Qualifying Narrows the Field for FIM Junior Motocross World Championship
(Tartu) Estonia, 29 luglio, 2017 – Le dolci colline erbose del circuito Lange Motokeskus ospitato le sessioni di qualifica di oggi per FIM Junior Motocross World Championship per domani e la Coppa del Mondo di Motocross FIM Junior 65cc.
I migliori giovani piloti del mondo metteranno le loro abilità alla prova, il tutto cercando di ottenere il gro più veloce sulla terra rossa mista della pista estone. Con oltre 180 piloti tra le 3 classi, solo 120 si qualificano.
125cc Junior Motocross World Championship
La mattinata è iniziata con la 2T 125cc ed è stato il Gruppo A che ha fatto le prime linee in pista attraverso il circuito ben preparato.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory di corsa Mikkel Haarup è uscito volando segnando il giro più veloce della giornata con un tempo di 1:31,612. Mentre Haarup è stato il più veloce nel gruppo A, dal Team France Brian Moreau ha superato i tempi del Gruppo B di prove libere appena davanti a Kevin Horgmo.
Mentre le Prove libere i piloti hanno dato la possibilità di ottenere un primo contatto con la pista, le prove di qualifica è stata messa a fuoco e nel Gruppo A, l’italiano Gianluca Facchetti era tutto carico su Mikkel Haarup per la pole position di Domenica. Haarup ha detto, “La mia qualifica è andata abbastanza bene, ho avuto alcuni buoni giri, non proprio come avrei voluto, ma ho preso il secondo posto nel mio gruppo e ho la terza porta per domani”.
Mentre il terzo tempo più veloce è andato al pilota della squadra di casa Andreas Hiiemägi, col collega estone Meico Vettik che è stato più veloce di chiunque altro nel Gruppo B tra cui Brian Moreau che ha messo insieme il secondo giro più veloce prima di una caduta. Moreau tuttavia si è ricongiunto in prova dopo la caduta.
Purtroppo alcuni piloti non ce l’hanno fatta direttamente dalla prova di qualificazione con la gara LCQ. I primi 4 classificati, Viking Lindström, Christopher Mills, Timur Petrashin, ed Emil Weckman sono stati gli ultimi ad entrare con un posto sul cancello di domani.

85cc Junior Motocross World Championship
Dalla prova della 125 si è passati alle 85cc. Nel gruppo A Free Practice Max Pahlsson ha aperto la strada, ma meno di un secondo lo separava dal 2° e 3°, pilota inglese Eddie Jay Wade e il francese Florian Miot.
Free Practice tempi sul giro del gruppo A sono stati vicini l’uno all’altro, ma così anche nel Gruppo B è stato Noel Nilsson in testa alle classifiche seguito dall ungherese, Adam Zsolt Kovacs, e il solitario sudafricano Camden Mc Lellan.
Eddie Wade ha portato la sua velocità di prove libere nella qualificazione del gruppo A e questa volta la sua marcia regolare lo ha classificato davanti a Phalsson. Nel Gruppo B la qualifica di Nilsson ha avuto ancora una volta il miglior tempo, mentre Kovacs era solo 4 decimi dietro, prende il secondo.
Kovacs sembrava a suo agio sulla pista per tutta la giornata, e lui ha detto: “Le qualifiche sono state molto belle, ho preso il 2 ° tempo in pista e durante i primi 3 giri ho spinto, la pista era bella, ho iniziato a guidare meglio con la pista rovinata, mi piace così, tutto è buono.”
Nella classe 85cc gli ultimi 4 su 40 punti sono stati Nico Greutman, Petr Rathousky, Martin Venhoda, e Tomas Pikart.

65cc Junior Motocross World Cup
La classe 65cc è piena dei più imponenti giovani piloti del mondo di motocross. Con tempi sul giro non lontano delle moto 85cc i piccoli piloti non si sono fatti intimorire dalla pista.
Per il giovane italiano Ferruccio Zanchi il fine settimana non poteva iniziare meglio. Zanchi ha avuto il miglior tempo nelle prove libere e prove di qualificazione non solo del suo Gruppo A, ma di entrambi i gruppi A e B.
In secondo posto dietro Zanchi nel Gruppo A è stato Ivano Van Erp dai Paesi Bassi, mentre nel Gruppo B il più veloce nelle prove libere e di qualificazione è stato il recente campione EMX65 Mads Fredsoe.
Fredsoe è stato seguito dal finlandese Saku Mansikkamäki in prove libere e il suo compagno di squadra danese Jakob Madsen nella qualifica.
La classe 65cc non faceva eccezione quando si tratta delle ultime qualificazioni LCQ. Gli spot finali sono andati a Uldis Freibergs, Bradley Mesters, Eldar Mukimkhanov e Kirils Maslovs.

