Tomac said about his decision to go for the win, “When I got passed half way… I mean, I did not want to let this thing go. I was feeling so good and comfortable at that point there was no reason to take it a level down there. I ended up getting the triple combo at the end of that rhythm. That was the make-or-break for me. That was unbelievable. We passed each other twice in the whoops, or once or twice there. That was a great battle. Really fun though.”
Cooper Webb: “It sucks I got second but man, it was a battle from lap one until the last lap. The conditions were tricky and the lappers were gnarly – a lot of it came down to that. It seemed like one lap I might get it right and one lap he might get it right but we were really pushing hard. It was a fun race even though I got beat. We’ll try to get the top spot on Wednesday.”
“I’m happy to be up here,” Anderson said. “I feel like I’m getting closer to old form and my headspace is a little better so I’m just trying to keep building. I feel like I’ve had some good speed the last two races so I’m going to work on some stuff and come back at the next round and hopefully try to make it a little less easy on the championship guys.”
Sexton on the podium said, “Shane’s been kind of on a roll and I’ve been making a lot of mistakes out here, so I got a gift with that red flag. Honestly, I was being way too impatient in the first couple of opening corners in the first race. Man, when they red-flagged I’m like, ‘I gotta win this, this is my race.’ I felt really good all day, and yeah, it was really good. I felt super good. I lost my front brake like halfway through that main event. Running into lappers, it was bad out there. I felt really good, but was just kinda waiting behind Shane. I knew I was faster in the whoops and just kinda waiting for a moment to take it. And he ended up making a mistake, so it was good and I’m happy to head into this little break we got with the red plate.”
Ken Roczen: “These past two races obviously haven’t been the results that we needed to be in the fight. That doesn’t mean that we aren’t still trying. Sometimes you’re dealt a hand of cards that are completely out of your control, but we’re trying to make the smartest and quickest decisions to get through some of the health issues that keep coming up. My heat went well and I led a handful of laps until I got a flat. The boulders started popping up and I think I know right where the rock got me in the whoops. With the weather changing, we tried to make a tire decision that would give me the best chances of not having that same thing happen in the main, but that obviously didn’t work well. I’m not the type of guy that likes to roll around or is satisfied with a fifth- or 10th-place finish, but sometimes if that’s the best you can do for the night, you just have to except it for what it is. I can’t thank my team enough for being patient with me and for never wavering in their support. I know the sacrifices they’re making to be up here and all of the work they’re putting in to give me the best equipment and support, and I want to do better for them. I couldn’t be more grateful for them and I hope we can turn this around and be in a better position to put up a fight on Wednesday.”
