I commenti dei piloti dal GP in SVEZIA, la 16a tappa del Campionato del Mondo FIM Motocross 2017, Tim Gajser torna alla vittoria col GP assoluto, una manche vinta e un secondo, mentre Febvre anche lui ritorna nei piani alti con un podio al secondo posto dopo aver preso il comando in gara 1 ma un errore lo retrocede, vince gara 2 ma non basta, così il terzo è Paulin che senza esagerare chiude il podio! Sfortunati Herlings che nella prima manche chiude 2° e nella seconda dopo un possibile attacco al vertice rompe la catena, così anche Tony Cairoli che arte male e qualche errore non gli permette di battagliare in un altro GP! Insomma, un altro bel GP, magari da dimenticare per molti o noioso per il pubblico che è in vacanza e da poco seguito, ma noi no, ed eccovi i commenti dei protagonisti e i link per vedere risultati e highlights!

MXGP RIDERS PODIUM
Tim Gajser: È bello tornare alla vittoria dopo un bel po ‘di tempo! Stiamo lavorando così duramente per questo, abbiamo avuto alcuni brutti weekend e alcune corse pessime, ma stiamo migliorando. Sono grato per tutto quello che la mia squadra ha fatto e voglio solo dare un enorme ringraziamento a tutti quelli che mi circondano. Il mio obiettivo per la fine della stagione è quello di provare e vincere alcuni GP per finire la stagione forte. Sapevo che nella seconda gara, se avessi ottenuto il secondo, avrei preso l’assoluta. Ho fatto un piccolo errore all’inizio della gara e poi Jeffrey mi ha passato per il secondo. Poi, ha avuto un problema con la sua moto che mi ha permesso di tornare al secondo posto e prendere Romain. E ‘stato difficile passarlo così gli ultimi due giri ho fatto un passo indietro, sapevo che avevo fatto abbastanza per prendere la vittoria.
Romain Febvre: “E ‘stato un buon weekend in generale. Avevo quasi due holeshots. Nella prima manche stavo conducendo dal primo giro, ma sono caduto da solo e poi sono stato colpito da Max Nagl una volta che sono tornato sulla mia moto, quindi mi sono schiantato di nuovo. Sono ancora tornato al sesto, quindi so che la mia velocità era buona. Sento che avrei dovuto vincere la prima gara, ma nella seconda gara ho condotto ogni singolo giro e ho vinto. Sono felice di tornare al podio, voglio ringraziare la mia squadra e tutti i miei sponsor che ancora credono in me “.
Gautier Paulin: “Qui in Svezia abbiamo corso una buona gara. Con la pioggia di sabato e domenica mattina ci siamo ritrovati un fondo in condizioni variabili, e mi ci è voluto un po’ di tempo per raggiungere un buon feeling. Ma quando ci sono riuscito, ho trovato una buona velocità e la ho mantenuta in entrambe le manche. In Gara1 sono partito bene, e dopo qualche sorpasso sono riuscito a chiudere terzo. Quindi in Gara2 ho perso un po’ di tempo quando il cancelletto è caduto, ma la mia moto funzionava così bene che già nella prima curva ero nei primi cinque. È stato difficile restare veloci su questa pista, è stata una gara molto tecnica. Ho spinto al massimo ottenendo un altro terzo posto, e sono contento di questo nuovo podio.”
MX2 RIDERS PODIUM
Jeremy Seewer: “Nella prima manche ho ottenuto un buon inizio e ho fatto la mia strada in terza posizione, dove ho fatto un piccolo errore. Ciò mi costò solo pochi secondi, ma in definitiva è stato cruciale quando sono arrivato vicino a Jorge Prado. E poi nella seconda manche ho avuto un ottimo inizio con il duo KTM davanti. Ho fatto i sorpassi e sono andato in testa veramente in fretta. Ho avuto il mio compagno di squadra Lawrence dietro di me, tra me e Thomas Covington che stava guidando davvero bene. Ho fatto il mio meglio per tutta la gara, ho fatto alcuni errori verso la fine e naturalmente sono frustrato che mi ha passato in quel ultima curva. E ‘stato frustrante da un lato, ma sono veramente felice di aver ottenuto la mia quinta vittoria GP quest’anno, che è eccezionale per tutti nella squadra della MX2 di Suzuki. Mi sto divertendo molto a correre in questo momento. Il campionato è importante e non sarà facile solo con tre gare alla fine, ma vedremo come va “.
