ROAN VAN DE MOOSDIJK AND WILSON TODD TO MISS ARGENTINA
Roan van de Moosdijk dell’F&H Racing Team e Wilson Todd del DRT Kawasaki salteranno ciascuno il prossimo round del campionato FIM World MX2 Motocross dopo aver subito infortuni questo fine settimana.
Roan Van de Moosdijk si è storto la caviglia a metà della prima manche del GP olandese a Valkenswaard, subito dopo essersi trasferito nelle prime sei posizioni, ma coraggiosamente ha continuato per chiudere in dodicesima con sofferenza prima di cercare assistenza medica. I raggi X all’ospedale in Belgio hanno rivelato una frattura della caviglia e la stessa sera ha subito un’operazione con una placca di metallo inserita per stabilizzare la frattura. Mancherà il prossimo round del campionato del mondo a Neuquén in Argentina il 21/22 marzo e anche il round di apertura del Masters of Motocross olandese ad Harfsen una settimana dopo, ma sia il pilota che la squadra rimangono ottimisti per un ritorno alle corse in Spagna GP il 18/19 aprile. Roan visiterà nuovamente il medico la prossima settimana e sarà possibile una diagnosi aggiornata dei tempi di recupero.
Roan van de Moosdijk: “Sfortunatamente ieri mi sono rotto la caviglia a metà della prima manche mentre ero in sesta posizione. Non mi sono schiantato, ho appena toccato il terreno duramente e mi sono girato la caviglia sinistra. Sono riuscito comunque a finire in dodicesima posizione ma quando ho superato la linea ho sentito subito che qualcosa non andava. Per fortuna non ho dolore e sono stato operato domenica sera; è stato un taglio netto quindi non dovrebbero esserci grossi problemi. Il diciannove devo tornare all’ospedale per un nuovo esame e poi vediamo quanto tempo è necessario per recuperare. Grazie a tutti per gli auguri, F&H Racing Team e Kawasaki per il loro supporto. ”
Wilson Todd del DRT Kawasaki è stato ferito alla prima curva della stessa gara quando è stato coinvolto in un accumulo multiplo. L’australiano è stato investito da diversi piloti e ha sostenuto fratture alle dita. Il proprietario del team DRT Steve Dixon ha dichiarato che il team ora mancherà il GP dell’Argentina ma anche lui rimane ottimista sul fatto che Wilson possa tornare a correre in Spagna.
Wilson Todd: “Mi sono ritrovato alla prima curva agganciato e sono stato investito. Alcune dita si sono fratturate. Ma torneremo! “

Roan van de Moosdijk of the F&H Racing Team and Wilson Todd of DRT Kawasaki will each miss the next round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship after sustaining injuries this weekend.
Roan Van de Moosdijk twisted his ankle midway through the first moto of the Dutch GP at Valkenswaard, soon after moving into the first six, but bravely continued to finish twelfth in great pain before seeking medical assistance. X-rays at the hospital in Belgium revealed a fracture of the ankle and he underwent an operation the same evening with a metal plate inserted to stabilise the fracture. He will miss the next round of the world championship at Neuquén in Argentina on March 21/22 and also the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Harfsen one week later but both rider and team remain optimistic for a return to racing at the Spanish GP on April 18/19. Roan will visit the doctor again next week and an updated diagnosis of the recovery time will be possible.
Roan van de Moosdijk: “Unfortunately I broke my ankle yesterday halfway the first moto while I was riding solid in sixth. I didn’t crash, I just hit the ground really hard and twisted my left ankle. I still managed to finish in twelfth place but as I came over the line I straight away felt something was not right. Luckily I have no pain and I got operated Sunday night; it was a clean cut so there should be no big problems. On the nineteenth I have to go back to the hospital for a new examination and then we see how much times is needed to recover. DRT Kawasaki’s Wilson Todd was injured at the first corner of the same race when he was involved in a multiple pile-up. The Australian was run over by several riders and sustained broken fingers. DRT team owner Steve Dixon has stated that the team will now miss the Argentina GP but he too remains optimistic that Wilson can return to racing in Spain.
Wilson Todd: “I joined in on the first turn pile-up and got ran over. Some broken fingers and cuts. We will be back! “
