11° round del campionato Supercross, la metà del campionato è superata e ora mancano solo 6 gare, così ad INDY c’è stato spettacolo, tracciato difficile e gare disputate, ha dato un vincitore che sembra volere non mollare la lotta al titolo. Marvin Musquin: “È sempre una pista difficile qui a Indy, ma è sempre stato buono con me. Ho vinto due volte sulla 250 e ora due volte sulla 450, quindi ovviamente mi piace venire qui. L’ho pensato durante il fine settimana e, sai, l’anno scorso ho vinto qui, quindi ero eccitato per la gara e penso che sia arrivato stasera. “Sicuramente l’inizio era tutto. Ero molto fiducioso sin dall’inizio. Ho avuto una grande scelta del gate e l’ho fatta accadere. Da quel momento ero solo in sella a me stesso e ho evitato l’errore … La pista era decisamente dura e non ero in quella posizione dall’anno scorso. Sicuramente [ero] un po ‘stretto. Stavo cercando di spingere, ma quella pista era davvero dura, super mossa nei solchi. È stato davvero difficile essere semplicemente fluidi e coerenti. Quindi stavo andando un po ‘stretto e ho visto che stavano arrivando e ho fatto del mio meglio per non essere superato, penso fosse Baggett; Pensavo fosse una moto arancione dietro di me e pensavo che, se non mi ha superato, potevo farlo arrivare fino alla fine. Questo è quello che è successo quindi sono davvero felice, finalmente, quindi continuiamo andando ora.”
Blake Baggett: “La pista ha iniziato a piacermi mentre stavo spingendo, cercando di arrivare avanti. Poi siamo entrati in contatto coi doppiati e vogliono correre su di te. È difficile, sai, sono nella loro stessa gara ma a volte si ritrovano nel mezzo della tua gara e fanno casino. ”
Cooper Webb: “Un podio per KTM ancora una volta è bello, Lo prendo! Per me è stata una gara difficile. Non ho avuto la miglior partenza quindi ho dovuto fare qualche passaggio e poi ho fatto spegnere la moto e perso un paio di posizioni. Ero piuttosto stanco di ciò perché mi sentivo in una buona posizione per vincere. Non è stato il mio miglior Main Event, quindi sono in pompa per ottenere ancora il terzo posto. E ‘stata una gara difficile. Non è stata una brutta partenza, ma il modo in cui la pista era stasera un holeshot era davvero importante. Penso di essere uscito quinto, ero proprio lì nel mix, eravamo tutti lì messi bene. Ho avuto un momento alla Ricky Carmichael, come quando atterrò sulle protezioni, sono stato fortunato a salvarlo. Guardandolo sullo schermo era proprio, woah, quello era un vero RC moment. Ma è stato un buon salvataggio…. La pista era dura, spingevamo tutti, era facile sbagliare, c’era un sacco di traffico, ed era difficile, ma era bello avere uno stallo e poi quel momento e lottare ancora lì sul podio; è stato bello. È bello vedere la vittoria di Marv. È abbastanza speciale. Ovviamente voglio vincere, ma è bello essere qui ed è stata una bella battaglia questa sera. Penso che ai fan sia piaciuto molto. ”
Eli Tomac (4 °): “”Stasera è stata una pillola dura da inghiottire per me. Ho guidato bene stasera, ma un paio di errori minori su una pista difficile mi sono costati. Sono felice di andare via da qui sano e non vedo l’ora di andare a Seattle il prossimo fine settimana. ”
Justin Barcia (5 °): “Dopo un paio di settimane difficili, davvero mesi, da quando ha vinto Anaheim, è stato difficile. Poi il mio infortunio è stato abbastanza grande per me, in realtà, quindi per me ho pensato che sarebbe stato difficile tornare da esso. La cosa fondamentale per me era solo di mettermi comodo e tornare in zona e ho progredito tutto il giorno. Non mi piace dire che mi sono sorpreso, ma in qualche modo mi sono sorpreso stasera. Sono rimasto abbastanza calmo tutto il giorno, paziente. Ken Roczen (8 °): “”Non c’è molto da dire su Indianapolis, non è stato un buon fine settimana per me, non posso guidare e allenarmi al massimo delle mie potenzialità, sto cercando di capire cosa sta succedendo e spero di ottenere qualche risposta presto mi sono stancato e non sono sicuro del perché, ora sto solo cercando di concentrarmi sul mio corpo come se non potessi combattere e guidare come se fossi all’inizio della stagione. Ovviamente non sono dove voglio arrivare, ma se c’è una cosa buona da portare via siamo fisicamente sani e ci dirigiamo verso Seattle “.
