Seewer in the frame for Wilvo Yamaha saddle?
Una delle squadre satellitari meglio equipaggiate in MXGP continua ad essere al centro di rumors per il 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship. Wilvo Yamaha ha contratti con Shaun Simpson e Arnaud Tonus per dirigere il ’18 YZ450F, ma l’equipaggio ha corteggiato un terzo pilota, presumibilmente grazie ad un sostegno aggiuntivo da Yamaha Motor Europe e con nomi come Evgeny Bobryshev, Benoit Paturel e ora il contendente al titolo MX2 nel campionato 2017 che è Jeremy Seewer.
Inizialmente sembrava che Paturel fosse istituito per continuare la sua relazione con Yamaha, ma il vincitore del GP di MX2 ha confermato alla Monster Cup di Las Vegas che un’opportunità con Wilvo non era più un’opzione.
Seewer sembra una scelta logica dopo aver finito secondo negli ultimi due anni di MX2 ed è vittima dell’annuncio ufficiale di Suzuki di questa settimana col ritiro della loro squadra factory dalla classe premier nel 2018. Lo svizzero firmò un contratto per fare il suo debutto MXGP con l’ RM-Z450 il prossimo anno dopo essere “vecchio” per la MX2. Suzuki apparentemente ha cercato di trovare un altro ancoraggio per il 23 enne, ma sembra sempre più improbabile che continuerà la sua lunga associazione in giallo.

One of best-equipped satellite teams in MXGP continues to be wrapped in rumour for the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship. Wilvo Yamaha have Shaun Simpson and Arnaud Tonus contacted to steer the ’18 YZ450F but the crew have been courting a third rider – allegedly thanks to extra support from Yamaha Motor Europe – and with names like Evgeny Bobryshev, Benoit Paturel and now 2017 MX2 championship runner-up Jeremy Seewer linked.
Initially it seems that Paturel was set-up to continue his relationship with Yamaha but the MX2 GP winner confirmed at the Monster Cup in Las Vegas that an opportunity with Wilvo was no longer an option.
Seewer seems a logical choice after finishing second in the last two years of MX2 and is a victim of Suzuki’s official announcement this week that they are withdrawing their factory team from the premier class in 2018. The Swiss had signed a contract to make his MXGP debut with the RM-Z450 next year after aging-out of MX2. Suzuki apparently tried to find another berth for the 23 year old but it looks increasingly unlikely that he will continue his long-standing association in yellow.
