Clement Desalle underwent successfull surgery
La MXGP della Russia è stata dura per Clement Desalle ma anche per altri due piloti Kawasaki che ora stanno recuperando con la loro famiglia dalle ferite.
Il round russo del FIM Motocross World Championship è stato un successo per la Kawasaki nelle ultime due stagioni con le vittorie in GP per Clément Desalle e il team Kawasaki Racing Monster Energy nella classe MXGP. Mentre si stava battendo ancora per un risultato sul podio lo scorso fine settimana, il belga ha avuto un incidente piuttosto grosso nella prima gara ed è tornato lunedì in patria per fare un intervento chirurgico con il dottor Claes. Ha subito un intervento chirurgico di successo per la sua tibia-perone sinistra rotta, ma ha anche subito una distorsione alla caviglia destra e sta ora entrando in un lungo programma di recupero.
Il team viaggerà questo fine settimana in Lettonia con Julien Lieber, che si sente sempre più a suo agio sulla moto e sta migliorando i suoi risultati ogni fine settimana; settimo in Portogallo, Julien segna un sesto posto assoluto in Francia e di nuovo lo scorso fine settimana in Russia, nonostante una cattiva scelta.
François Lemariey (team manager): “Siamo rimasti delusi lo scorso fine settimana quando Clément si è schiantato duramente su questa pista ad alta velocità, ma si spera che l’intervento sia andato a buon fine e Clément abbia ora avviato un lungo programma di recupero. Non possiamo dire per quanto tempo sarà fuori, ma l’intera squadra è ovviamente dietro di lui e gli auguriamo una buona ripresa. Ora restiamo concentrati su Julien, che mostra i grandi miglioramenti del GP e si sta avvicinando ai risultati da podio; siamo sicuri che è in grado di qualificarsi meglio che lo aiuterà domenica e siamo felici di vedere che le sessioni di test che abbiamo svolto con lui nelle ultime settimane lo aiutano a ottenere risultati migliori “.

The MXGP of Russia was a tough one for Clement Desalle but also for two other Kawasaki riders who are each now recovering with their family from their injuries.
The Russian round of the FIM Motocross World Championship has been a success for Kawasaki during the past two seasons with overall GP victories for Clément Desalle and the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team in the premier MXGP class. Whilst battling again for a podium result last weekend the Belgian had a pretty big crash in the first race and was back on Monday in his homeland to have surgery with Doctor Claes. He underwent successful surgery to his broken left tibia-fibula but he’s also suffering from a right ankle sprain and is now entering a long recovery programme.
The team will travel this weekend to Latvia with Julien Lieber, who feels more and more comfortable on the bike and is improving his results each weekend; seventh in Portugal, Julien scores a sixth overall in France and again last weekend in Russia, despite a bad gate pick.
François Lemariey (team manager): “We were disappointed last weekend when Clément crashed hard on this high speed track, but hopefully the surgery went Ok and Clément has now start a long recovery program. We can’t say how long he will be out, but the entire team is of course behind him and wish him a good recovery. Now we stay focus alongside Julien, who show in the past GP’s big improvements and is coming closer to podium results; we are sure that is he can qualify better that will help him on Sunday, and we’re happy to see that the testing sessions we did with him in the past weeks help him to get better results.”
