La prima prova degli Internazionali d’Italia MX Series 2020 è già storia! Sotto un cielo terso ed un sole primaverile gli oltre 115 piloti delle tre classi 125, MX2 e MX1 si sono sfidati sulla difficile e tecnica sabbia del circuito “Le Dune” gestito dal Motoclub Motor School di Riola Sardo, davanti al pubblico delle grandi occasioni, richiamato dall’incredibile numero di campioni presenti in gara.

E’ stato Tim Gajser (Honda HRC) il mattatore della gara inaugurale della stagione europea del motocross, lo sloveno alla guida del prototipo sviluppato dalla HRC per tentare l’assalto al Mondiale MXGP 2020 ha dominato la gara della Superfinale, partendo in testa e transitando sul traguardo del primo giro con ben sei secondi di vantaggio sul diretto inseguitore. Solo il contatto con un doppiato nel finale ha riaperto la gara ed ha permesso a Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha Monster Energy MXGP) di rifarsi sotto, dando vita ad un finale incandescente che ha visto il campione del mondo aggiudicarsi la gara precedendo il rivale di una manciata di secondi. Terzo sul podio della gara che regala punti per il montepremi di 110.000€ Arminas Jasikonis (Husqvarna Rockstar Energy), autore di una grande rimonta dalle retrovie dopo un primo giro costellato da cadute e uscite di pista.

In MX1 Tim Gajser ha aperto al meglio la sua stagione competitiva, aggiudicandosi la pole position 24MX nelle prove cronometrate del mattino, facendo segnare uno stratosferico 1.40.591, precedendo di un secondo Arminas Jasikonis e di due Jeremy Seewer. In gara il pilota Honda è scattato in testa ed ha condotto tutti e 16 i giri, tagliando il traguardo davanti al compagno Mitchell Evans ad allo svizzero Seewer. Sesto e primo degli italiani, Ivo Monticelli (Standing Construct GasGas), autore di una bella gara che lo ha visto occupare la seconda posizione nei primi giri.

In MX2 dominio delle Yamaha con le due moto del team Monster Energy MX2 ai primi due posti con Jago Geerts primo e Ben Watson secondo; i due compagni di squadra se le sono suonate di santa ragione per tutta la durata della gara e sono arrivati appaiati al traguardo. Terzo sul podio della quarto di litro, l’autore della pole position 24MX Maxime Renaux (Yamaha SM Action Migliori), il francese che ha preceduto Mattia Guadagnini (Husqvarna Maddii Racing), primo degli azzurri in gara.

Vittoria italiana in 125, Pietro Razzini (Team Castellari) ha avuto la meglio sui suoi avversari al termine delle due manche, il reggiano si è infatti imposto nella prima frazione, vincendo su Andrea Bonacorsi (Fantic) e Nikita Kucherov (KTM), dopo essere partito in testa. In gara due è stato l’autore della pole position 24MX Rasmus Pedersen (KTM) a scattare davanti a tutti, conducendo per tutta la gara fino all’ultimo giro, quando Razzini lo ha superato, restituendo però subito dopo la posizione nel successivo contrattacco del danese, che sale sul terzo gradino del podio. Terzo, dopo una caduta con un doppiato, Andrea Bonacorsi, velocissimo nella rimonta e secondo sul podio di giornata.

The first round of the Internazionali d’Italia MX Series 2020 is already in the books! Under a clear sky and a spring sun, the over 115 riders of the three classes 125, MX2 and MX1 competed on the difficult and technical sand of the “Le Dune” track managed by the Motoclub Motor School of Riola Sardo, in front of the massive crowds, attracted by the incredible number of champions aligned at the gate.

Tim Gajser (Honda HRC) was the star of the first race of the European motocross season, the Slovenian with the prototype developed by the HRC to attempt the assault on the MXGP 2020 World Championship dominated the Superfinal race, leading and crossing the finish line of the first lap with an advantage of six seconds on the direct pursuer. Only the contact with a lapped rider in the last laps reopened the race and allowed Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha Monster Energy MXGP) to go underneath, giving life to a trilling final that saw the world champion win the race preceding the rival by few seconds. Arminas Jasikonis (Husqvarna Rockstar Energy) was third on the podium of the race, that gives points for the € 110,000 prize, the Lithuanian was author of a great comeback on the field after a first dramatic lap full of crashes.

In MX2 Yamaha dominated with the two bikes of the Monster Energy MX2 team in the first two places with Jago Geerts first and Ben Watson second; the two teammates played for the whole moto and crossed the finish line really close. Third on the podium, the man of the 24MX pole position Maxime Renaux (Yamaha SM Action Best). 

Italian victory in 125, with Pietro Razzini (Team Castellari) who beat his rivals at the end of the two heats, the Italian won the first fraction, over Andrea Bonacorsi (Fantic) and Nikita Kucherov (KTM). In the second moto it was the man of the 24MX pole position, Rasmus Pedersen (KTM), who started in front of everyone, leading throughout the race until the last lap, when Razzini passed him, but the Danish, who climbs to the third step of the podium was able to pass back Razzini for the first place of the second moto. Third, after a crash with a lapped, Andrea Bonacorsi, had a very fast comeback and went second on the podium of the day.
