Bas Vaessen – Injury Update
Il team Honda 114 Motorsports ‘Bas Vaessen è destinato a perdere le prossime gare del campionato del mondo per un muscolo adduttore gravemente infortunato.
Con i rapporti iniziali, l’allenamento infrasettimanale per il GP portoghese andò come al solito. Tuttavia si è pensato che durante il weekend di gara ad Agueda, l’infortunio si sia aggravato e ora il giovane pilota olandese sarà costretto a sedersi in panchina mentre il muscolo adduttore guarisce.
E ‘un duro colpo per Vaessen, che stava iniziando a trovare il suo ritmo nelle 10 migliori prestazioni, in quello che è un campionato MX2 altamente competitivo. Rivedrà il pilota ad Ottobiano, anche se c’è la possibilità che se la ripresa vada bene possa tornare prima del GP di Francia il 9 giugno.
Siccome Ottobiano avrebbe perso la vita per sei round, il team manager Livia Lancelot è alla ricerca di un pilota sostitutivo che sia in grado di rappresentare il Team Honda 114 Motorsports e i suoi sponsor, pur mantenendo alti standard sia dentro che fuori pista.
Tutti i membri del team desiderano andare al MXGP il più rapidamente possibile.

Bas Vaessen: È davvero una sensazione orribile, soprattutto perché non so davvero come sia successo. Ho sentito un po ‘di dolore in Portogallo sabato. Sono stato in grado di prendere alcuni antidolorifici notturni e ho lavorato per la prima manche di domenica, ma poi sono andato alla seconda manche. Poi il lunedì mattina sono andato da un dottore perche mi sono svegliato con la gamba che era gonfia. Tuttavia, ho fatto una risonanza magnetica e il dottore ha detto che poteva essere molto peggio. E ‘stata una grande delusione e nel complesso è un peccato perché ho iniziato a migliorare sempre di più ogni weekend e mi sono sentito come se avessi un buon setup di gara. Ora tutto quel lavoro si ferma. E ‘solo un peccato per me, è un peccato per Livia e l’intero team, ma spero di tornare più forte e pronto a continuare il mio miglioramento nella classe MX2.
Livia Lancelot: E ‘davvero sfortunato, era nei primi 10 e si sentiva bene sulla moto. Era una situazione strana perché stava guidando e non eravamo preoccupati di nulla. Comunque pensiamo che in Portogallo, con quei lunghi solchi, si è girato il ginocchio e questo ha aggravato qualcosa dallo schianto di Arco. Non era così male, ma non era lo stesso. Tuttavia, dopo i risultati della risonanza magnetica che abbiamo avuto venerdì, i rapporti ora dicono che probabilmente sarà ok per il GP ad Ottobiano che è molto peggio di quanto era, ora salterà sei gare invece di due. Andremo a cercare un pilota con la stessa velocità. Tuttavia, questa è la squadra Honda 114 Motorsports ed è pienamente rappresentata in queste sei gare.

In what are thought to be after effects from the horrible crash at the MXGP of Trentino, Team Honda 114 Motorsports’ Bas Vaessen is set to miss the next few rounds of world championship action due to a severely injured adductor muscle.
Bas Vaessen: It really is a horrible feeling, especially as I don’t really know how it happened. I felt a little bit of pain at Portugal on Saturday, which gradually got more and more throughout the weekend. I was able to take some painkillers overnight which worked well for the first moto on Sunday, but then in the second moto I was basically surviving as they began to wear off, which explains my bad result. Then on Monday morning I woke up and my leg was massive, with really red skin and it really didn’t look good so I went to a doctor. At first they said it was a grade two muscle rupture, which means that it was just ripped a bit, and not all the way through. However Friday I did an MRI and the doctor said it was much worse, a grade three, with it being completely ripped off, which means around two months off the bike. Obviously that was a massive disappointment and overall it’s just such a shame because things just started going better and better every weekend and I felt more comfortable as we were getting good race setups. Now all that work stops. It’s not just a shame for me, it’s a shame for Livia and the entire team who work so hard to help me with everything, but I hope to come back stronger and ready to continue my improvement in the MX2 class.
Livia Lancelot: It’s really unfortunate for Bas as he was just starting to get inside the top 10 and was feeling good on the bike. It was a weird situation because he was riding between Arco and Portugal and everything was fine, and we weren’t worried about anything. However we think that in Portugal, with those long ruts, he twisted his knee and that aggravated something from the crash in Arco. Initially the reports from the doctors said that he might only have to miss Russia and Latvia, which wasn’t too bad. However after the results from the MRI we had on Friday, the reports now say that it’ll probably be after Ottobiano which makes it a lot worse as it’s now six races instead of two. Bas is motivated though and already he says that the pain in his leg is much better so we hope his recovery goes well. With it being six rounds, we are going to look at bringing in a replacement rider, but to try and find a rider with that same speed will be extremely difficult. However, that is our aim and we will try and make it happen so that Team Honda 114 Motorsports is fully represented at those six races.
