LA SECONDA VITA DI MARC DE REUVER
L’ex pilota del Grand Prix Marc de Reuver è stato uno dei piloti olandesi di maggior successo, vincendo GP in tutte le classi, e ora sta entrando in un’altra carriera come allenatore dei piloti Kawasaki F & H.
E per chi si fosse perso una nostra intervista, qui sotto la trovate e poi le sue parole da esperto nel settore “preparazione” piloti, una figura che al giorno d’oggi non dovrebbe mancare in ogni Team!
Marc de Reuver, trentaseienne, ha iniziato a correre quando aveva cinque anni e si è ritirato nel 2015 dopo venticinque stagioni in pista, dove ha ottenuto non meno di otto titoli nazionali in tutte le classi da 50 a MX1 durante la sua lunga carriera. Ha corso i GP per quindici anni sia come pilota privato che come pilota ufficiale, ma non ha mai conseguito il titolo mondiale che aveva sognato.
“Non sono mai stato campione del mondo; Penso che avrei potuto esserlo almeno tre volte ma molte cose accadono. I miei errori, gli errori delle altre persone, questa è la vita “, ha ammesso dopo aver aiutato il lettone Pauls Jonass a diventare campione del mondo MX2 due anni fa.
Quando Marc si ritirò dalle competizioni nel 2015, affrontò alcuni momenti difficili, così come molti corridori quando finiscono la loro carriera e devono trovare un nuovo scopo nella vita.
“Mi sono sentito davvero depresso quando ho dovuto smettere di correre. Ho iniziato quando avevo cinque anni e tu vedi quando sta arrivando la fine. Passi da un Team factory ad una squadra privata, quindi poi si fermano i GP e passi a fare solo il campionato nazionale; tu cerchi di continuare a guadagnare come sai e che la fine arriverà presto. Ho avuto davvero grossi problemi per affrontarlo, ma ora sono tornato dove voglio essere; Posso mostrare il mio pieno potenziale e questo è bello. Mi sento davvero bene nel mio nuovo lavoro; Posso riferire solo cose buone! Harry e Nathalie Fasé di F & H Kawasaki sono persone fantastiche. Mi sento parte della famiglia nella squadra e mi lascia fare le mie cose; si fida di me e tu mi conosci, a volte posso essere un po ‘pazzo fuori dalla pista, ma quando vado al lavoro sono molto serio “, ha spiegato, ridendo con il suo solito buon umore.
Nella sua seconda stagione con il team F & H Kawasaki, conosce lo staff e ha avuto il tempo di preparare la bassa stagione insieme ai suoi piloti. Conosceva già Adam Sterry dall’anno scorso e ha imparato a conoscere due nuovi giovani quest’anno, Henry Jacobi e Roan van de Moosdijk.
“Quest’inverno ho conosciuto due nuovi riders; questo è il problema principale nel mio lavoro in quanto tutti i piloti sono diversi e hai bisogno di tempo per imparare a conoscerli. Se avessi tre piloti simili, sarebbe molto più facile! Henry è molto forte nella sua testa e molto aggressivo sulla moto; ora ha solo bisogno di seguire un piano come atleta professionista. Roan è molto giovane, è sempre stato con mamma e papà ed è il primo anno in cui lavora in un team davvero professionale; durante la settimana è così veloce, ora ha bisogno di fare lo stesso nei fine settimana ed è per questo che voglio che faccia un altro anno in EMX. Sarebbe un errore metterlo nei GP troppo presto perché è molto giovane. Adam è arrivato un po ‘”rotto” fisicamente quando abbiamo iniziato a lavorare insieme durante la stagione l’anno scorso, ma è un ragazzo molto forte e penso che abbiamo una buona preparazione con questi tre ragazzi, “ l’analisi di Marc la fa mentre la serie si trasferisce a Valkenswaard questo fine settimana per il “GP di casa” della squadra olandese. Dopo un weekend eccellente in Gran Bretagna, dove Henry e Roan hanno entrambi ottenuto un risultato sul podio, Marc si aspetta molti altri momenti salienti durante la stagione:
“Abbiamo avuto un ottimo inverno con Roan, Henry e Adam come tutti hanno potuto vedere durante i primi due GP. Adam è stato sfortunato; ha commesso piccoli errori, altrimenti sarebbe anche il primo in alcune manche. Lavoro a tempo pieno con i ragazzi; Io vivo vicino alla squadra e siamo tutti molto vicini. Li seguo in pista ma anche nella loro vita privata; il più grande è l’approccio mentale e ho una buona connessione con loro. E se la connessione è lì, possiamo raggiungere i nostri obiettivi. Affrontiamo una stagione davvero lunga, ma sono fiducioso perché lavoriamo sodo, abbiamo una moto davvero buona e penso che quest’anno raggiungeremo qualcosa di speciale “.

