FATTI DI TIM GAJSER – IL CAMPIONE DEL MONDO MXGP 2019

La stagione 2019 è stata una delle più coerenti per Tim Gajser del Team HRC, ma è difficile dire che Tim Gajser stia solo guardando i suoi risultati del 2019.

Tim Gajser ha iniziato la sua vita nel motocross quando aveva solo 3 anni, nel 2006 Tim Gajser è arrivato terzo nella classe 65cc del campionato europeo alla tenera età di sette anni. Nel 2007, lo sloveno è tornato alla EMX65cc ottenendo il suo primo titolo nel campionato europeo e 2 anni dopo ha ripetuto lo stesso nella 85cc vincendo il titolo nel 2009.

Nel 2010 ha fatto il suo debutto nell’EMX125. Nel 2012, l’allora quindicenne pilota ha dominato tutto, ha ottenuto il titolo del campionato europeo EMX125 al suo curriculum ed è stato anche il campione del mondo FIM Junior Motocross 125cc nello stesso anno mentre nel 2013 ha fatto il suo debutto nel campionato mondiale FIM Motocross MX2 dove, undicesimo è stato il suo miglior risultato, al MXGP della Germania, e dopo aver saltato alcuni round ha chiuso al ventesimo posto assoluto. Nel 2014, Honda Gariboldi lo ha raccolto e con il suo supporto ha vinto il torneo per essere la star di quell’anno, la sua prima stagione completa in MX2, con nove top cinque e sei incredibili podi.

Ha terminato quinto nel 2014 e ha vinto il titolo MX2 nel 2015. I turni di apertura del campionato mondiale FIM Motocross 2015 che si sono svolti in Qatar, Thailandia e Patagonia Argentina non sono stati i migliori per Tim ma è riuscito a cambiare le cose quando è tornato in Europa e ha ottenuto la sua prima vittoria in assoluto nella MX2 e il primo gran premio assoluto al GP del Trentino. Dopo un infortunio e un paio di gare in cui ha lottato per il podio, Gajser, ormai diciottenne, è stato in grado di riorganizzarsi negli ultimi quattro turni in cui è riuscito a mettere fine alla stagione e conquistare il suo primo titolo mondiale .

Nel 2016 Gajser, il cui soprannome è “Tiga” o GT243, è stato a dir poco straordinario. Ha dimostrato la maturità di un veterano della guerra mondiale con i suoi 247 giri in testa, 8 vittorie nelle gare di qualificazione, 15 vittorie nella gara principale, 7 vittorie nel Gran Premio e 15 incredibili podi da un possibile 17. Non c’è nessun pilota più meritevole della Corona MXGP nel 2016 rispetto a Tim Gajser.

Tim Gajser ha continuato a battere i record essendo il primo pilota nella storia che ha vinto titoli back-to-back in MX2 e MXGP. Il 2017 e il 2018 non sono stati i migliori per il giovane sloveno in quanto ha dato il via alla stagione 2017 come difensore del titolo in Qatar e già alla prima gara la bella battaglia tra i due campioni del mondo Gajser e Cairoli era chiara. Ma una sfortunata stagione con incidenti e infortuni lo ha fermato per raggiungere i gradini più alti del podio riuscendo a finire la stagione in 5° posizione.

Dopo un saliscendi nel 2017, lo sloveno ha iniziato la stagione 2018 con un grosso infortunio che lo ha costretto a saltare il round di apertura della stagione per riprendersi correttamente. Ha terminato la stagione 2018 senza vittorie in tasca ma riuscendo a raggiungere la 4° posizione in campionato.

Nel 2019 Tim Gajser ha scoperto la sua motivazione e il suo percorso coerente ed è riuscito a vincere il suo terzo titolo mondiale di motocross dopo una stagione brillante che ha battuto molti record con sette vittorie consecutive come pilota Honda. Ha trascorso un anno solido iniziando in Argentina con un secondo posto e proseguendo con grandi spettacoli in Gran Bretagna e Paesi Bassi fino alla sua prima vittoria in stagione al GP in Trentino, Italia. Tim Gajser ha conquistato 9 GP finora nel 2019, ha raggiunto 15 podi e ha vinto 16 manche e ha ottenuto il suo secondo titolo MXGP tre GP prima della fine della stagione a Imola, in Italia, davanti a migliaia di spettatori sloveni.

The 2019 Season has been one of the most consistent for Team HRC’s Tim Gajser but it’s hard to say who Tim Gajser is just looking at his 2019 results.

Tim Gajser started his motocross life when he was only 3 years, in 2006 Tim Gajser finished third in the European Championship 65cc class at the tender age of seven years old. In 2007, the Slovenian entered again the EMX65cc getting his first European Championship title and 2 years later he repeatet the same in 85cc winning the title in 2009.

In 2010 he made his debut in the EMX125. In 2012, the then fifteen year old rider dominated everything, he got the European Championship EMX125 title to his resume and was also the FIM Junior Motocross 125cc World Champion in that same year while in 2013 he made his debut in the FIM Motocross MX2 World Championship where eleventh was his best result, at the MXGP of Germany, and after missing a few rounds he finished twentieth overall. In 2014, Honda Gariboldi picked him up and with their support he tourned out to be the star of that year, his first full season in MX2, with nine top five overalls and an amazing six podium finishes.

He finished fifth in 2014 and he won the MX2 title in 2015. Opening rounds of the 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship which took place in Qatar, Thailand and Patagonia Argentina were not the best for Tim but he managed to turn things around when he returned to Europe and claimed his first ever MX2 race win and first ever grand prix overall at the MXGP of Trentino. After an injury and a couple of races where he struggled for podium finishes, Gajser, the eighteen year old was able to regroup heading into the final four rounds where he managed to put in a strong finish to the season and clinch his first ever world title.

In 2016 Gajser, whose nicknames are ‘Tiga’ or GT243, was nothing short of extraordinary. He has demonstrated the maturity of a world war veteran with his whopping 247 laps led, 8 qualifying race wins, 15 main event race wins, 7 grand prix wins, and incredible 15 podiums from a possible 17. There is no rider more deserving of the MXGP crown in 2016 than Tim Gajser.

Tim Gajser continued to break records being the first rider in history who won back-to-back titles in MX2 and MXGP. 2017 and 2018 were not the best for the young Slovenian as he kicked off the 2017 season as title defender in Qatar and already at the first race the fair battle between the two World Champions Gajser and Cairoli was clear. But an unfortunate season featuring crashes and injuries stopped him to reach the top steps of the podium managing to finish the season in 5^th position.

After an ups-and-downs 2017, the Slovenian started off the 2018 season with a big injury which forced him to skip the opening round of the season in order to recover properly. He finished the 2018 season without any victories in his pockets but managing to reach the 4^th position in the championship.

In 2019 Tim Gajser found agaim his motivation and consistent path and managed to win his third motocross world title after a brilliant season breaking many records such as seven rounds win-streak as Honda rider. He had a solid year starting off in Argentina with a second place and continuing with great performances in Great Britain and Netherlands until his first GP win of the season in Trentino, Italy. Tim Gajser clinched 9 GPs so far in 2019, reached 15 podiums and won 16 heats and cliched his second MXGP title three GPs before the end of the season in Imola, Italy, in front of thousands of Slovenian spectators.
