JWR Yamaha Racing rattristati di annunciare che Kevin Strijbos, sei volte vincitore del Gran Premio nella classe regina, salterà sei-otto settimane con un infortunio al gomito riemergente. Il problema lo ritrovava attraverso la parte finale del periodo precedente e, di conseguenza, subì un intervento chirurgico dopo la fase finale dei GP in Italia. 

Kevin Strijbos riprese il suo normale programma di allenamento in moto all’inizio di gennaio e poi trascorse tre settimane nel sud della California, al fine di guidare in condizioni ottimali, ma è stato lì che ha avvertito qualche dolore nel suo gomito di nuovo. Un viaggio al medico al suo ritorno in Europa, ha rivelato che deve trascorrere da sei a otto settimane di riposo dalla moto e di conseguenza perderà Hawkstone internazionale. Il Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna è il primo round della FIM Motocross World Championship in cui JWR Yamaha Racing si schiererà. 

Johan Westermark (Team Manager): “Apprendere che Kevin Strijbos ha bisogno di trascorrere più tempo senza la moto era ovviamente un duro colpo per la squadra, ma ognuno è anche consapevole del fatto che questo è solo un piccolo urto in mezzo alla strada e la sua salute viene prima di tutto . Questo è ciò che conta per noi. Nel frattempo, Vsevolod Brylyakov e Anton Gole continueranno a fare grandi passi avanti sulla YZ450F.

JWR Yamaha Racing are saddened to report that Kevin Strijbos, a six-time Grand Prix winner in the premier class, will miss six to eight weeks with a recurring elbow injury. The issue restricted him through the final portion of the previous term and, consequently, he had surgery after the final round in Italy.
 
Kevin Strijbos resumed his normal riding programme at the start of January and then spent three weeks in Southern California, in order to ride in optimum conditions, but it was there that he experienced some pain in his elbow again. A trip to the doctor upon his return to Europe revealed that he has to spend six to eight weeks off of the bike and will consequently miss the upcoming Hawkstone International. The Grand Prix of Great Britain is the first FIM Motocross World Championship round that JWR Yamaha Racing will contest.

Johan Westermark (Team Manager): “Learning that Kevin Strijbos needs to spend more time off the bike was obviously a blow to the team, but everyone is also aware that this is just a small bump in the road and his health comes before everything else. That is what matters to us the most. In the meantime, Vsevolod Brylyakov and Anton Gole will continue to make great steps forward on the YZ450F. Bring on the first race!”