Former Grand Prix rider Marc de Reuver has been one of the most successful Dutch Grand Prix rider, winning GPs in all classes, and is now entering another career as coach of the F&H Kawasaki riders.
Thirty-six year old Marc de Reuver started racing when he was five years old and retired in 2015 after twenty-five seasons on the tracks were he earned no less than eight national titles in all classes from 50cc to MX1 during his long career. He raced the GPs for fifteen years as both a privateer and as a factory rider, but never attained the world title he had dreamt of. “I’ve never been world champion; I think I could have been at least three times but many things happen. My mistakes, other people’s mistakes, that’s life,” he admitted after helping Latvian Pauls Jonass to become MX2 World Champion two years ago.
When Marc retired from racing in 2015 he faced some tough moments, as do many riders when they end their career and have to find a new purpose in life. “I felt really depressed when I had to stop racing. I started when I was five years old, and you see when the end is coming. You move from a factory to a private team, then you stop the GPs to do only the national championship; you try to keep on earning as you know the end is coming soon. I had really big problems facing up to that, but now I’m back where I want to be; I can show my full potential and that’s nice. I feel really good in my new job; I can report only good things! Harry and Nathalie Fasé from F&H Kawasaki are great persons. I feel like part of the family in the team and he let me do my thing; he trusts me and you know me, sometimes I can be a little bit crazy outside the track but when I come to work I’m very serious,” he explained, laughing with his usual good humour.
In his second season with the F&H Kawasaki team, he knows the staff and had time to prepare the off-season alongside his riders. He knew Adam Sterry already from last year and has learnt two new youngsters this year in Henry Jacobi and Roan van de Moosdijk. “This winter I got to know two new riders; that’s the main problem in my job as all riders are different and you need time to learn about them. If you had three similar riders that would be so much easier! Henry is really strong in his head and very aggressive on the bike; now he just needs to follow a plan as a pro athlete. Roan is very young, he has always been with mom and dad and it’s the first year that he works in a truly professional team; during the week he’s so fast, now he needs to do the same at the weekends and that’s why I want him to do one more year in EMX. It would be a mistake to put him in the GPs too early as he is very young. Adam came a little bit ‘broken’ physically when we started to work together during the season last year, but he is a very strong guy and I think we have a good line-up with these three guys,” is Marc’s analysis as the series moves to Valkenswaard this weekend for the ‘home GP’ of the Dutch squad. After an excellent weekend in Great Britain where Henry and Roan each scored a podium result, Marc is expecting many more highlights during the season: “We had a really good winter with Roan, Henry and Adam as everyone could see during the first two GPs. Adam has been unlucky; he made small errors otherwise he would also be top five in some motos. I work full-time with the boys; I live near the team and we are all very close. I follow them on the track but also in their private life; the biggest think is the mental approach and I have a very good connection with them. And if the connection is there we can reach our goals. We face a really long season but I’m confident as we work hard, we have a really good bike and I think we’ll achieve some special things this year.”