Jorge Prado: “Ho fatto due partenze veramente buone oggi e nella prima non ho perso troppa energia. Il set-up sulla moto era perfetto. La pista era un po ‘diversa nella seconda moto e non ho potuto andare più veloce. Ho combattuto fino all’ultimo giro e ho passato Paturel e Lawrence per tornare al secondo posto. Sono stato molto contento della mia guida. Non posso dire che questa è la mia pista preferita, ma credo di correre bene e ora sono fisicamente molto forte. Spero di poter fare delle belle gare prima della fine della stagione “.
Pauls Jonass: “Per il secondo week-end di fila siamo terzi e non sono troppo contento, ma abbiamo fatto ancora il podio ed è sempre bene essere coerenti. Non è stato il mio fine settimana migliore e mi è sembrato che il sabato sia andato meglio di oggi! Ho commesso degli errori in entrambe le manche, ma sono riuscito a salvare due terzi posti e ho perso solo un paio di punti nel campionato. Devo concentrarmi sulle ultime gare. Mi sento bene. Adesso avremo qualche giorno di riposo e torneremo al lavoro. ”
OTHER RIDERS COMMENT
Michele Cervellin: Oggi ho avuto due decimi che non sono esattamente dove voglio essere, ma so che la mia corsa è stata buona. La seconda gara è stata molto meglio per me, dato che ho avuto un buon inizio e ho tenuto l’ottavo poi ho avuto un piccolo incidente mentre spingevo per una migliore posizione che significava che sono tornato all’11 °. Sto guardando in avanti negli Stati Uniti dove mi troverò in sella alla nuova CRF250RW.
Clément Desalle: “Mi sono reso conto già dal sabato che l’inizio sarebbe stato importante, forse anche più che su altri circuiti, e per gli ultimi due week-end i miei inizio non sono stati così buoni come all’inizio di questa stagione. Nella prima gara io ero settimo o ottavo all’inizio e ho finito quarto; Stavo cercando di fare alcuni passaggi ad inizio gara, ma oggi ho fallito ed è stato frustrante ma fortunatamente nell’ultimo giro due piloti hanno commesso errori in modo da poter finire quarto. Il secondo inizio era un po ‘meglio; Sono stato sesto, poi quinto, ma ho perso tempo per passare Coldenhoff. Tornato su Paulin, ho fatto un piccolo errore e ho finito nuovamente quarto. Ho perso il podio da un paio di punti, ma continuerò a lavorare perché ora è molto vicino dalla seconda alla quarta posizione nel campionato “.
Antonio Cairoli: “E’ stato un fine settimana difficile ma molto fortunato e torniamo a casa con un po’ di punti in più in classifica; non era così che avevo pensato la mia gara ma le corse a volte vanno così. Nelle ultime settimane ho diminuito un po’ l’intensità dei miei allenamenti per minimizzare il rischio di infortuni e per questo sento di non avere lo stesso stato di forma che avevo ad inizio stagione, ma è comunque quasi impossibile mantenere gli stessi standard per tutto l’anno. In ogni caso sono molto contento per come sta andando il Campionato, anche se oggi sarebbe potuta andare meglio ma la pista era molto insidiosa, con canali profondi, il ritmo molto alto e molti piloti erano determinati a vincere. In gara uno ho avuto un problema sulla griglia e sono uscito ventesimo, poi sono caduto e sono finito venticinquesimo. Ho cercato di guidare evitando rischi e rimontando senza andare incontro a troppi problemi, ma passare non era facile ed all’ultimo giro sono caduto nuovamente mentre cercavo di agguantare il sesto posto, terminando così nono. Di nuovo al via di gara due non sono partito bene ed ho guidato un po’ troppo prudentemente, fin quando non ho visto la moto di Jeffrey a bordo pista ed ho pensato solo a tenere la posizione, tenendomi alla larga dai guai.”
Kevin Strijbos: “Nella prima manche non ho ottenuto una buona partenza e poi nel primo giro ho bloccato la mia gamba sinistra per terra e sono rimasto intrappolato in un canale ed ho urtato la mia gamba con la pedana, così ho avuto una distorsione davvero dolorosa del piede. Non riuscivo a stare in piedi, si stava gonfiando nel mio stivale e sapevo che non era un buon segno. Ho persino pensato che potesse essere rotto così sono rientrato in pit lane e ho tolto gli stivali. Ho messo un po’ di ghiaccio, ho preso alcuni antidolorifici e l’ho fasciato. Era ancora doloroso camminare, ma volevo partire per la seconda manche e in realtà mi sentivo meglio quando ho rimesso lo stivale. Purtroppo ho avuto una partenza simile alla prima e all’inizio la mia mobilità è stata limitata, ma è diventata gradualmente migliore ed ho fatto segnare qualche buon giro. Penso che avessi il terzo giro più veloce nella seconda gara questo a dimostrazione della mia velocità, ho solo bisogno di partire meglio. Ora torniamo a casa per trovare qualcosa per l’America, in modo da poter mostrare il mio vero potenziale in pista.”
