Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Highlights:
True Value Thunder Valley National

Round 3 of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship brought the fastest riders on the planet to the highest elevation of any professional motocross track in the world. Nestled at the foot of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, a stone’s throw from downtown Denver, Thunder Valley Motocross Park sits at a towering 6,108 feet and provides a unique challenge to both the athletes and the motorcycles. As a result, the scenic mountainside venue has continuously produced exceptional racing for well over a decade. Last Saturday’s landmark 15th running of the True Value Thunder Valley National was no different, with fierce competition across both the 450 Class and 250 Class.

While the huge crowd on hand did all they could to cheer on Colorado native Eli Tomac to a second straight 450 Class victory at his home race, the reigning back-to-back champ and entering point leader was outperformed by Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen. The German was exceptionally consistent, and prevailed to take his second win of the season, which also wrestled away control of the red plate from his Monster Energy Kawasaki rival.

In the 250 Class, the battle for victory once again came down to Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo and Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Justin Cooper. The lead duo have traded moto wins since the start of the season, and that trend continued at Thunder Valley. While Cooper was closer than ever to breaking through for his first career win, a late crash while leading ultimately opened the door for Cianciarulo to make it three in a row to start the season.

See the best of what unfolded at Thunder Valley!
