Pietramurata (Trentino – Italia) 3 Aprile 2019 – Il 3° dei 3 back to back fine settimana di gare porta al Trentino, Italia per il 4^° round del 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship questo Sabato e Domenica! Insieme contro le Dolomiti d’Italia del 2019 MXGP del Trentino ospiterà anche la prima tappa italiana delle tre in questa stagione.

Il bel luogo Pietramurata è tutt’altro che tipica con la sua posizione straordinaria insieme ai dintorni. Il circuito sarà la prima gara su terreno duro del 2019, ma con la pioggia prevista tutto è possibile. I tifosi italiani sono attesi come sempre e anche alcuni dei più appassionati tifosi al mondo con l’atmosfera creata nessuno escluso.

Le classi aggiunte di questo fine settimana del Campionato FIM Motocross Europa comprendono la categoria EMX250 e EMX125. Il first class EMX250 ha corso in Gran Bretagna, dove del Team Maddii corse Husqvarna Alberto Forato ha avuto una posizione dominante 1-1. Lo scorso fine settimana è stato anche wild card nella MX2 dove ha segnato un impressionante 7^° assoluto. Questo fine settimana i rendimenti italiani alla classe EMX250 per il turno casalingo contro 92 altri piloti nella classe.

EMX125 terrà anche la seconda prova al GO del Trentino dopo il primo ciak svolto lo scorso fine settimana a Valkenswaard. Attuale leader di classifica della categoria proviene dalla stessa squadra e corre per Maddii Husqvarna come Forato, ed è Mattia Guadagnini. L’italiano combatterà contro 100 piloti ultracompetitivi nella qualifica per la seconda settimana di fila.

MXGP of Trentino – Pietramurata 2019: Entry List, Timetable

Continuando la tradizione GP di casa è Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli come sottolinea il leader MXGP. Cairoli ha vinto il GP Trentino 3 volte dei suoi 6 tentativi e da parte il suo peggior risultato di 5^°non ha mai finito fuori dal podio. Anche se il siciliano ha visto molto successo qui nella sede di casa che non è il suo tracciato preferito e con il ricco calendario sarà interessante vedere come si gestisce il fine settimana.

Dal Team HRC Tim Gajser è stato il pilota più veloce a non vincere quest’anno e questo è in gran parte a causa dei suoi enormi incidenti agli ultimi due turni. Anche così lo sloveno ha un record perfetto di podi finora e con i tifosi previsti per fare il viaggio attraverso il confine con la Slovenia, Gajser è l’altro favorito per la vittoria in Trentino in questo fine settimana. Gajser ha vinto la categoria MX2 qui nel 2015, ha raggiunto il podio nel 2016 e nel 2017, ma è finito 7^° lo scorso anno.

Standing Construct KTM Max Anstie è uno da guardare questo fine settimana dopo aver guidato i primi giri nei Paesi Bassi prima di un piccolo ma costoso errore che lo ha arretrato. Il britannico ha avuto un top 5 risultato in Trentino durante la sua campagna in MX2 2015, ma con la pioggia prevista i suoi anni di allenamento nel fango britannico potrebbero aiutarlo a spingersi sul podio per la prima volta in questa stagione.

Bisogna inoltre tenere presente Monster Energy Kawasaki Belgio Racing Team Clement Desalle che ha preso il 2^° complessivo lo scorso fine settimana e in questo GP dello scorso anno. Desalle ha sorpreso anche se stesso con il risultato in Olanda dopo l’infortunio alla mano una settimana prima. 

Il connazionale belga Jeremy Van Horebeek da Honda SR Motoblouz ha fatto spese dure attraverso il campo nei Paesi Bassi per legare i punti per il 3^° complessivo, ma finisce 4^°. Miglior risultato Trentino di Van Horebeek arriva a partire dal 2014 quando ha finito 2^° dietro Desalle.

Ulteriori piloti preferiti dai fan italiani in questa settimana includono Standing Construct KTM Ivo Monticelli e di Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki Alessandro Lupino. Monticelli ha guardato come un nuovo pilota finora combattendo nella top ten e ha anche dimostrato di essere un cliente difficile da passare nella battaglia per la top 5 la scorsa settimana.

La categoria MX2 è attualmente guidata da Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Thomas Kjer Olsen ma il ritorno del campione a difendere la MX2 Jorge Prado e la sua Red Bull KTM Factory Racing è stato un dominio Domenica scorsa in Olanda.

Prado ha forti ricordi trentini, visto che ha vinto il suo primo MX2 complessivo qui nel 2017 poi ha conquistato la vittoria ancora una volta lo scorso anno. Inoltre, Prado ora considera l’Italia la sua seconda casa mentre si allena e vive con la squadra De Carli con base italiana. Tutto ciò è unito a lui come favorito per questo fine settimana.

Oltre a Olsen cercano di prendere la vittoria lontano da Prado F & H corsa Kawasaki Henry Jacobi che sarà alla ricerca della sua prima vittoria in carriera. Il tedesco ha fatto enormi passi avanti nella sua guida ed è stato costantemente in lotta per i primi 5, se non il podio finora in questa stagione. Il miglior risultato di carriera di Jacobi prima del 2^° complessivo in Gran Bretagna due settimane fa era il suo 3^° posto qui(Pietramurata) nel 2018.

Del Team HRC Calvin Vlaanderen è 2^° nei punti attualmente ma ha mancato di poco il podio con il 4^° posto terminato il ciascuno dei primi tre round di questa stagione. Vlaanderen vuole migliorare i suoi risultati di almeno una posizione e potrebbe portarlo ancora più avanti in questo fine settimana.

Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha ufficiale di Ben Watson MX2 e Jago Geerts sarà un duo da guardare questa settimana dopo che Geerts ha raggiunto il podio con un ultimo passaggio sul giro nei confronti di Olsen. Watson è attualmente 5^° nella classifica punti, ma una questione o altro ha tenuto il pilota britannico lontano dal raggiungere il suo pieno potenziale.

Altri piloti da notare questo fine settimana includono la voce italiana, Yamaha SM Action MC Migliori Michele Cervellin e la recente firma del pilota Bud Racing Kawasaki Mitchell Harrison dagli Stati Uniti. Cervellin è un nativo della regione che lo rende un vero GP di casa, mentre Harrison ha corso 3 GP nella categoria MX2 con un 5^° al 2017 Monster Energy MXGP degli Stati Uniti, 3^° al 2016 Monster Energy MXGP degli Stati Uniti, e 7^° al 2016 Monster Energy MXGP delle Americhe.

MXGP Takes to Trentino

PIETRAMURATA (Trentino – Italy) 03 April 2019 – The 3rd of 3 back to back weekends of racing takes to Trentino, Italy for the 4^th round of the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship this Saturday and Sunday! Set against the Dolomite Mountains of Italy the 2019 MXGP of Trentino will also host the first Italian round of three this season. 

The beautiful Pietramurata venue is far from typical with its amazing location and surroundings. The circuit will be the first hard pack race of 2019 but with rain expected anything is possible. The Italian fans are expected in force as always and as some of the most passionate in the world the atmosphere created will be bar none.

This weekend’s addition classes of the FIM Europe Motocross Championship include the EMX250 category and EMX125 presented by FMF Racing. The EMX250 class lasrt raced in Great Britain where Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato had a dominant 1-1 showing. Last weekend Forato was a wild card entry into MX2 where he scored an impressive 7^thoverall. This weekend the Italian returns to the EMX250 class for the home round against 92 other entries into the class. 

EMX125 presented by FMF Racing will also hold its second round in Trentino after the first take place last weekend in Valkenswaard. The category’s current points leader hails from the same Maddii Racing Husqvarnateam as Forato, Mattia Guadagnini. The Italian will fight against 100 ultracompetitive entries for the second week in a row.

 

Continuing the home GP tradition is Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli as the MXGP points leader. Cairoli has won the Trentino GP 3 times of his 6 attempts and aside his worst result of 5^th he has never finished off the podium. Though the Sicilian has seen much success here the home venue is not his favorite and with the packed schedule it will be interesting to see how he handles the weekend.

Team HRC’s Tim Gajser has been the fastest rider not to win this year and this is mostly due to his massive crashes at the past two rounds. Even so the Slovenian has a perfect podium record so far and with the added fans expected to make the trip across the Slovenian border Gajser is the other favorite for the win in Trentino this weekend. Gajser won the MX2 category here in 2015, reached the podium in 2016 and 2017 but finished 7^th last year.

Standing Construct KTM’s Max Anstie is one to watch this weekend after leading laps in the Netherlands before a small but costly error set him back. The Brit had a top 5 result in Trentino during his 2015 MX2 campaign but with potential rain forecasted his years of British mud riding could help propel him to the podium for the first time this season.

Also worth considering is Belgium’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team rider Clement Desalle who took 2^ndoverall last weekend and at this very GP last year. Desalle surprised even himself with the result in the Netherlands after injuring his hand one week prior. Winning the Trentino GP in 2014 and taking the past two wins on the MXGP of Russia’s similar soil don’t be surprised to see the “MX panda” back on the podium.

Belgian compatriot Jeremy van Horebeek from Honda SR Motoblouz made hard charges through the field in the Netherlands to tie in points for 3^rd overall but finish 4^th. Van Horebeek’s best Trentino result also comes from 2014 when he finished 2^nd behind Desalle.

Additional Italian fans’ favorites this week include Standing Construct KTM’s Ivo Monticelli and Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki’s Alessandro Lupino. Monticelli has looked like a new rider so far this year battling in the top ten and even proving to be a hard customer to pass in the battle for the top 5 last week.

The MX2 category is currently led by Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Thomas Kjer Olsen but the return of defending MX2 Champion Jorge Prado and his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine was a dominant one last Sunday in Holland. 

Prado has strong memories from Trentino as well seeing as he won his first ever MX2 overall here in 2017 then took the win again last year. In addition, Prado now considers Italy his second home as he rides and lives with the Italian based De Carli squad. All of which combined make him the favorite for this weekend. 

Aside from Olsen looking to take the win away from Prado F&H Racing Kawasaki’s Henry Jacobi will be looking for his first career win. The German has made massive strides in his riding as of late and has consistently been battling for the top 5 if not the podium so far this season. Jacobi’s career best finish prior to the 2^ndoverall in Great Britain two weeks ago was his 3^rd place here in 2018.

Team HRC’s Calvin Vlaanderen is 2^nd in the points presently but has just missed the podium with 4^th place finishes at each of the first three rounds this season. Vlaanderen’s drive to improve his results by at least one position could take him even further forward this weekend.

Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha Official MX2’s Ben Watson and Jago Geerts will be one to watch this week after Geerts reached the podium via a last lap pass on Olsen days ago. Watson currently is 5^th in the points standings but one issue or another has held the British rider from reaching his full potential.

Other riders to note this weekend include the Italian entry, Yamaha SM Action MC Migliori’s Michele Cervellinand newly signed BUD Racing Kawasaki rider Mitchell Harrison from the USA. Cervellin is a native of the region making it a true home GP while Harrison has raced 3 prior GP’s in the MX2 category scoring 5^th at the 2017 Monster Energy MXGP of the USA, 3^rd at the 2016 Monster Energy MXGP of the USA, and 7^th at the 2016 Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas.
