Anstie alla ricerca di opzioni quando la porta HRC si chiude?
Il pilota ufficiale Husqvarna Max Anstie è uno dei numerosi piloti che ancora cercano conferma per la sella nel 2019 e le voci sul Gran Premio del Belgio lo scorso fine settimana hanno indicato che l’inglese non troverà un ormeggio in HRC accanto a Tim Gajser.
Dalla sua commozione cerebrale e infortunio al Grand Prix della Comunitat Valenciana al terzo round della serie, Anstie ha faticato a realizzare il potenziale mostrato al Motocross delle Nazioni 2017 e sulla scia di un forte finale al suo debutto sulla Rockstar Energy IceOne Husqvarna all’ultima stagione.
Anstie ha conquistato un discreto terzo posto a Lommel per il suo secondo trofeo dell’anno e solo sesto per la squadra ed è stato interrogato sul suo futuro dopo essere stato informato al Gran Premio di Francia (decimo round) che non sarebbe stato tenuto un terzo pilota nella squadra supportata dalla factory di Kimi Raikkonen.
“Ancora niente”, ha detto il 25enne. “Al momento sono concentrato sul mio lavoro e faccio il miglior lavoro possibile con il mio team. So che hanno messo tutto dietro di me e il mio compagno di squadra e questi sono i risultati [il suo podio di Lommel] che dobbiamo ottenere. Hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro e sono professionali come possono esserlo sempre “.
Anstie era presumibilmente in trattativa con la Honda, in quanto la squadra aveva qualche preoccupazione per lo stato di infortunio al piede di Brian Bogers con l’olandese non ancora in gara quest’anno dopo il suo incidente di pre-campionato. Gli ultimi pettegolezzi hanno coinvolto HRC preparati a dare a Bogers il suo esordio nel MXGP nel 2019, lasciando ad Anstie la possibilità di esplorare altre opzioni in un mercato molto limitato per i piloti.
Il britannico potrebbe “gareggiare” con l’attuale compagno di squadra Gautier Paulin per la seconda sella accanto ad Arnaud Tonus a Wilvo Yamaha e IceOne ha bisogno di confermare un secondo pilota al fianco di Arminas Jasikonis; sorprendentemente firmato dall’operazione Husqvarna il mese scorso.

Anstie searching for options as HRC door closes?
Factory Husqvarna rider Max Anstie is one of several riders still to confirm a saddle for 2019 and rumours at the Grand Prix of Belgium last weekend indicated that the Englishman will not find an HRC berth next to Tim Gajser.
Since his concussion and injury at the Grand Prix of Comunitat Valenciana and round three of the series Anstie has struggled to fulfil the potential shown at the 2017 Motocross of Nations and in the wake of a strong finish to his debut term on the Rockstar Energy IceOne Husqvarna last season.
Anstie claimed a decent third place at Lommel for his second trophy of the year and only sixth for the team and was quizzed on his future after allegedly being informed at the Grand Prix of France (round ten) that he would not be kept for a third term in Kimi Raikkonen’s factory-supported squad.
“Nothing yet,” the 25 year old said. “At the moment I’m focussed on my job and doing the best job I can with my team. I know they have put everything into me and my teammate and these are the results [his Lommel podium] we need to be getting. They have done a great job and are professional as can be.”
Anstie was allegedly in talks with Honda, as the team had some concern over the state of Brian Bogers’ foot injury with the Dutchman yet to compete this year after his pre-season accident. The latest gossip involved HRC prepared to give Bogers his MXGP debut shot in 2019, leaving Anstie to explore other options in a very limited market for riders.
The Brit could be vying with current teammate Gautier Paulin for the second saddle next to Arnaud Tonus at Wilvo Yamaha and IceOne need to confirm a second rider alongside Arminas Jasikonis; surprisingly signed by the Husqvarna operation last month .
