L’evento più combattuto di tutta la stagione, la Francia è ancora Campione del Motocross of Nations 2017, il trofeo Chamberlain è per la quarta volta consecutiva in mano ai francesi con Gautier Paulin, Christophe Charlier e Romain Febvre per un totale di 5 volte, 2001, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017!!!
Pur avendo trovato un terreno ostico sono stati la miglior squadra, già dal sabato le loro intenzioni si erano viste, partenze ottime sempre davanti e rimonte calcolate, facciamo i complimenti per questo record!

MOTOCROSS delle NAZIONI 2017 – GREAT BRITAIN MATTERLEY BASIN – Risultati!
Gautier Paulin – Team France [MXGP]: “Vincere il Nazioni è una sensazione pazzesca, di cui non ti stancheresti mai. Questo è un evento così speciale, con fan e spettatori che arrivano da tutto il mondo per vederci gareggiare. Voglio davvero ringraziare i miei compagni di squadra Christophe Charlier e Romain Febvre. Hanno fatto un lavoro fantastico, e questa vittoria è il frutto degli sforzi di tutti e tre. L’atmosfera quest’anno è stata incredibile. Per quanto mi riguarda, questa è la quarta vittoria consecutiva, ed è incredibile. Ho fatto del mio meglio per portare a casa buoni piazzamenti in entrambe le manche e ci sono riuscito. Mi sono goduto ogni istante di questo Motocross delle Nazioni.”
Christophe Charlier – Team France [MX2]: “Sono al settimo cielo per questa vittoria. Soprattutto dopo aver concentrato tutti i miei sforzi quest’anno nell’EnduroGP, tornare al motocross e ritrovarmi al vertice è stato pazzesco. Il Nazioni è sempre un evento gigantesco, e quest’anno mi è sembrato ancora più spettacolare. Per quanto mi riguarda, ho passato le ultime due settimane ad allenarmi con la FC 250 e tutto ha funzionato piuttosto bene qui in Inghilterra. Ho fatto quattordicesimo nella prima manche, e poi mi sono migliorato arrivando sesto nella seconda. È stata un’esperienza pazzesca, e ancora non mi rendo del tutto conto di aver vinto Sei Giorni e Nazioni nella stessa stagione!”
Romain Febvre – Team France [Open]: “Ho avuto due manche solide e due buoni inizi; la nuova moto è semplicemente incredibile. Avevamo lavorato per poche settimane ma già ci sentivamo meglio. Nella prima manche ero in battaglia con Jeffrey e quando si è schiantato ho dovuto togliere i miei occhiali perché non potevo vedere così bene. Con i piloti doppiati è stato veramente difficile, quindi ho preso un secondo al giro di sicuro. Nella seconda manche ho sentito di non poter continuare nuovamente così senza occhiali e mi sono fermato rapidamente per il cambio degli occhiali, ma comunque siamo così felici di aver vinto per la quarta volta. La gente aveva dubbi su Christophe sui social media, ma ha vinto sia l’ISDE che le Nazioni e questo è abbastanza sorprendente “.
Jeffrey Herlings – Team Netherlands [Open]: “Abbiamo fatto davvero bene come l’anno scorso e abbiamo avuto un po ‘di fortuna per finire secondi ma credo di averlo meritato questa volta. Sono orgoglioso dei miei compagni di squadra e dell’organizzazione per farlo accadere. Ho appena perso l’inizio nella seconda manche e avevo tanto fango sul mio casco e attaccato alla mia maschera. Romain è andato a togliere gli occhiali e non ero sicuro di farlo anche io, quindi ho continuato ad andare e ho preso Max ma c’era solo una linea asciutta ed era molto difficile da passare. Sono riuscito a farlo in Francia [al GP Pays de Montbeliard] ma non potevo farlo questa volta! Mi sento un po ‘deluso perché ho lavorato duramente e ho voluto fare 1-1 ma non ho potuto. La seconda parte della stagione era buona per me. Sono stato uno dei più veloci e mi dà molta fiducia nel prossimo anno “.
Glenn Coldenhoff – Team Netherlands [MXGP]: “Mi aspettavo di fare meglio. Ho avuto un buon inizio nella prima manche, ma ho fatto un po ‘dei disastri a metà. Ho dovuto togliermi anche gli occhiali e poi è stato ancora più difficile. Ho provato a forzare quanto ho potuto e sono appena arrivato un po ‘corto. Non è stata la mia giornata oggi. Ho dato tutto quello che avevo e alla fine sono felice per la squadra ma sono deluso per me stesso “.
Max Anstie – Team Great Britain [MXGP]: “Ottenere due vittorie di manche e vedere la mia nazionale sul podio è fantastico. I miei compagni di squadra e io ce l’abbiamo messa tutta in questo weekend, ed è bellissimo aver portato la nazionale inglese sul podio davanti ai nostri tifosi. Per me queste due vittorie di manche sono come un sogno che si realizza. Ho sempre voluto vincere nella MXGP, e ora ho realizzato una doppietta nella gara più importante della stagione. Nella prima manche mi sono portato in testa quasi subito e ho solo cercato di restare concentrato e mantenere le mie traiettorie. Poi nella seconda ho fatto una bella lotta con Febvre e alla fine ho prevalso. È davvero una sensazione incredibile.”
Tommy Searle – Squadra Great Britain [MX2]: “È un enorme” tick tick “ad essere onesti. Penso che sia la mia nona o decima volta nella squadra e ci sono stati eventi in cui ho vinto la mia classe o sono stato nelle prime tre posizioni e anche se oggi non è stato uno di quei giorni siamo arrivati sul podio. Sono felice che sia finito ad essere onesti. Ho avuto un sacco di nervoso a causa della folla e molta pressione perché non ho avuto la migliore delle stagioni. Mi hanno messo nella squadra perché credevano di poterlo fare. Ho bisogno di un paio di settimane solo per allontanarmi da tutto. Non ho avuto una lunga stagione con le gare, ma mentalmente quest’anno è stata dura. È difficile per me essere felice quando il motocross non sta andando bene. Quando lotti lì, è difficile perchè lottano dappertutto. Devo cambiare un po ‘ed essere felice dello sport. È qualcosa di cui ho bisogno per lavorare. Per ottenere il ritorno di questi giorni e avere un podio è veramente bello “.
Dean Wilson – Team Great Britain [Open]: “È stato un weekend bello tosto, soprattutto per le variazioni meteo. La pista era molto insidiosa, era facile commettere errori. Io ho fatto settimo e ottavo nelle mie due manche: niente di eccezionale, ma è servito a portare la nazionale inglese sul podio. Max ha fatto qualcosa di straordinario in questo weekend con la sua doppietta, e anche Tommy Searle ha guidato bene. È bello aver portato la Gran Bretagna sul podio dopo 20 anni, è davvero emozionante.”

