Febvre prova il secondo marchio in MXGP con la mossa Kawasaki?
L’ex campione del mondo MXGP Romain Febvre è oggetto di voci che collegano il 27enne al Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team per il 2020.
Il francese ha fatto il suo debutto con quella che ora è la squadra ufficiale di Monster Energy Yamaha nel 2015 e ha rivendicato il titolo di prima categoria al suo primo tentativo. Le condizioni del 2016 e del 2017 sono state rovinate da infortuni e problemi di set-up e l’ex-stella MX2 è stato amaramente deluso di infortunarsi la caviglia destra al Gran Premio inaugurale d’Argentina dopo un forte pre-campionato.
Con la Yamaha che presumibilmente sta cercando di tagliare la loro rappresentazione MXGP per il 2020, il nome di Febvre è stato collegato con altre factory e il passaggio all’impostazione del KRT con sede in Olanda ha preso slancio. L’equipaggio sta attualmente soffrendo di una crisi di infortuni con Clement Desalle che si riprende da una frattura della gamba (dopo aver subito un intervento chirurgico al ginocchio destro all’inizio di quest’anno) e Julien Lieber che si frattura il gomito durante il recente Gran Premio di Germania.
Se il trasferimento è confermato, sarà la prima volta che il talentuoso corridore (che ha trascorso anche cinque anni con Monster Energy) gareggia con la “green” nel Campionato Mondiale FIM dopo aver corso in precedenza con KTM, Husqvarna e ora Yamaha in entrambe le classi . Si collegherà con Desalle: il team ha atteso notizie sull’eventuale data di ritorno per il belga che è stato il suo principale corridore dal 2016.

Febvre to try second brand in MXGP with Kawasaki move?
Former MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre is the subject of rumours linking the 27 year old to Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team for 2020.
The Frenchman made his debut with what is now the Monster Energy Yamaha factory squad in 2015 and claimed the premier class title at his first attempt. 2016 and 2017 terms were ruined by injury and set-up problems and the ex-MX2 star was bitterly disappointed to break his right ankle at the season-opening Argentinian Grand Prix after a strong pre-season.
With Yamaha allegedly looking to trim their MXGP representation for 2020, Febvre’s name has been linked with other factories and a move to the Dutch-based KRT set-up has gathered momentum. The crew are currently suffering an injury crisis with Clement Desalle recovering from a broken leg (after already having surgery on the right knee earlier this year) and Julien Lieber breaking his elbow during the recent German Grand Prix.
If the transfer is confirmed then it will be the first time that the talented racer (who is also five years with Monster Energy) competes with ‘green’ in the FIM World Championship after having previously raced with KTM, Husqvarna and now Yamaha in both classes. He’ll link up with Desalle: the team have been waiting for news over the possible return date for the Belgian who has been their principal runner since 2016.
