Foothill Ranch, California (6 giugno 2020) – Dopo essersi ritirato dal Round 12 di mercoledì del Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, il pilota del Monster Energy Kawasaki del Campionato Mondiale FIM Adam Cianciarulo ha cercato un consulto medico aggiuntivo a seguito dell’infortunio subito nella 450SX Main Evento domenica scorsa. I risultati hanno rivelato che la sua lesione alla schiena era più grave di quanto si pensasse inizialmente. Cianciarulo e il team hanno preso la difficile decisione di non correre per il resto della stagione di Supercross e iniziare immediatamente il suo processo di recupero.

“Odio portarvi altre cattive notizie, penso che sia tutto ciò che ho fatto di recente, ha detto Cianciarulo in un post su Instagram. “Sfortunatamente ho ottenuto i risultati della mia scansione TC ieri e si scopre che ho quattro fratture acute nei processi trasversali dalla mia L1 alla L4 sul lato destro della parte bassa della schiena, quindi in pratica le ossa che sembrano un mignolo sporgono dalla colonna vertebrale. Per quanto riguarda gli sport in questione, ci vorranno solo un paio di settimane fuori dalla moto, niente tutori, niente interventi chirurgici, niente del genere, quindi credo di essere stato davvero fortunato, ma sfortunatamente ciò significa che non c’è supercross per me “.

(June 6, 2020) – After withdrawing from Wednesday’s Round 12 of the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Adam Cianciarulo sought out additional medical consultation following the injury he sustained in the 450SX Main Event last Sunday. The results revealed his back injury was more severe than the originally thought. Cianciarulo and the team made the difficult decision to not race the remainder of the Supercross season and begin his recovery process immediately.
“This is not the news I was expecting to be sharing today, but after speaking to additional specialists and the team, it is in my best interest that I sit out the remainder of the supercross season. This is a tough pill to swallow as I was really excited to get back to racing here in Salt Lake City, but I have to be smart with what my body is telling me. For now, I will focus on my recovery and do everything in my power to make sure I am ready to go in July for the start of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. “Hate to bring you more bad news, I feel that’s all I’ve been doing lately, said Cianciarulo in an Instagram post. “Unfortunately I got my CT scan results back yesterday and it turns out I do have four acute fractures on the transverse processes from my L1 to L4 on the right side of my lower back, so basically the little finger looking bones stick off the spine. As far as that sports concerned it’s only going to be a couple of weeks off the bike, no brace, no surgery nothing like that, so io feel I got really lucky but unfortunately that means no supercross for me.”
