Infortunio al gomito mette in disparte Julien Lieber
Julien Lieber del team Monster Energy Kawasaki ha subito una frattura del gomito sinistro quando è caduto mentre era al secondo posto durante il MXGP tedesco.
Julien ha fatto una partenza eccellente nella gara d’apertura della robusta pista di Teutschenthal nella Germania centrale per comandare un solido terzo posto durante la prima metà della gara, prima di eseguire un passaggio magistrale per il secondo posto. L’unico pilota in gara a stabilire giri regolari in un minuto e cinquantadue secondi ha immediatamente iniziato a chiudere sul leader fino a quando non ha subito un grave incidente sul terreno scivoloso in un salto nel dodicesimo dei diciotto giri. Gettato sulla sommità del salto, atterrò goffamente sul lato sinistro e l’esame nell’unità medica della pista rivelò una frattura del gomito sinistro. Un aggiornamento sarà disponibile dopo un ulteriore esame in Belgio, dove Julien sarà operato questa settimana.
Julien Lieber: «Il fine settimana è iniziato bene, ma non è finito così bene! Ho fatto una grande partenza nella prima manche e ho avuto un buon feeling e buone linee in pista; Ho trovato un posto dove passare Seewer per la seconda posizione e il mio ritmo era così buono che ho fatto un piccolo salto su di lui. Non stavo spingendo così forte e in fondo alla grande collina ho sempre preso una linea a sinistra della pista perché non era così accidentata lì. Non capisco cosa sia successo; è stato un grande incidente e sono così dispiaciuto di finire il weekend così. ”
François Lemariey: «Dopo la sua buona qualifica di sabato Julien stava facendo una grande gara nella prima manche e poteva aspettarsi un podio finchè non si è schiantato sul fondo della salita più grande; sembra che abbia colpito una zona morbida e abbia perso il controllo della moto, e questa sezione è stata talmente veloce da essere atterrato abbastanza pesantemente. I primi esami hanno rivelato una lesione al gomito sinistro; sta tornando in Belgio per ulteriori esami e interventi chirurgici. Amiamo il motocross, ma a volte questo sport non ti ricompensa dalla tua dedizione. ”

Elbow injury sidelines Julien Lieber
Julien Lieber of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team suffered a fracture of the left elbow when he crashed out of second place during the German MXGP.
Julien made an excellent start in the opening moto at the rugged Teutschenthal track in central Germany to command a solid third place through the first half of the race before executing a masterly pass for second place. The only rider in the race to set regular sub-one-minute-fifty-two-
Julien Lieber: « The weekend started well but didn’t finish so well! I got a great start in the first moto and I had a good feeling and good lines on the track; I found a spot to pass Seewer for the second position and my rhythm was so good that I made a little gap on him. I wasn’t pushing so hard and at the bottom of the big hill I always took a line on the left of the track as it wasn’t so bumpy there. I don’t understand what happened; it was a huge crash and I’m so disappointed to finish the weekend like that.”
François Lemariey: « After his good qualification yesterday Julien was doing a great race in the first moto and could expect a podium finish until he crashed at the bottom of the biggest uphill; it seems that he hit a soft patch and lost control of the bike, and this section was so fast that he was ejected a long way and landed pretty heavily. The first examinations have revealed an injury to his left elbow; he’s on his way back to Belgium for more examinations and surgery. We love motocross, but sometimes this sport doesn’t reward you from your dedication.”
