Weston Peick Signs Contract Extension with AutoTrader / Yoshimura / JGR / Suzuki Factory Racing
Weston Peick sta con Autotrader / Yoshimura Suzuki per la quinta stagione con il programma ufficiale, il team ha annunciato la firma. Peick, il cui contratto era scaduto, firmò un’estensione per rimanere con la squadra per la stagione 2019.
Peick ha guidato la maggior parte della stagione 2018 con tendini strappati della mano, ma ha comunque concluso sesto assoluto in Monster Energy Supercross e ottavo in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross. Il nativo della California ha saltato l’ultimo round del Pro Motocross per sottoporsi ad un intervento chirurgico ma ha segnato punti in 28 gare su 29 in questa stagione.
“Sono entusiasta di continuare questa collaborazione”, ha detto Peick. “La squadra è stata come una famiglia per me sin dal primo giorno che ho firmato con loro. Essere in grado di circondarmi di un così grande gruppo di professionisti è stata un’esperienza fantastica. Non vedo l’ora di migliorare i miei risultati l’anno prossimo e di avere un’altra stagione sulla Suzuki RM-Z450. Lo sviluppo è andato molto bene, e saremo in testa alla partita con Anaheim Supercross. ”
Il team manager Jeremy Albrecht è felice di continuare a lavorare con Peick. “Weston è stato fantastico per noi. È un giocatore di squadra e anche molto duro. Apprezzo che abbia guidato col dolore ad una mano ferita quest’anno e ha dato il massimo. Ha prodotto buoni risultati quando probabilmente altri piloti nella stessa situazione avrebbero gettato la spugna. Anche Weston si adatta bene alla Suzuki RM-Z450. C’è una grande sinergia con quell’associazione. ”
Peick, 27 anni, entrerà nella sua undicesima stagione professionale nel 2019.
JGR ha attualmente due piloti sotto contratto nella classe 450 per il 2019, Peick si unisce a Justin Hill, che lo scorso anno ha firmato un contratto biennale con la squadra.

Weston Peick is returning to Autotrader/Yoshimura Suzuki for a fifth season with the factory program, the team announced today. Peick, whose contract was up, signed an extension to remain with the team for the 2019 season.
“I’m excited to continue this partnership,” Peick said. “The team has been like a family to me ever since the first day I signed with them. Being able to surround myself with such a great group of professionals has been an awesome experience. I’m looking forward to improving my results next year and having another season on the Suzuki RM-Z450. Development has gone very well, and we will be ahead of the game heading into the Anaheim Supercross opener.”
Team manager Jeremy Albrecht is happy to continue working with Peick. “Weston has been great for us. He is a team player, and also very tough. I appreciate that he rode through the pain of an injured hand this year and gave it his all. He produced good results when other riders in that same situation probably would have thrown in the towel. Weston also really gels well with the Suzuki RM-Z450. There’s great synergy with that pairing.”
JGR currently has two riders under contract in the 450 Class for 2019, as Peick joins Justin Hill, who signed a two-year deal with the team last year.