Arminas Jasikonis: “Ho lottato per tutto il fine settimana con la mia guida ma il risultato di oggi è molto buono. La mia guida è migliorata, nonostante sia rimasto bloccato dietro a Jeremy Van Horebeek. Non ho potuto sorpassarlo ed ho commesso alcuni errori quando ho cambiato le linee, cosa che ha permesso ad Antonio Cairoli e Romain Febvre di passarmi e per questo ho finito al 10° posto. Nella seconda manche ho guidato ancora meglio, non ho avuto la miglior partenza, ma dopo un paio di giri ho fatto dei buoni sorpassi e sono arrivato al sesto posto. Erano tutti lì, non troppo lontano davanti, ma alcuni errori stupidi mi hanno fatto retrocedere purtroppo. La mia gara è stata buona e sono contento di questo; adesso dobbiamo prepararci per gli Stati Uniti e fare un altro passo in avanti.”
Max Anstie: “Sentivo di avere la velocità per stare nella top 5 qui in Svezia, ma le cose non sono andate così. La qualifica mediocre mi ha complicato molto la vita nelle due manche. In Gara1 ero fuori dalla top 20 in partenza, e ho dovuto fare molti sorpassi. Credo di aver fatto il massimo che potevo, e ho chiuso tredicesimo. Poi in Gara2 mi sentivo in palla nonostante le condizioni mutevoli del tracciato. Di nuovo non sono partito benissimo e ho dovuto risalire il gruppo. L’ottavo posto finale è un risultato positivo, considerando la brutta partenza. Nel complesso sono soddisfatto della mia velocità, e non vedo l’ora di correre negli Stati Uniti.”
Max Nagl: “Uddevalla mi piace molto, e avevo sensazioni positive venendo qua. Purtroppo la fortuna non mi ha assistito durante il weekend. La quarta posizione nella gara di qualificazione mi ha garantito un buon cancelletto per le due finali, e in Gara1 ero partito bene e stavo correndo in quinta posizione, ma a quel punto Romain Febvre mi è caduto davanti. Nell’impatto col terreno la leva del freno davanti si è rotta, e ho dovuto ritirarmi. In Gara2 ero partito di nuovo bene ed ero quarto, quando ho sentito un pilota atterrarmi sulla schiena. Siamo caduto, e quando sono risalito in sella ero ultimo. Nessuno di questi incidenti è stato colpa mia. Spero che il prossimo GP negli USA sia più fortunato.”
Conrad Mewse: “Sono davvero contento di questo quarto posto finale in Svezia. È il mio miglior risultato in carriera in MX2 e la miglior ricompensa per tutto l’impegno che ci abbiamo messo. Grazie al buon quinto posto in qualificazione ho potuto partire bene in Gara1, e nelle prime curve ero terzo. Dopo qualche giro le cose si sono assestate, e ho potuto concentrarmi su di me. Ho corso al mio passo e sono arrivato quarto. Poi in Gara2 non sono partito altrettanto bene, ero fuori dalla top 10 e sono lentamente risalito fino all’ottava posizione grazie a qualche bel sorpasso. Ora spero di mantenere questo slancio nelle ultime gare di campionato.”
Thomas Covington: “Per me è stato un GP difficile, per cui sono soddisfatto di come si sono messe le cose e della vittoria in Gara2. Dopo la caduta nella manche di qualificazione non avevo un gran bel cancelletto, e dopo pochi giri un altro pilota mi è caduto davanti. Sono tornato in sella e ho iniziato a spingere, ma ho fatto un altro errore finendo fuori pista. Alla fine ho tagliato il traguardo sedicesimo. Per Gara2 ho deciso di fare alcune modifiche, cambiando la strategia in partenza. La cosa ha funzionato bene, e ho passato la prima metà gara in lotta nella top 3. Mi sono reso conto che la mia velocità era migliore dei piloti che mi precedevano, e mi sono portato in seconda piazza a cinque giri dal termine. Vedendo che Jeremy Seewer non riusciva ad aumentare il suo ritmo, ho deciso di provarci e sul salto prima dell’ultima curva ho tenuto il gas aperto riuscendo a piazzare il sorpasso vincente. Ora si va negli USA, e non vedo l’ora di correre sul mio terreno di casa!”
