Seely subisce un intervento chirurgico dopo aver rotto il bacino a Tampa Supercross
E ‘stata una notte devastante a Tampa per il Team Honda HRC, visto che il loro unico pilota attivo, Cole Seely, è stato messo da parte all’inizio della serata dopo aver fatto un duro incidente nel 450SX heat 2. Mentre correva terzo, Seely ha tentato di saltare un quad nella lunga sezione ritmica dopo il rettilineo d’inizio. Arrivò corto e fu espulso sopra il manubrio, dopo di che la ruota posteriore della moto atterrò su di lui.
Seely è stato immediatamente assistito in pista dall’equipaggio di Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit e trasportato direttamente all’ospedale St. Joseph. Dopo un’ulteriore valutazione, è stato determinato che Seely aveva subito fratture al suo sacro e ai lati sinistro e destro del suo bacino. Ha subito una procedura iniziale sabato sera per riallineare il bacino. Domenica, è stata eseguita un’operazione più ampia per riparare un danno sostanziale alla sua parete addominale, fissare il bacino con una grande piastra e viti e inserire una vite su ciascun lato del sacro. La prognosi iniziale è di otto settimane senza carico, con un appuntamento di follow-up che si svolge tra 10 e 14 giorni.

Seely Undergoes Surgery After Breaking Pelvis at Tampa Supercross
It was a devastating night in Tampa for Team Honda HRC, as their sole active rider, Cole Seely, was sidelined early in the evening after crashing hard in 450SX heat two. While running third, Seely attempted to jump a quad in the long rhythm section after the start straight. He came up short and was ejected over the handlebar, after which the motorcycle’s rear wheel landed on him.
Seely was immediately assisted on-track by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit crew and was then transported directly to St. Joseph’s Hospital. After further evaluation, it was determined that Seely had sustained fractures to his sacrum and the left and right sides of his pelvis. He underwent an initial procedure Saturday evening to realign the pelvis. On Sunday, a more extensive operation was performed to repair substantial damage to his abdominal wall, fixate the pelvis with a large plate and screws, and insert a screw on each side of the sacrum. The initial prognosis is for eight weeks non-weight bearing, with a follow-up appointment to take place in 10 to 14 days.

He was second in points and continuing to improve each week, so it was only a matter of time until he would have gotten a win.