COMMENTO VINCITORE DELLA LITES 250SX
Austin Forkner: “Yeah! Quella corsa di quali è stata mia, ma ho rinunciato. Abbastanza semplice, sono andato troppo forte nella prima curva e questo mi ha lasciato con un decimo. Non ne sono nemmeno sicuro, penso di aver ottenuto il quinto, quindi il nono o il decimo selezionamento era tosto. Ero così motivato, però, ed ero così fiducioso con le mie partenze che non mi importava davvero dove dovevo schierarmi, ero tipo, ‘Non importa, sto mettendo la moto davanti . Se quello è il primo o quello è il terzo, in entrambi i casi posso lavorarci. “Ho finito per ottenere l’holeshot, credo; eravamo molto vicini, io e un ragazzo Yamaha, non sono sicuro di chi fosse. Ho fatto il pass stick nella sezione ritmica e ho solo provato a fare giri fluidi. Marvin Musquin: “It’s always a tough track here in Indy, but it’s always been good to me. I won twice on the 250 and now twice on the 450, so obviously I love coming here. I thought about it coming into the weekend and, you know, I won here last year so I was excited for the racing and I think it showed tonight. “Definitely the start. I was really confident off the start. I had a great gate pick and made it happen. From that it was just riding [within] myself and mistake free… The track was definitely pretty tough and I haven’t been in that position since last year. Definitely [I was] a little bit tight. I was trying to push, but that track was really hard, super choppy in the ruts. It was really hard to be just be smooth and consistent. So I was riding a little tight and I saw they were coming and just tried my best not to get passed by, I think it was Baggett; I thought it was orange behind me, and I was like, ‘If he doesn’t pass me I can make it happen all the way to the finish.’ That’s what happened so I’m really happy, finally, so let’s keep it going now.”
Blake Baggett: “The track just started coming to me and I was pushing, trying to get toward the front. Then we got into lappers, and they want to race you. It’s tough, you know, they’re in their own race but sometimes they just get in the middle of your race and mess things up.”
Cooper Webb: “A podium sweep for KTM once again is nice, I’ll take it! For me, it was a tough race. I didn’t get the best start so I had to make some passes and then I stalled the bike and lost a couple positions. I was pretty bummed on that because I felt like I was in a good position to win. It wasn’t my best Main Event, so I was pumped to still get third with it. It was a tough main. It wasn’t a bad start but the way the track was tonight a holeshot was really important. I think I came out fifth and was good, I was right there in the mix, we were all right there. I think I made a pass around Eli and Joey and then I actually stalled the bike, so that kind of stuff, lost some positions. And I caught back up,” Webb said while watching his near-crash on the stadium screen, “[I] had a Ricky [Carmichael] moment, landed on the bails, was lucky to save that. Watching it right now, woah, that was a true RC. But it was a good salvage. To stall it, have that moment, and in the end I was making a run. The track was hard, we were all pushing, it was easy to make mistakes, there was a lot of lapped traffic, and it was tough, but it was good to have a stall and then that moment and still fight up there on podium; it was cool. It’s cool to have Marv win, another KTM sweep, third one of the year. It’s pretty special. Obviously I want to win, but it’s good to be up here and it was a good battle tonight. I think the fans really enjoyed it.”
Eli Tomac (4°): “Tonight was a tough pill to swallow for me. I rode well tonight but a couple minor errors on a tricky track ultimately cost me. I am happy to be leaving here healthy and already looking forward to Seattle next weekend.”
Justin Barcia (5°): “After having a tough couple of weeks, months really, since winning Anaheim, it’s been difficult. Then my injury was pretty huge to me, actually, so for me I thought it was going to be difficult to come back from it. The basic thing for me was just to get comfortable and get back in the zone and I progressed all day. I don’t like saying I surprised myself, but I kind of surprised myself tonight. I stayed pretty calm all day, patient. I didn’t really let being off the pace a little bit in practice frustrate me, I just stayed focused, used my positive thinking and good mentality and it was a good race. It was a solid race for the first race back. We definitely want to keep progressing from here and get back on the podium. We’ll take a fifth and move on to next weekend.”
Zach Osborne (7°): ““In the Main Event, I had a really bad gate and made a really good start of it to put myself in a good position to hang in there. I made some mistakes but I have to take the positive of turning a bad day into a good day and a decent result and move forward.”
Ken Roczen (8°): ““There isn’t much to say about Indianapolis. It just wasn’t a good weekend for us. I had some struggles during the week and over the past couple of weeks that have really held me back and have made it so I can’t ride and train to my full potential. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on and hopefully get some answers soon. I’ve just been getting tired and I’m not sure why. Right now I’m just trying to focus on getting my body and everything aligned so that I can fight back and ride like I was during the beginning of the season. I’m obviously not where I want to be at eighth, but if there’s a good thing to take away it’s that we’re physically healthy and heading to Seattle.”

THE COMMENT FROM THE WINNER OF 250SX
Austin Forkner: ““Yeah, definitely. That heat race was mine, I gave it up. Pretty simple I just went into the first turn too hard, and that left me with like tenth gate pick. I’m not even sure, I think I got fifth, so ninth or tenth gate pick. I was so motivated, though, and I was so confident with my starts that it didn’t really matter to me where I had to line up, I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter, I’m putting the bike up front. If that’s a first or that’s a top three, either way I can work with it.’ Ended up getting the holeshot, I think; we were real close along the back section, me and a Yamaha guy, I’m not sure who it was. I made the pass stick in the rhythm section and just tried to ride smooth laps. I didn’t really get the chance to do that in the Heat Race because I was getting through guys, so it was good to get out front and do some laps. I was pumped. I mean, smooth is fast, it’s that simple, and that was my goal tonight. I’m a little sick… so I knew that I couldn’t over-push because I just really didn’t have the strength to do that tonight. So smooth laps, jumping through the whoops, that got it done tonight.”
