Lawrence to sit out Indonesian MX2 rounds
Hunter Lawrence del team Honda 114 Motorsports non disputerà il dodicesimo e il tredicesimo round del Campionato del Mondo MX2 2018 in programma in Indonesia nei prossimi due weekend e tornerà in azione al MXGP della Repubblica Ceca, in programma dal 21 al 22 luglio a Loket.
Dopo essersi fatto male alla GP del Trentino lo scorso aprile, il pilota australiano di 19 anni è tornato in azione tre round dopo a Kegums in Lettonia, ma non è stato in grado di tornare al tipo di forma mostrato all’inizio della stagione, con diversi incidenti che hanno avuto impatto sul suo recupero.
Con questo in mente, è stata presa una decisione in modo che Lawrence possa tornare alla competizione libero dai sintomi dei suoi recenti incidenti e mirare a massimizzare il pieno potenziale di se stesso e della sua moto Honda nei restanti round della stagione.
Hunter Lawrence: Realmente dispiaciuto di perdere i due round indonesiani, ma ho bisogno di tornare al 100% in modo da poter finire il resto della stagione del Campionato del Mondo MX2 2018 forte e ottenere i risultati di cui sono capace. Non correrò qui negli Stati Uniti ora, dato che le voci dicevano che continuerò ad allenarmi e guidare qui negli Stati Uniti per le prossime settimane.
Sono pienamente impegnato a correre il resto della stagione Mxgp con gli stessi obiettivi con cui ho iniziato la stagione e vincendo gp e ho solo bisogno di tempo per permettere al mio corpo di riprendersi completamente.
Livia Lancelot, team manager: Essere senza Hunter per due round è davvero un peccato, ma non vediamo l’ora di riaverlo a Loket. Dopo essersi fratturato la mano a Pietramurata, non è stato in grado di tornare al ritmo estremo di cui è capace, e non è quello che nessuno vuole vedere. Sono davvero dispiaciuta per tutti gli sponsor e per i fan indonesiani che volevano vederlo, ma tutti noi vogliamo vederlo di nuovo alla massima velocità ed è quello su cui stiamo lavorando come sempre.

Team Honda 114 Motorsports’ Hunter Lawrence will sit out the twelfth and thirteenth rounds of the 2018 MX2 World Championship – taking place in Indonesia these two upcoming weekends – and will be back in action at the MXGP of Czech Republic, scheduled for 21-22 July at Loket.
After injuring his hand at the MXGP of Trentino last April, the 19-year-old Australian rider made his return to action three rounds later at Kegums in Latvia, but he was unable to return to the type of form shown earlier in the season – with several crashes having an impact on his recovery.
With this in mind, a decision was made so that Lawrence can return to competition free from the symptoms of his recent crashes and aim to maximise the full potential of himself and his Honda machine again in the remaining rounds of the season.
Hunter Lawrence: Really disappointed to miss the two Indonesian rounds, but I need to get back 100% so we can finish out the remainder of the 2018 MX2 World Championship season strong and get the results I am capable of.
I will not be racing here in the usa earlier as the rumors stated I will continue training and riding here in the states for the next few weeks.
I am fully committed to racing the remainder of the Mxgp season with the same goals as I started the season with and that’s winning gp’s and I just needed time to let my body fully recover.
Livia Lancelot, team Manager: To be without Hunter for two rounds is really a shame, but we are looking forward to having him back at Loket. Since fracturing his hand badly in Pietramurata he hasn’t been able to get back on the ultimate pace he’s capable of, and that’s not what anybody wants to see. I’m really sorry for all the sponsors and for the Indonesian fans who wanted to see him riding, but we all want to see him back at top speed and that is what we are working on like always.
