MONSTER ENERGY KAWASAKI RACING TEAM PREPARED FOR VICTORY
Il campionato mondiale FIM MXGP Motocross prenderà il via in Argentina all’inizio di marzo e il team Kawasaki Racing di Monster Energy è pronto nella sua nuova livrea per spingersi alla vittoria nel 2018.
Dopo una pausa di cinque mesi, tutti si stanno preparando a lanciarsi in Sud America, dove il Campionato del Mondo MXGP 2018 sarà lanciato il 3 e il 4 marzo a Neuquén, in Patagonia, Argentina. Le moto Factory KX450-SR sono pronte per essere spedite tra pochi giorni, e Clément Desalle parteciperà alla sua unica gara pre-campionato a Lacapelle Marival in Francia questo fine settimana mentre il nuovo compagno di squadra Julien Lieber continua ad allenarsi nel sud della Francia.
Clément Desalle, costretto a saltare gli ultimi due GP la scorsa stagione a causa di un infortunio, ha mancato per poco una delle prime tre posizioni mondiali dopo una stagione forte, ma il suo secondo anno con il team Kawasaki Racing di Monster Energy è stato buono con due vittorie in GP e diversi podi . Sulla scia della loro esperienza di collaborazione negli ultimi due anni, il pilota belga e il team, aiutati dalla solida collaborazione con gli ingegneri giapponesi e quelli della Kawasaki Motors Corporation negli Stati Uniti, hanno stabilito uno stretto rapporto con la moto perfettamente per il pilota e tutti nel team sono fiduciosi che l’assetto del 2018 porterà ancora più successo.
“Abbiamo lavorato principalmente sui dettagli riguardanti sia il motore che il telaio con KHI, KMC e i nostri partner tecnici”, ha spiegato il team manager François Lemariey. “Il rapporto con il Giappone si rafforza ogni anno e siamo lieti di vedere che gli ingegneri ci danno sempre più supporto. Clément è molto soddisfatto del risultato; ha avuto un inverno forte e siamo ottimisti per la stagione “.
Il leader belga ha mancato di poco le prime tre posizioni in classifica lo scorso anno, ma si è ripreso rapidamente dalle vertebre rotte che hanno portato la sua stagione a una chiusura prematura e che era già in grado di iniziare la sua preparazione a novembre. Il nuovo compagno di squadra Julien Lieber ha dovuto aspettare ancora un po ‘prima di provare la sua nuova moto mentre la giovane promessa si riprendeva da un infortunio al ginocchio; Tornato in moto a gennaio, Julien ha saltato le gare pre-stagione per concentrarsi sulla stagione MXGP e farà il suo debutto per la Kawasaki in Argentina.
Sarà la prima volta che la serie MXGP verrà avviata in Sud America; il campionato visiterà diciannove sedi in quindici paesi su tre continenti tra marzo e l’ultimo round a Imola, nel nord Italia, il 29-30 settembre.
Clément Desalle: “Ho fatto un’ottima preparazione invernale senza feriti e sono stato in grado di allenarmi in buone condizioni nel sud della Spagna. Sono tornato in moto a novembre e abbiamo avuto abbastanza tempo per lavorare con la squadra sulla moto; non ci sono grossi cambiamenti ma molta delicata messa a punto, principalmente al telaio. Sono molto soddisfatto dei risultati e ho un ottimo feeling con il KX450-SR. La mia stagione inizierà questo fine settimana con la Lacapelle International; è stata nostra scelta non fare troppe gare in quanto la stagione sarà abbastanza lunga. Sono totalmente concentrato sul Campionato del Mondo, e sono felice di iniziare la stagione in Argentina perché è un bel paese e una bella pista; l’obiettivo di questa stagione sarà quello di ottenere buoni risultati in ogni turno. ”
Julien Lieber: “Sono tornato in moto da tre settimane e il feeling con il KX450-SR è migliore giorno dopo giorno. La prima settimana ho usato una moto di produzione perché avevo una pausa di quattro mesi a causa del mio intervento al ginocchio. Era il modo migliore per tornare in sella e dopo quella settimana sono saltato in sella alla factory; Devo dire che le prime sessioni non erano facili in quanto questa moto è molto più potente, ma abbiamo lavorato con il team sulle impostazioni per adattare la moto al mio stile di guida e abbiamo trovato un ottimo set-up. Non è stata la mia prima esperienza su una 450, ho fatto alcune gare sulla sabbia un paio di anni fa e adoro questa classe. Abbiamo saltato le gare di pre-stagione perché non ero pronto per andare a correre così presto dopo essere tornato in sella da poco, ma sono fiducioso per l’Argentina; era meglio concentrarsi sui nostri test e sul mio allenamento “.
