Team HRC is Russia-bound for the sixth Grand Prix of the year
Il Team HRC sta attualmente viaggiando verso le coste orientali del Mar Nero per prendere parte al sesto round del Campionato del Mondo Motocross 2018, che si svolgerà questo lunedì e martedì ad Orlyonok nel Distretto Federale Meridionale della Russia.
Creato nelle immediate vicinanze dell’omonimo Children Center per bambini di età compresa tra gli 11 ei 16 anni, la pista ha fatto il suo debutto sul calendario MXGP lo scorso anno. Ironia della sorte, nessuno dei due corridori del Team HRC attualmente attivi, Tim Gajser e Calvin Vlaanderen, hanno corso lì, furono entrambi feriti al tempo del GP della Russia l’anno scorso.
Entrambi i piloti sono quindi entusiasti di affrontare questa emozionante pista di motocross impegnata lunedì 30 aprile, con le sessioni di prove libere in corso alle 11:30 (MX2) e alle 12:00 (MXGP) ora locale (GMT +3) . Le due gare MX2 e della MXGP della Russia inizieranno martedì 1 maggio – La Giornata internazionale dei lavoratori, un giorno festivo in Russia – alle 14:15 e alle 17:10, mentre le MX2 sono programmate per iniziare poco prima delle 13: 15 e 16:10.

Non vedo l’ora che inizi la mia prima esperienza di gara ad Orlyonok: l’anno scorso ho dovuto guardare le gare dal divano e non è stato molto divertente, ma la pista sembrava davvero buona! Avremo anche molti giovani fan che parteciperanno al round, quindi sarà sicuramente un evento molto speciale per tutti. È stato bello salire sul podio la scorsa volta ad Águeda, quindi l’obiettivo sarà quello di fare lo stesso lì!
Calvin Vlaanderen
Me ne vado presto in Russia e ne sono entusiasta. Ovviamente, è un lungo viaggio in un posto dove non sono mai stato prima perché mi sono ferito l’anno scorso. Ho sentito alcune cose positive sulla pista e ho visto alcuni video, quindi non vedo l’ora di correre. La mia spalla non è ancora al 100% ma ho avuto due buone settimane in bicicletta e mi sento pronto per questo!

Siamo felici di avere Tim con noi questa volta perché non è stato in grado di unirsi alla squadra l’anno scorso a causa di un infortunio. Né lui né Calvin hanno corso qui prima, quindi sarà un’esperienza completamente nuova per loro in un posto così unico e in una pista come Orlyonok. Quello che Tim ha fatto in Portogallo è stato più in linea con il suo potenziale e le nostre aspettative, quindi la nostra speranza è che continui a costruire slancio e continui a correre in prima posizione, al fine di migliorare anche la sua posizione nel campionato. Calvin ha bisogno di alcuni risultati importanti e di un buon weekend per creare un po ‘di slancio, e sono sicuro che è all’altezza del compito ora che ha avuto un po’ di tempo per allenarsi e occuparsi della sua spalla.

Team HRC is currently travelling to the east shores of the Black Sea to take part in the sixth round of the 2018 Motocross World Championship, which takes place this upcoming Monday and Tuesday at Orlyonok in the Southern Federal District of Russia.
Created in close proximity of the namesake all-year Children’s Centre for kids between 11 and 16 years old, the track made its debut on the MXGP calendar last year. Ironically, neither of the two currently active Team HRC riders Tim Gajser and Calvin Vlaanderen have raced there yet as they were both injured at the time of the MXGP of Russia last year.
Both riders are therefore keen on getting to grips with this exciting hard packed motocross track on Monday, April 30th, with the free practice sessions getting underway at 11:30 (MX2) and 12:00 (MXGP) local time (GMT +3). The two MXGP races of the MXGP of Russia will begin on Tuesday May 1st – The International Workers’ day, a public holiday in Russia – at 14:15 and 17:10, while the MX2 ones are scheduled to start just before at 13:15 and 16:10.

I’m looking forward to my first racing experience at Orlyonok: last year I had to watch the races from the sofa and it wasn’t much fun, but the track looked really good! We will also have many young fans attending the round, so it’ll surely be a very special event for everybody. It was nice to get on the podium last time out at Águeda so the goal will be to do the same there!
Calvin Vlaanderen 10
I’m leaving soon to Russia and I’m excited for it. Obviously, it’s a long trip to a place I’ve never been to before as I was injured last year. I’ve heard some good things about the track and I’ve seen some videos, so I cannot wait to go racing. My shoulder is still not 100% but I’ve had two good weeks on the bike and I’m feeling ready for it!

We are happy to have Tim with us this time around as he wasn’t able to join the team last year due to injury. Neither him nor Calvin have raced here previously, so it will be a completely new experience for them in such a unique place and track like Orlyonok. What Tim did in Portugal was more in line with his potential and our all expectations, so our hope is that he will continue to build momentum and keep racing at the front – in order to also improve his position in the championship. Calvin needs some strong results and a smooth weekend to build some momentum, and I’m sure he is up to the task now that he had some time to train and look after his shoulder.
