Dixon Racing Team considera l’entrata in MXGP per il 2020
Il Kawasaki Dixon Racing Team potrebbe essere in procinto di brindare al loro primo campionato mondiale FIM al Grand Prix di Turchia con Courtney Duncan in testa alla WMX di 26 punti nel round finale, ma il team britannico sta prendendo in considerazione piloti in più classi per il 2020 che accompagnerà la New Zealander che ha firmato per rimanere sulla KX250F per i prossimi due anni al GP di Imola.
Il proprietario e manager Steve Dixon non ha ancora annunciato la sua entrata in MX2 per il prossimo anno, ma si ritiene che abbia un contratto con un pilota australiano di primo piano in quanto l’attuale pilota e storico Darian Sanayei uscirà dalla MX2 nel 2020. Principalmente una squadra MX2, grazie agli innovativi sforzi ingegneristici del britannico con la KX250F e avventurandosi nella classe regina con Tommy Searle per due stagioni, Dixon sta di nuovo prendendo in considerazione la MXGP a causa delle potenzialità del mercato dei piloti e delle priorità per Kawasaki Motor Europe.
“Abbiamo due piloti con firma e forse ne stiamo cercando uno in più, ma ci sono molte opzioni e sono aperto a ciò che c’è intorno”, ha rivelato. “Ora che il livello principale dei piloti Factory è finalizzato o risolto, ce ne sono ancora molti davvero disponibili. Ora è solo un gioco d’ attesa per vedere qual è il modo migliore per avere il massimo impatto e se questo è in MXGP o MX2. Abbiamo esperienza con entrambi, e ora Kawasaki ha un’ottima base sia con la KX250F che con la 450, quindi c’è meno lavoro. Abbiamo anche un buon rapporto con WP Suspension, quindi per ogni pilota che si allontana dai marchi europei ha anche informazioni. “
Se l’americano Sanayei desidera rimanere in Europa e affrontare la classe MXGP, potrebbe rimanere nell’allestimento Kawasaki per un quarto anno ma nomi come Adam Sterry e Max Anstie (ex pilota di Dixon e vincitore del GP in MX2) sono stati collegati.
“Il nostro obiettivo è ottenere risultati, che poi si trasformano in sponsorizzazioni. Alla fine siamo fortemente supportati da Kawasaki Motor Europe, quindi seguiamo la loro direzione ”, ha aggiunto Dixon. “Max [Anstie] potrebbe rientrare in quella categoria perché le serie britanniche potrebbero essere un punto di interesse.”

Bike it Dixon Racing Team again considering MXGP entry for 2020
The Bike it Kawasaki Dixon Racing Team could be toasting their first FIM World Championship by the Grand Prix of Turkey with Courtney Duncan fronting WMX by 26 points heading into the final round but the British team are considering riders in multiple classes for 2020 to accompany the New Zealander who signed to remain on the KX250F for the next two years at Imola.
Owner and manager Steve Dixon has yet to announce his MX2 entry for next year but is believed to have contracted a leading Australian racer as current incumbent Darian Sanayei ages-out of MX2 for 2020. Mainly an MX2 squad thanks to the Brit’s innovative engineering efforts with the KX250F and only venturing into the premier class with Tommy Searle for two terms, Dixon is again considering MXGP due to the potential of the swollen rider market and priorities for Kawasaki Motor Europe.
“We have two riders signed and maybe looking for one more but there are a lot of options and I’m open to what is around,” he revealed. “Now that the main tier of factory riders are either finalised or fixed there are still a lot of really good ones available. It is now just a waiting game to see what is the best way to make the most impact and whether that is in MXGP or MX2. We have experience with both, and now Kawasaki has a really good base with both the KX250F and the 450 so there is less work. We also have a good relationship with WP Suspension so for any rider coming away from European brands then they also have information.”
If American Sanayei wishes to remain in Europe and tackle the MXGP class then he could stay in the Kawasaki set-up for a fourth year but names like Adam Sterry and Max Anstie (Dixon’s former racer and GP winner in MX2) have also been connected. “Our focus is to get results, which then turns into sponsorship. Ultimately we are heavily backed by Kawasaki Motor Europe so we follow their direction,” Dixon added. “Max [Anstie] could fall into that category because the British series could be a point of interest.”
