PATUREL JOINS LUPINO AT GEBBEN VAN VENROOY IN 2019
Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki entra nel FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship del 2019 con un aumento di input da parte di Kawasaki Europe e un’entusiasmante gemellaggio con Alessandro Lupino e Benoit Paturel.
Lupino, un ventisettenne di Viterbo nella campagna ondulata a nord di Roma, si è unito al team olandese lo scorso inverno e quest’estate ha goduto della sua stagione di maggior successo da quando si è trasferito nella classe MXGP nel 2014. Il campione del mondo juniores è attualmente undicesimo nella classifica di serie con non meno di dodici score a doppia cifra già al suo attivo in questa stagione. Uno dei personaggi più amabili del paddock Alessandro si è gettato velocemente con l’entusiasta nella squadra ed entreranno nella loro seconda stagione insieme fiduciosi di ulteriori progressi dopo aver prolungato il suo contratto per altri due anni.

Paturel, il nuovo arrivato francese della squadra del Lione ha ancora solo ventitré anni, ha avuto una sfortunata prima stagione nella classe MXGP, afflitta da difficoltà contrattuali e una malattia, ma la medaglia di bronzo della MX2 2016 è ansiosa di riavere la sua carriera in pista mentre si unisce al team altamente professionale di Gebben Van Venrooy per la sua prima stagione con la nuova Kawasaki KX450F.
Il giovane danese Bastian Boegh Damm disputerà il round europeo del campionato del mondo MX2 per la squadra.
Alessandro Lupino: «Abbiamo fatto un buon lavoro quest’anno con la squadra; nessuno se lo aspetta, ma ci fidiamo l’uno dell’altro, quindi è stato facile decidere di rimanere insieme per altri due anni. Abbiamo un buon rapporto di lavoro e il team migliora il pacchetto ogni mese. Sono anche felice di dare il benvenuto a Benoit Paturel come mio compagno di squadra. Ci conosciamo bene e sicuramente sarà bello per entrambi lavorare e allenarci insieme quest’inverno. Andrò ad allenarmi sulla sabbia quest’inverno, anche se piove; questo è l’unico modo per fare il prossimo passo. dopo la MX of Nations inizieremo a provare la nuova Kawasaki e poi farò una vacanza con la famiglia per riorganizzarmi prima di iniziare la mia preparazione per il 2019. »
Benoit Paturel: «È fantastico firmare con questa squadra dopo una stagione così brutta per me; questa squadra ha fiducia in me e voglio mostrare loro cosa posso fare su un 450. Mi piace lo spirito di squadra, e sono sicuro che faremo un buon lavoro insieme. Al momento mi sto ancora riprendendo dalla febbre ghiandolare, ma mi sento meglio ogni settimana e non vedo l’ora di provare la nuova Kawasaki. Conosco già la Kawasaki mentre correvo diverse stagioni con Bud, e con Gebben correrò il campionato olandese così come i GP; sarà il miglior allenamento possibile su tutti i tipi di tracciati “.
Emile Gebben (proprietario del team): «Stiamo crescendo e vogliamo migliorare ogni anno, quindi firmare con Benoit al fianco di Alessandro è stata una grande opportunità per ottenere ancora più risultati nei dieci, o anche meglio! Come team privato è un grande passo avanti, e abbiamo già mostrato quest’anno con Alessandro e Maxime cosa possiamo fare. Il nostro obiettivo è essere un contendente regolare nella top ten di MXGP, e credo che i nostri piloti saranno in grado di farlo “.

Lupino, a twenty-seven year old from Viterbo in the rolling countryside north of Rome, joined the Dutch team last winter and this summer he has enjoyed his most successful season since moving to the premier MXGP class in 2014. The ex-world junior champion is currently eleventh in the series standings with no less than twelve double-figure scorelines already to his credit this season. One of the most amiable characters in the paddock Alessandro gelled quickly with the hard-working enthusiastic team crew and they will enter their second season together confident of yet further progress after extending his contract for a further two years.

Paturel, the French newcomer to the team from Lyon and still only twenty-three years old, has had an unfortunate first season in the MXGP class, beset by contractual difficulties and illness, but the 2016 MX2 bronze medallist is eager to get his career back on track as he joins the highly-professional Gebben Van Venrooy team for his first season racing the new Kawasaki KX450F.
Danish youngster Bastian Boegh Damm will contest the European rounds of the MX2 World Championship for the team.
Alessandro Lupino: « We have done a good job this year with the team; nobody expects that but we trust each other so it was easy to decide to stay together for two more years. We have a good working relationship and the team improve the package every month. I’m also happy to welcome Benoit Paturel as my teammate. We know each other well and for sure it will be good for both of us to work and train together this winter. I will go training in the sand this winter, even if it’s raining; that’s the only way to make the next step. after the MX of Nations we’ll start testing the new Kawasaki and then I will take a holiday with the family to regroup before starting my preparation for 2019. »
Benoit Paturel: « It’s great to sign with this team after such a bad season for me; this team trust in me and I want to show them what I can do on a 450. I like the team spirit, and I’m sure we’ll do a good job together. At the moment I’m still recovering from glandular fever, but I’m feeling better every week and I can’t wait to test the new Kawasaki. I know the Kawasaki already as I raced several seasons with Bud, and with Gebben I will race the Dutch championship as well as the GPs; it will be the best possible training on all types of track.”
Emile Gebben (team owner): « We’re growing up and we want to improve every year, so to sign Benoit alongside Alessandro was a great opportunity to get even more top ten results, or even better! As a private team it’s a big step forward, and we already showed this year with Alessandro and Maxime what we can do. Our goal is to be a regular contender in the top ten of MXGP, and I believe that our riders will be able to do that.”