Steve Guttridge: “L’inizio di una stagione MXGP è sempre pieno di aspettative ed eccitazione. Per Kawasaki aggiungiamo a questo la fiducia che il KRT si avvicinerà al campionato 2018 con due piloti di tutto rispetto e forti, Clement Desalle e Julien Lieber. È sempre difficile nella classe regina, ma siamo sicuri che KRT spingerà per il successo sulla factory KX450-SR e offrirà buoni tempi ai fan Kawasaki di tutto il mondo. ”

The FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship will kick off in Argentina at the beginning of March and the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team is ready in its new livery to push for victory in 2018.
After a five month break everyone is now preparing to jet out to South America where the 2018 MXGP World Championship will be launched on March 3rd and 4th at Neuquén in the Patagonia region of Argentina. The factory KX450-SR race machines are ready to be shipped in a few days, and Clément Desalle will enter his sole pre-season race at Lacapelle Marival in France this weekend while new teammate Julien Lieber continues to train in southern France.
Forced to sit out the final two GPs last season due to injury, Clément Desalle narrowly missed a top three world ranking after a strong season, but his second year with the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team was a good one with two GP victories and several podiums. In the wake of their experience working together through the last two years the Belgian rider and the team, aided by the strong partnership with the Japanese engineers and those at the Kawasaki Motors Corporation in the USA, have established a close relationship to set up the bike perfectly for the rider and everyone in the team is confident that the 2018 set-up will deliver even more success.
“We worked mainly on details concerning both the engine and the chassis with KHI, KMC and our technical partners,” explained team manager François Lemariey. “The relationship with Japan grows stronger every year, and we are pleased to see that the engineers give us more and more support. Clément is very happy with the result; he had a strong winter and we are optimistic for the season.”
The Belgian leader narrowly missed a top three series ranking last year, but he recovered quickly from the broken vertebra which brought his season to a premature close and was already able to start his preparation in November. New teammate Julien Lieber had to wait a little longer before testing his new bike as the young hopeful recovered from a knee injury; back on the bike in January, Julien has skipped the pre-season races to focus on the MXGP season and will make his debut for Kawasaki in Argentina.
It will be the first time that the MXGP series has started in South America; the championship will visit nineteen venues in fifteen countries on three continents between March and the final round at Imola in northern Italy on September 29th/30th.
Clément Desalle: “I had a very good winter preparation with no injuries and have been able to train in good conditions in southern Spain. I was back on the bike in November and we had enough time to work with the team on the bike; there are no big changes but a lot of delicate fine-tuning, mainly to the chassis. I’m very happy with the results and have a very good feeling with the KX450-SR. My season will start this weekend with the Lacapelle International; it was our choice not to contest too many races as the season will be long enough. I’m totally focus on the World Championship, and I’m happy to start the season in Argentina as it’s a nice country and a nice track; the goal this season will be to perform well in each round.”
Julien Lieber: “I’ve been back on a bike for three weeks and the feeling with the KX450-SR is better day after day. The first week I used a production bike as I had a four months break due to my knee surgery. It was the best way to ease back into riding and after that week I jumped on the factory bike; I must say that the first sessions were not easy as this bike is so much more powerful, but we worked with the team on the settings to adapt the bike to my riding style and we have found a very good set-up. It was not my first experience on a 450 as I did some sand races a couple of years ago and I really love this class. We skipped the pre-season races as I was not ready to go racing so soon after returning to riding, but I’m confident for Argentina; it was better to focus on our tests and my training.”
Steve Guttridge: “The start of an MXGP season is always filled with anticipation and excitement. For Kawasaki we add to this the confidence that KRT will approach the 2018 Championship with two well-respected and strong riders in Clement Desalle and Julien Lieber.
