HONDA PRESENTS 2020 AMA SUPERCROSS, ARENACROSS TEAMS
CORONA, California – Durante uno speciale evento mediatico tenutosi oggi sulla pista di prova ufficiale Honda, la Honda americana ha presentato i suoi team per le stagioni AMA Supercross e AMA Arenacross del 2020. Tredici piloti di quattro diversi team hanno risposto a giornalisti, hanno guidato per le telecamere e hanno socializzato con gli sponsor.
A guidare l’evento era il Team Honda HRC, che schiererà Ken Roczen e Justin Brayton a bordo della factory CRF450R nella divisione 450SX. Roczen, che sta arrivando al secondo posto nella serie AMA Pro Motocross del 2019, si sta preparando per il suo quarto anno con la squadra. Brayton, che ha appena cucito il suo quarto campionato australiano Supercross, ritorna nella squadra per la quale ha guidato l’ultima volta nel 2012. Brayton continua la sua preparazione per concentrarsi sulle corse degli stadi e, alla conclusione della serie AMA Supercross, il suo posto sarà riempito con 450 rookie Chase Sexton.
Sexton, il campione in carica della East Region AMA 250SX, è attualmente alla guida di GEICO Honda, lo sforzo satellitare da 250 della Corona americana con sede in California. Lui e i suoi compagni di squadra montano sulla CRF250R — Jeremy Martin, Christian Craig, Jo Shimoda e Hunter e Jett Lawrence — sono stati anche presentati ai media durante l’evento. A disposizione anche il team Smartop / MotoConcepts / Bullfrog Spas Honda, che ha sede a Victorville, in California, e promuoverà la divisione 450SX sulla CRF450R con Malcolm Stewart (recentemente terzo alla Monster Energy Cup e secondo al Paris Supercross), Vince Friese (un veterano della squadra, noto per le sue forti partenze) e Justin Hill (nuovo nel team per il 2020).
Oltre ai suoi sforzi di supercross, la Honda ha presentato il team AMA Arenacross della Phoenix Racing Honda, per il quale il campione in carica Jace Owen sarà affiancato da Kyle Peters, che inizia la sua prima stagione arenacross. Con sede a Salisbury, nella Carolina del Nord, il team ha in programma anche la campagna per i round della regione AMA Supercross 250SX East.
“Questo è sempre un momento impegnativo ed emozionante dell’anno con i supercross e i pre season dietro l’angolo, quindi è divertente fare una breve pausa e dare ai nostri amici dei media la possibilità di appendere i nostri team”, ha affermato Brandon Wilson, Manager di pubblicità e sport motociclistici presso la Honda americana. “Abbiamo quattro team forti con formazioni solide per il 2020 e siamo orgogliosi di queste relazioni. Ci sono tutte le ragioni per essere ottimisti per un grande anno di gare in stadi e arene per Red Riders “.
La stagione AMA Supercross inizia ad Anaheim, in California, il 4 gennaio, un giorno dopo l’inizio di AMA Arenacross a Loveland, in Colorado.

CORONA, Calif.—During a special media event held today at the official Honda test track, American Honda presented its teams for the 2020 AMA Supercross and AMA Arenacross seasons. Thirteen riders from four different teams did interviews with journalists, rode for the cameras and socialized with sponsors.
Headlining the event was Team Honda HRC, which will field Ken Roczen and Justin Brayton aboard the factory CRF450R in the 450SX division. Roczen, who is coming off a runner-up overall finish in the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross series, is preparing for his fourth year with the squad. Brayton, who just sewed up his fourth Australian Supercross Championship, returns to the team he last rode for in 2012. Brayton continues his practice of focusing on stadium racing, and at the conclusion of the AMA Supercross series, his seat will be filled by 450 rookie Chase Sexton.
Sexton, the reigning AMA 250SX East Region Champion, currently rides for GEICO Honda, American Honda’s Corona, California-based 250 satellite effort. He and his fellow CRF250R-mounted teammates—Jeremy Martin, Christian Craig, Jo Shimoda and Hunter and Jett Lawrence—were also presented to media at the event. GEICO Honda announced yesterday that nine-time AMA Champion Ryan Dungey has joined the team as a co-owner.
Also on hand was the Smartop/MotoConcepts/Bullfrog Spas Honda team, which is based in Victorville, California, and will campaign the 450SX division on the CRF450R with Malcolm Stewart (recently third at the Monster Energy Cup and second at the Paris Supercross), Vince Friese (a veteran with the squad, known for his strong starts) and Justin Hill (new to the team for 2020).
In addition to its supercross efforts, Honda presented Phoenix Racing Honda’s AMA Arenacross team, for which defending champion Jace Owen will be joined by Kyle Peters, who begins his first arenacross season. Based in Salisbury, North Carolina, the team also plans to campaign the AMA Supercross 250SX East region rounds.

The AMA Supercross season kicks off in Anaheim, California, on January 4, one day after AMA Arenacross begins in Loveland, Colorado.