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: “Sono soddisfatto della mia prestazione in Gara2. In Gara1 non ero riuscito ad avere un buon feeling. Faticavo a restare veloce, e ho dovuto accontentarmi del nono posto alla bandiera a scacchi. Ho deciso di affrontare Gara2 con un approccio del tutto diverso, e la cosa ha funzionato bene: pur essendo partito fuori dalla top 10, ho realizzato alcuni sorpassi e mi sentivo a mio agio sulla moto: sono riuscito ad arrivare quarto al traguardo e sesto di giornata nel GP. Ora prendiamo le cose positive di Gara2 e ci prepariamo per l’appuntamento negli Stati Uniti.”

MXGP PODIUM
Tim Gajser: It is good to be back on the top step after quite a long time! We have been working so hard for this, we have had some bad weekends and some bad races but we are now getting better and better. I am grateful for everything my team have done and I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone around me. My goal for the end of the season is now to do try and win some more GP’s to finish the season strong. I knew in the second race that if I got second I would take the overall. I made a small mistake at the beginning of the race and then Jeffrey passed me for second. Then, he had a problem with his bike which allowed me to get back into second and catch Romain. It was tough to pass him so the last couple of laps I stepped back a little bit as I knew I had done enough to take the win.
Romain Febvre: “It was a good weekend overall. I had almost two holeshots. In the first moto I was leading from the first lap but I crashed on my own and then got hit by Max Nagl once I was back on my bike, so I crashed again. I still came back to sixth, so I know my speed was good. I just feel that I should have won the first race, but in the second race I led every single lap and won. I am happy to be back on the podium, I want to thank my team and also all of my sponsors that still believe in me.”
Gautier Paulin: “We had a good weekend in Sweden. With the rain falling on Saturday and Sunday morning we were faced with changing track conditions. It took some time for me to get a good feeling but once this happened I was able to get a good speed and keep that throughout both motos. In the opening moto I got off to a good start and after making some mid race passes I managed to get third. Then in the second moto I lost some time right after the gate dropped, but my bike was so good that I could remain inside the top five going into the first corner. It was tough to remain fast on this track and you had to rely a lot on a good technique. I pushed hard for another third-place result and I was happy to earn one more podium result.”
MX2 RIDERS PODIUM
Jeremy Seewer: “In the first moto I got a decent start and made my way to third position, where I then made a small mistake. That only cost me a few seconds, but it would prove crucial in the end as I came home in second, really close to Jorge Prado in first. And then in the second moto I got a really good start with the KTM duo up front. I made the passes happen and moved into the lead really quickly. I had my team mate Lawrence on my back in second place, in between me and Thomas Covington who was riding really well. I did my best all the race, I made a few mistakes near the end and of course I’m frustrated he passed me on that last corner but he was just on another level on those last couple of laps. It was frustrating on one side but I’m really happy to have got my fifth GP win this year, which is awesome for everyone in the Suzuki World MX2 team. I’m just enjoying racing so much at the moment and I’m having a lot of fun. The championship is important and it won’t be easy with just three to go, but we shall see how it goes.”
Jorge Prado: “I made two really good starts today and in the first moto I didn’t spent too much energy. The set-up on the bike was just perfect. The track was a bit different in the second moto and I just couldn’t go any faster. I fought all the way until the last lap and passed Paturel and Lawrence back to get second overall. I was really happy with my riding. I cannot say this is my best track but I think I am riding well quite now and physically I am quite strong. I hope I can do some nice races before the end of the season.”
Pauls Jonass: “For the second weekend in a row we are third and I’m not too happy with that but we made the podium again and it is always good to be consistent. I didn’t have my best weekend and it seemed Saturday went better than today! I made some mistakes in both motos but still managed to salvage two third places and only lost a couple of points in the championship. I need to focus in the last races. I am feeling good. We’ll have a few days off now and then get right back to work.”
OTHER RIDERS
Antonio Cairoli: “This weekend was OK. It is important to look for the championship and I don’t care too much about single races. We are nearly at the end and it is easy to make a mistake and hurt yourself and we really want to bring the title back to KTM. I’m really looking forward to that and I don’t have any pressure to make it happen quickly. We are experienced and can deal with some average results like today. This was never one of my favourite tracks but I have won here six times – equal with Stefan Everts – but I always arrived before without championship pressure and more in ‘attack’ mode. I made some mistakes today and we struggled a little bit. Overall it was OK to finish here safe and healthy for the next one.”
