JGR SUZUKI SIGNS KYLE PETERS
E se da un lato del mondo Suzuki chiude tutte le sponsorizzazioni per le gare, dall’altro aumenta la schiera di piloti Factory, con JGRMX ci sono ben 6 piloti a rappresentare il marchio, almeno vedremo il giallo mischiarsi con altri colori e la speranza di poterlo vedere anche a podio!
Ecco il comunicato del 3° pilota in 250 con l’attesa del 4°!
AutoTrader / Yoshimura Suzuki (JGR) ha firmato con un terzo membro per la loro squadra di quattro pioti in 250 Supercross di Monster Energy, avendo accettato Kyle Peters per la stagione 2018.
La squadra, che prevede quattro 250 riders in supercross e due in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross il prossimo anno, ha annunciato con Justin Hill (SX e MX) e Jimmy Decotis (SX). Un quarto pilota deve ancora essere annunciato. Il contratto di Peters è stato annunciato come un accordo di solo Supercross.
Il Greensboro, North Carolina, nativo è diventato professionista nel 2012 con Star Racing Yamaha, ma è durato solo un anno con la squadra. L’anno successivo, Peters ha avuto un’exploit ad Indianapolis, finendo secondo per il suo primo ed unico podio in Monster Energy Supercross. Dopo essersi separato con Star Racing, Peters ha principalmente guidato per piccole squadre satellitari o come privati.
L’anno scorso, Peters ha riempito per tre round 250SX East Region con JGRMX, finendo 9-9-8 prima di partire per l’Australia e contestare il campionato australiano di motocross con Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki. Si prevedeva che Peters dovesse contendere il Campionato australiano Supercross con la squadra, ma si sono separati secondo la stagione motocross.
In una dichiarazione, Peters ha detto che è entusiasta di unirsi ad una squadra Factory che si trova nel suo stato di origine della Carolina del Nord.
“Ho sempre voluto correre per una squadra Factory e sono così grato di avere l’opportunità con l’Autotrader / Yoshimura / Suzuki Factory Racing Team. Quello che rende più speciale è che JGRMX è basato nel mio stato di origine della Carolina del Nord “, ha detto. “Sono stato abbastanza fortunato di guidare per la squadra durante diversi round del 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250 Eastern serie. I membri dell’equipaggio e io abbiamo subito trovato feeling. Negli ultimi mesi ho chiamato parecchio il cellulare di Jeremy Albrecht, chiamando per vedere se era aperto per uno slot. Sono eccitato che le cose si sono sviluppate. Non vedo l’ora di mettere gli sforzi e rendere 2018 l’anno migliore della mia carriera “.
“Innanzitutto, Kyle Peters è un ragazzo veramente buono”, ha detto il team manager Jeremy Albrecht. “Dopo aver lavorato con lui per alcune gare di quest’anno, ho imparato che Kyle è il tipo di pilota che capisce cosa deve essere fatto sulla pista. Vuole avere successo. Al di fuori della pista, ha un comportamento facile e si avvicina a tutti nella strumentazione. Kyle capisce anche l’importanza di mantenere forti relazioni con gli sponsor “.
La squadra prevede di annunciare un quarto pilota nelle prossime settimane.

The Greensboro, North Carolina, native turned professional in 2012 with Star Racing Yamaha, but lasted just one year with the team. The following year, Peters had a breakout ride in Indianapolis, finishing second for his first, and only, podium in Monster Energy Supercross. After parting ways with Star, Peters mostly rode for small satellite teams or as a privateer.
Last year, Peters filled-in for three 250SX East Region rounds with JGRMX, finishing 9-9-8 before departing for Australia to contest the Australian Motocross Championship with Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki. Peters was expected to contest the Australian Supercross Championship with the team, but they parted ways following the motocross season.
In a statement, Peters said he is excited to join a factory team that is based in his home state of North Carolina.
“I have always wanted to ride for a factory team, and I’m so thankful to get the opportunity with the Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team. What makes it more special is that JGRMX is based in my home state of North Carolina,” he said. “I was fortunate enough to ride for the team during several rounds of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250 Eastern regional series. The crew members and I immediately hit it off. In the past few months I have been wearing out [team manager] Jeremy Albrecht’s cell phone, calling to see if he had a slot open. I am beyond excited that things worked out. I can’t wait to put in the effort and make 2018 the best year of my career yet.”
“First and foremost, Kyle Peters is a really good kid,” said team manager Jeremy Albrecht. “Having worked with him for a few races this year, I learned that Kyle is the type of rider who understands what needs to be done on the racetrack. He wants to succeed. Off the track, he has an easy-going demeanor and gets along with everyone in the rig. Kyle also understands the importance of maintaining strong relationships with sponsors.”
The team expects to announce a fourth rider in the coming weeks.
