INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA MX 2018 – MANTOVA Risultati e punti!

Supercampione

The “Tazio Nuvolari” track has hosted the conclusion of Internazionali d’Italia MX SDV Series 2018. Great show on the sand of Lombardia, during a race-day characterized by the incredible number of registered riders in the three classes: MX1, MX2 and 125. Even if the weather was cloudy and rainy, the great flow of the spectators, who challenged the low temperatures, characterized the natural stands of the crossdome. As well as for the other two rounds before, even this one has been broadcasted live on the web, with a great success of contacts and interactions on Offroadproracing social media.

INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA MX 2018 – MANTOVA Risultati e punti!

Supercampione

Nonetheless the title was already in his hands, Antonio Cairoli (KTM) has dominated even the Supercampione final. He won his sixth holeshot in six starts and managed to control Romain Febvre (Yamaha), who was behind him. Third classified Jeremy Van Horebeek (Yamaha), whose difficult start did not allow him to fight for the start. The three riders finished also at the first three places of the championship, won by Cairoli with full score (240 points), in front of Febvre (200 points) and Van Horebeek (145 points). Finally the rich first prize of 50.000 euros has been assigned to Cairoli and his team together with the cheque of 1.000 euros, given by Just1 Holeshot to the best starter, and one ‘all inclusive’ week at Sestriere (TO), given by the “Consorzio Turistico Via Lattea”.

MX1

The MX1 category has been monopolized by Tony Cairoli. Firstly he realized the best lap during the timed practice and the 24MX Fast Lap during the race. He even was the fastest at the Just1 Holeshot line and managed to win with a race pace better than everyone. At his shoulder Jeremy Van Horebeek finished in front of his mate Romaine Febvre. Tanel Leok (Husqvarna) is fourth placed before Max Nagl (TM), who came back to race, to be ready for the World Championship, after that he did not participate in Noto. Alessandro Lupino (Kawasaki) confirms to be fast and is sixth classified, in front of Josè Butron (KTM) and Arminas Jasikonis (Honda). The top ten is completed by Karel Kutsar (KTM) and the rookie Ivo Monticelli (Yamaha). The first race of the season for Tim Gajser (Honda) meant the first injury of 2018. He landed too distant after a double jump and felt down causing a fracture to the mandible. Immediately he had been brought to the hospital to go under operation. Due to the supremacy showed in this three races, the final victory obviously goes to Antonio Cairoli followed by Febvre and Van Horebeek. Tanle Leok, who seems forever young, is fourth, while Lupino closes the Top Five.

 MX2

Alvin Ostlund (Yamaha) was the fastest in the first lap, followed by Calvin Vlaanderen (Honda) and Tristan Charboneau (Yamaha). The HRC rider was able to impose a great pace, passed in first position at the second lap and leaded alone till the finish. Ostlund managed to keep the second position, while Charboneau did not manage to keep the third position and at the finish line Iker Larragana Olano is third classified, after a good recover from the tenth position of the first lap.
About the championship the great performance of Michele Cervellin (Honda) must be underlined: in this last round, he administrated his advantage respect to Ostlund, who concluded in second position at only 14 points to Cervellin. A very little gap, when we take into consideration that he could have gained the title if he had won the race. Third placed is Vlandereen, again on the podioum at this Internazionali d’Italia edition.

125

The first manche of 125cc. has been characterized by many surprises since the starting gate opened, when Mattia Guadagnini (Husqvarna) took the leadership but then is passed by Rick Elzinga (Yamaha), who recovered after a not brilliant start. Third placed is Oriol Oliver Vilar (KTM), who followed the winner during his recover and managed to take advantage from Raf Meuwissen (KTM), who started fast but could not keep the same pace of the leaders till the chequerd flag. In the second manche the final result has been more uncertain than in the first one: Emilio Scuteri (KTM) took the leadership, followed by Guadagnini, trying to recover the gap. The Celestini team rider was seemed to be able to win, until he made a mistake and lost the leading positions. In the meanwhile René Hofer (KTM) gained so many positions until to be first at the finish line. Third classified is Andrea Bonaccorsi (KTM), leader at the first lap, but then not able to keep the pace of the leaders. Thanks to his placements Mattia Guadagnini is overall first classified and is the winner of the 2018 title, followed by Emilio Scuteri and Alberto Barcella in the championship classification.