Qualifying Narrows the Field for FIM Junior Motocross World Championship
(TARTU) Estonia, 29 July 2017 – The grassy rolling hills of the Lange Motokeskus circuit hosted the qualifying sessions today for tomorrow’s FIM Junior Motocross World Championship and 65cc FIM Junior Motocross World Cup.
The world’s best young racers put their skills to the test, all trying to get the fastest single lap on the mixed red soil of the Estonian track. With over 180 riders between the 3 classes, only 120 would make the cut.
125cc Junior Motocross World Championship
The morning started with the 125cc 2t and it was the Free Practice Group A who made the first lines on the track carving through the well prepped circuit.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Mikkel Haarup came out flying and put in the fastest lap of the day with a 1:31.612 time. While Haarup was fastest in Group A, Team France’s Brian Moreau topped the Group B Free Practice times just ahead of Kevin Horgmo.
While Free Practice gave riders a chance to get a feel for the track, the Qualifying Practice was the focus and in Group A, the Italian Gianluca Facchetti was all business topping Mikkel Haarup for pole position on Sunday. Haarup said, “My qualifying went quite fine, I had some good laps, not quite like I wanted to but I took second in my group and I have third gate pick tomorrow.”
While the third fastest Group A time went to the home team’s Andreas Hiiemägi, fellow Estonian Meico Vettikwas quicker than anyone in Group B including Brian Moreau who put together the second fastest lap prior to a crash. Moreau however rejoined the practice after shaking off the fall.
For the riders who didn’t make it straight out of qualifying practice a last chance race was given. The top 4 last chance finishers of Viking Lindström, Christopher Mills, Timur Petrashin, and Emil Weckman were the last to be guaranteed a spot on the gate tomorrow.

85cc Junior Motocross World Championship
From the 125cc’s the track was turned over to the 85cc rippers. In group A Free Practice Max Pahlsson led the way but less than a second separated him from 2nd and 3rd, British rider Eddie Jay Wade and Frenchman Florian Miot.
Group A’s Free Practice lap times were close to one another but so too were Group B’s. Noel Nilsson topped the charts ahead of the Hungarian, Adam Zsolt Kovacs, and the lone South African Camden Mc Lellan.
Eddie Wade carried his free practice speed into A Group’s Qualifying and this time out his smooth riding out ranked that of Phalsson’s. In Group B Qualifying Nilsson again had the fastest time while Kovacs was only 4 tenths of a second off his pace.
Kovacs looked comfortable on the track throughout the day, and he said: “Qualifying was very nice I came off the track 2nd and during the first 3 laps I pushed, the track was nice, it started to get bumpy, which I like so everything is good.”
In 85cc class the last 4 of 40 spots were filled via the last chance race top 4 of Nico Greutman, Petr Rathousky, Martin Venhoda, and Tomas Pikart.

65cc Junior Motocross World Cup
The 65cc class is full of the most impressive young riders in the motocross world. With lap times not far off of the 85cc bikes the little riders are railing their way around the track.
For Italian youngster Ferruccio Zanchi the weekend couldn’t have started any better. Zanchi had the fastest time in Free Practice and Qualifying Practice of not only of his Group A, but of either group A or B.
Second to Zanchi in Group A was Ivano Van Erp from the Netherlands while in Group B the fastest in Free Practice and the qualifier was the recently crowned EMX65 champion Mads Fredsoe.
Fredsoe was followed by Finland’s Saku Mansikkamäki in Free Practice and his Danish teammate Jakob Madsenin Qualifying.
The 65cc class was no exception when it comes to last chance qualifiers. The final spots went to Uldis Freibergs, Bradley Mesters, Eldar Mukimkhanov, and Kirils Maslovs.