Gautier Paulin – Team France [MXGP]: “Winning the Nations is a crazy feeling that never gets old. This is such a special event with fans and spectators travelling from all parts of the word to see us race. I really want to thank my teammates Christophe Charlier and Romain Febvre. They did a great job and the overall win belongs to all three of us. The atmosphere this year has been amazing. As for me, it feels great to be able to get a fourth consecutive win with the team. I did my best to secure two good results in the final motos and I made it happen. I loved every moment of this year’s Motocross of Nations.”
Christophe Charlier – Team France [MX2]: “I’m over the moon with this victory. Especially for me focusing all my efforts this season into the EnduroGP World Championship, it’s been a crazy experience coming back to the pinnacle of motocross competition. The Nations is always a huge event and this season it seemed that it was even more spectacular. As for me, I spent the last couple of weeks training on the FC 250 machine and it all worked out pretty well here in the UK. I got 14th in the first moto and then managed to improve to sixth in moto two. It’s been a crazy journey and it feels amazing to have now won the ISDE and the Nations during the same season.”
Romain Febvre – Team France [Open]: “I had two solid motos and two good starts; the new bike is just amazing. We had been working for a few weeks but it already felt better. In the first moto I was battling with Jeffrey and when he crashed I had to take off my goggles because I couldn’t see so well. With the lapped riders it was really difficult so I took a safe second. In the second moto I felt I couldn’t continue again like this so stopped quickly for goggles but anyway we are so happy to have won for the fourth time. People had doubts about Christophe on social media but he won both the ISDE and the Nations and that’s quite amazing.”

Max Anstie – Team Great Britain [MXGP]: “Getting two moto wins and seeing our team finish on the podium is an amazing feeling. My teammates and myself have done well this weekend. We all put in a great effort into the Nations and it’s great to bring Team GB on the box in front of our home crowd. For me these two moto wins feel like a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to get a win in the MXGP class and now I’ve got two victories at the most prestigious event of the season. In moto one I got the lead quite early and just tried to stay focused and hit my lines correctly. Then in moto two we had a good battle with Febvre and eventually I managed to come out on top. It’s an unreal feeling.”
Tommy Searle – Team Great Britain [MX2]: “It is a massive ‘box tick’ to be honest. “I think this is my ninth or tenth time on the team and there have been events where I have won my class or been in the top three in the motos and although today wasn’t one of those days we got on the podium. I’m happy it is all over to be honest. I had a lot of nerves because of the crowd and a lot of pressure because I haven’t had the best of seasons. They put me in the team because they believed I could do it. I need a couple of weeks just to step away from it all. I haven’t had a long season with racing but mentally this year it has been tough. It is hard for me to be happy when motocross isn’t going well. When I struggle there then I struggle everywhere. I need to change that a little bit and be happy away from the sport. It is something I need to work on. To get this day over-with and have a podium is really nice.”
Dean Wilson – Team Great Britain [Open]: “It was a pretty tough weekend with the weather changing on Sunday. Conditions were treacherous on the track and it was easy to make mistakes. I got seventh in my first moto and then eighth in the second. It was nothing spectacular but we managed to bring Team Great Britain on the podium. Max [Anstie] did an amazing job this weekend getting two solid victories and our teammate Tommy [Searle] rode well too. It’s good that we managed to bring our team on the box for the first time after 20 years, it’s pretty exciting.”
Jeffrey Herlings – Team Netherlands [Open]: “We did really good last year and had a bit of luck to finish second but I think we deserved it this time. I’m proud of my teammates and the organisation to make this happen. I just missed the start in the second moto and had so much mud on my helmet and dirt in my goggle. Romain went in for goggles and I wasn’t sure, so I kept going and I caught Max but there was only one dry line and it was very tough to pass. I managed to get him in France [the GP Pays de Montbeliard] but couldn’t do it this time! I feel a bit disappointed because I worked hard and wanted to go 1-1 but I couldn’t. The second part of the season was good for me. I was one of the fastest and it gives me a lot of confidence going into next year.”
Glenn Coldenhoff – Team Netherlands [MXGP]: “I expected better. I got a good start in the first moto but struggled a bit at halfway. I had to take off my goggles as well and then it was even more difficult. I tried as hard as I could and just came up a little bit short. It was not my day today. I gave everything that I had and in the end I’m happy for the team but disappointed in myself.”
