ALEKSANDR TONKOV AND MEGA BULK FUELS MONSTER ENERGY KAWASAKI PART WAYS

Kawasaki ha confermato che rilascia il russo Aleksandr Tonkov dal suo contratto a metà strada del Motul MX Nationals del 2017 a seguito di cinque turni frustranti.

La preparazione limitata che ha avuto il 23enne, nonostante la velocità per fare la Super Pole a Conondale e attualmente l’ottavo posto nella classifica del campionato, fa decidere il Team per una separazione.
 
“Questa non è una situazione ideale, ma siamo ancora focalizzati e siamo in buon spirito arrivando nella seconda metà della stagione motocross”, ha detto il team manager Troy Carroll. “Continueremo a competere nel MX Nationals con il rookie più promettente sul campo, Nathan Crawford e speriamo di annunciare subito un sostituito di Tonkov”.
 
La partenza di Tonkov da MEGA Bulk Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki apre un posto privilegiato nella categoria MX1 per la restante parte della stagione all’aperto, con i piloti ad alto profilo come Brett Metcalfe, Jay Wilson sul mercato.

Limited preparation had the 23-year-old enter the series on the back-foot, however despite displaying the speed to make Super Pole at Conondale, he currently sits eighth in the championship standings.
 
“This is not an ideal situation, however we are remaining focused and we are in good spirits coming into the second half of the motocross season,” said team manager Troy Carroll. “We will continue to compete in the 2017 MX Nationals with the most promising rookie in the field, Nathan Crawford and we will hopefully be announcing a replacement rider for Tonkov shortly.”
Tonkov’s departure from MEGA Bulk Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki opens a prized seat in the premier MX1 category for the remainder of the outdoor season at least, with high profile riders such as Brett Metcalfe, Jay Wilson on the market following a turbulent number of weeks in the sport locally.