Max Anstie: “I felt I had the speed to battle for the top five this weekend but things didn’t actually work our way. Not getting a great result in qualifying made my life a lot harder for the final motos. In moto one I started outside the top 20 and had to push hard to passes. I really feel I did my best and ended up finishing in 13th place. Going into the second moto I was feeling good on the bike despite changing conditions in the track. My start wasn’t perfect again so had to battle my way through the pack again. Coming home in eighth was a positive result, it made me feel good considering my bad start. Overall, I’m pleased with my speed here in Sweden and I’m looking forward to the coming GP in the States.”
Max Nagl: “I really like the Uddevalla track and I had a really good feeling coming into this GP. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side this weekend. Getting fourth in the qualifying race I had a good starting position for the final motos. In moto one my start was great and I was racing in fifth position until Romain Febvre crashed in front of me. Hitting the ground hard my front brake lever broke so I had to pull in. Then in moto two I got another good start and was racing in fourth until I felt another rider landing in my back. We went down and when I got back into the race I was last. None of these incidents were really my fault. I’m hoping for some better luck in the coming GP in the US.”
Conrad Mewse: “I’m really happy with getting fourth overall in Sweden. It’s the best overall result of my career in MX2 and it’s the best reward for all the hard work we’ve been putting in. Following my good fifth place result in qualifying I got off to a good start in the opening moto and was running in third for the first corners. After a few laps things cleared out and I could focus on myself. I rode my own moto and came home in fourth place. Then in moto two my start wasn’t that good. I started the race outside the top 10 and slowly got myself up to eighth at the finish line making a few good passes along the way. I’m now hoping we can continue this momentum going into the last part of the series.”
Thomas Covington: “It’s been a tough GP for me so I’m satisfied I managed to turn things around and get the victory in the final moto. Following a crash in the qualifying moto I didn’t have a great starting position. In moto one I got a good start but a few laps into the race another rider crashed in front of me. I got back up and started charging but then again I made a mistake coming off the track. Eventually I crossed the line in 16th place. For moto two I decided to make a few changes. I had a different plan for the start and it worked out pretty well. Spending the first half of the race battling for the top three, I could see that my speed was good compared to the riders in front. Putting myself in second five laps before the end I saw that Jeremy Seewer had a steady pace. I decided to go for it and on the jump before the last corner I stayed on the gas and managed to make the pass for the win. We’re now heading to the US and I can’t wait to race on my home soil.”
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: “I’m satisfied with my performance in the second race. In the opening moto I didn’t manage to get a good feeling. I was struggling to remain fast so I had to settle for a ninth-place result at the chequered flag. I decided to approach moto two with a completely different mind-set and that worked out quite well. Starting outside the top 10 I made a few good passes. I was feeling good on my bike so managed to get fourth at the line for sixth overall at the GP. We take the positives from this second moto and move on to the next round in the US.”
Evgeny Bobryshev: The first race went really good for me, I got the holeshot which I was really pleased with. I ended up in fourth and was controlling the race comfortably from there but in the last lap it rained and I had used all my tear-offs so had to take off my goggles off. My vision was bad so I went off the track and got stuck in the mud! Second race was worse, I didn’t have a good start but then I had a little collision with Cairoli and then went down. I managed to come back to tenth place. I can take some positives from this weekend so that is good, I had the speed but it doesn’t seem to be coming together for me at the moment but I am trying to push myself.
Michele Cervellin: I had two 11ths today which isn’t exactly where I want to be but I know my riding was good. The second race was much better for me as I had a good start and was holding eighth then I had a small crash whilst pushing for a better position which meant I came in 11th again. I am looking ahead now to the US where I will be riding the new CRF250RW.
Clément Desalle: “I realised already on Saturday that the start would be important, maybe even more than on other tracks, and for the last two weekends my starts have not been quite as good as they were earlier this season. In the first race I was seventh or eighth at the start and finished fourth; I was trying to make some passes earlier in the race but each failed and it was frustrating but thankfully in the last lap two riders made mistakes so I could finish fourth. The second start was a little bit better; I was sixth, then fifth but I lost time to pass Coldenhoff. I was coming back at Paulin but made a small mistake and I finished fourth again. I missed the podium by a couple of points, but I will continue to work as it is now very close from the second to the fourth position in the championship.”
