Sterry sulla via del rilancio MX2
L’ex vincitore delle gare EMX250 e campione Adam Sterry sa che ha subito un impatto sulla classe MX2 Grand Prix dopo tre ferite negli ultimi due anni e come una delle speranze principali sia per il team F&H che per lo sforzo di Kawasaki in questa categoria portano alcuni dei riflettori nel 2018.
L’ex pilota Monster Energy Kawasaki sta recuperando da una ricostruzione del ginocchio sinistro che lo ha tenuto a bordo pista da aprile ed è stato vittima del ritiro di Kawasaki, uno sforzo della Factory nella classe MX2, Jeans Jacque Luisetti ha chiuso il suo team vittorioso nei GP.
Sterry ha trovato un’altra sella con la KX250F con l’equipaggio di F & H accanto al promettente Aussie Jedok Beaton e con Marc de Reuver come allenatore. “La squadra è veramente professionale e motivata e ha un’atmosfera piacevole”, osservò Sterry. “Sono stato in allenamento in palestra per tre o quattro mesi, mantenendo costante il ginocchio e assicurandomi di non ri-ferirlo. Siamo leggermente avanti a dove saremmo normalmente. Sto guidando da un po ‘di tempo ora e mi sto solo abituando alla moto. Andremo testando di più nelle prossime settimane, così sto per velocizzarmi “.
Il 21enne sarà basato nel Regno Unito e Olanda durante il 2018, mentre propone di riaffermarsi come una delle migliori prospettive del suo paese dopo un debutto al Grand Prix d’Argentina che ha portato un sorprendente finale nei dieci. Sostiene che la riduzione degli sforzi di Kawasaki in MX2 non sarà un problema e potrebbe anche avere un impatto positivo sul set-up di F & H.
“Non è una preoccupazione, significa più sostegno per la nostra squadra, ma mi concentrerò su me e siamo tutti focalizzati su buoni risultati. Sono sicuro che saremo parte dal primo turno in Argentina “.
“Negli ultimi due anni ho avuto tre grandi ferite, quindi il primo obiettivo è quello di far passare la stagione e mostrare la mia velocità”, afferma Sterry. “Credo che possiamo andare per i podi l’anno prossimo e questo è quello per cui lottiamo”.

Sterry on the path to MX2 revival
Former EMX250 race winner and championship contender Adam Sterry knows he is overdue an impact on the MX2 Grand Prix class after three injuries in the past two years, and as one of the main hopes for both the F&H team and Kawasaki’s downscaled effort in the category will carry some of the spotlight in 2018.
The ex-Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has been recovering from a left knee reconstruction that kept him on the sidelines since April and was a victim of Kawasaki’s withdrawal of a factory effort in the MX2 class as Jeans Jacque Luisetti closed down his GP-winning team this year.
Sterry found another KX250F saddle with the blossoming F&H crew next to promising Aussie rookie Jed Beaton and with Marc de Reuver as rider coach. “The team are really professional and motivated and has a nice atmosphere,” Sterry remarked. “I’ve been gym training for three or four months, keeping steady with the knee and just making sure I don’t re-injure it. If anything we are slightly ahead of where we’d normally be. I’ve been riding for a little while now and I’m just getting used to the bike. We’ll be testing more in the coming weeks when I’m up to speed.”
The 21 year old will be based in the UK and Holland during 2018 as he bids to reassert himself as one of the best prospects from his country after a Grand Prix debut at the 2015 Grand Prix of Argentina led to a surprising top ten finish. He claims the reduction of Kawasaki’s efforts in MX2 won’t be an issue and could even positively impact the F&H set-up.
“It isn’t a worry, if anything it means more support for our team but I will just focus on me and we are all focussed on good results. I’m sure we’ll be at the front come the first round in Argentina.”
“In the last two years I’ve had three big injuries so the first goal is to make it through the season and show my speed,” Sterry claims. “I believe we can be going for podiums next year and this is what we fight for.”
