FIM Motocross World Championship – MX1 / MX2

LOMMEL (Belgio), Luglio 2016 – Lo scorso fine settimana c’è stato il contrasto di stili di guida tra Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing di Max Nagl e della Honda di Gariboldi Tim Gajser che hanno dato il tono al GP della Repubblica Ceca, che ha avuto luogo presso l’elevata, rocciosa, pista a base di argilla di Loket. Soggiornare in sintonia con il tema del contrasto, questo fine settimana il quattordicesimo round del FIM Motocross World Championship, il GP del Belgio si svolgerà a Lommel, una struttura che non ha colline, ma è fatto di sabbia senza fondo.

Chiedete a chiunque; ‘Fuori dai diciotto circuiti che compongono la serie MXGP, quale è la più dura?’ C’è una probabilità del 90% che la loro risposta sia ‘Lommel’ e vedrete il motivo per cui questo fine settimana, in particolare con l’aggiunta dei Campionati Europei, dove i titoli possono essere vinti nel EMX250, EMX125 e la EMX300 Presentato da FMF Racing.

Lo scorso fine settimana le prestazioni di Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing di Max Nagl sono state epiche da vedere, soprattutto con Tim Gajser al top del suo gioco in questo momento. Il tedesco, che era un membro del Team Germany, la squadra che ha vinto nel 2012 il Monster Energy FIM Motocross delle Nazioni che ha avuto luogo proprio qui, nei box brutali di Lommel, sarà una minaccia per il podio ancora una volta questo fine settimana.

Il gatto super-fiammeggiante che noi chiamiamo ‘Tiga’, Honda Gariboldi Tim Gajser, è destinato ad essere una bestia difficile da domare questo fine settimana. Flashback alla sua performance epica nella sabbia di Valkenswaard, un’altra pista di sabbia famosa che è a soli 30 km da qui, all’inizio di questa stagione in cui ha vinto la gara di apertura. Tim sta gettando le Smack Down su tutti nella MXGP negli ultimi tredici turni. E ancora non finisce fuori dal podio e attualmente guida il campionato con 109 punti di vantaggio su Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli.

Nel caso ve lo siete perso Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli è risalito sulla KTM350SX-F lo scorso fine settimana a Loket e mentre lui non ha fatto quello che sperava, c’è una buona probabilità che sia sicuro al 100% che ha fatto la scelta giusta per questo fine settimana, anche se non è il suo Gran Premio di casa, è una cosa vicina per l’italiano che risiede a Lommel durante la stagione.

Sarà un gran premio vero e proprio a casa di tre minacce per il podio, del team Suzuki world MXGP Kevin Strijbos, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Jeremy Van Horebeek e Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team Clement Desalle. Tutti e tre i piloti non vincono a Lommel tutte le volte che si è corso, ma è una pista che è difficile da dimenticare.

Nel frattempo un altro pilota è necessario tenere d’occhio è Wilvo Virus Performance del KTM Shaun Simpson, negli ultimi anni al GP del Belgio è vincitore. Simpson è stato alle prese con set up della moto e gli infortuni in questa stagione, ma si sentirà a casa questo fine settimana dato che vive a pochi minuti lungo la strada.

Per quanto riguarda il campione in carica di Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Romain Febvre, egli si sentirà un po ‘meglio questo fine settimana con un’altra settimana di allenamento e test.

E ‘stato detto circa cento milioni di volte, il problema più grande di Jeffrey Herlings è … Jeffrey Herlings. Non vi è alcuna conferma ancora, solo la sua, ma The Bullet non si schiererà sulla sua moto Red Bull KTM Factory Racing a Lommel in questo fine settimana. Se lui non c’è, i principali candidati per la vittoria in MX2 saranno Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team Dylan Ferrandis, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Max Anstie, del Team Suzuki Word MX2 Jeremy Seewer e Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Pauls Jonass, se sta bene anche lui.

Anstie è un tipo ‘coulda-shoulda-woulda’ di pilota. Ha le competenze, come abbiamo visto, dal momento che è un vincente nel gran premio sabbioso di Lommel. Egli ha vinto negli ultimi due anni ed è probabile che è pronto a fare lo stesso di nuovo, anche se Ferrandis conosce una cosa o due riguardo la guida su sabbia, è venuta alla sua prima vittoria di Gran Premio della stagione lo scorso fine settimana, potrebbe essere una buona scommessa.

Mentre non si può avere normalmente raccolto del team Suzuki Word MX2 Jeremy Seewer come un potenziale vincitore nella sabbia, sarà interessante vedere il suo progresso in quanto la formazione sotto l’ala del dieci vote FIM Motocross campione del mondo Stefan Everts.

Per quanto riguarda i super-spoiler … Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team Petar Petrov è un altro rider “locale”, anche se lui è di origine bulgara, vive a Lommel per quello che sappiamo…… L’anno scorso il ‘152’ è atterrato sul podio per la prima volta nella sua carriera. Egli sarà pronto a fare lo stesso o meglio in questo fine settimana.

LOMMEL (Belgium), 27 July 2016 – Last weekend it was the contrast of riding styles between Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Max Nagl and Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser that set the tone at the MXGP of Czech Republic, which took place at the heavily elevated, rocky, clay-based track of Loket. Staying in tune with the theme of contrast, this weekend the fourteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, the Fiat Professional MXGP of Belgium will take place in Lommel, a facility that has no hills but is made out of bottomless sand. Ask anyone; ‘out of the eighteen tracks that make up the MXGP series, which one is the gnarliest?’ There is a 90 % chance that their response will be ‘Lommel’ and you’ll see why this weekend especially with the addition of the European Championship where titles can be won in the EMX250, EMX125 Presented by FMF Racingand the EMX300 Presented by FMF Racing. The Honda European 150 Championship will also line up for the third round of their series.   Last weekend Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Max Nagl ‘s performance was epic to see, especially with Tim Gajser being at the top of his game right now. The German, who was a member of Team Germany, the team that won the 2012 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations that took place right here in the brutal pits of Lommel, will be a threat for the podium once again this weekend. The super flamboyant cat we call ‘Tiga’, Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser, is bound to be a hard beast to tame this weekend. Flashback to his epic performance in the sand of Valkenswaard, another famed sand track that is only 30km away from here, earlier this season where he won the opening race. Tim has been laying the smack down on everyone in MXGP over the last thirteen rounds. He’s yet to finish off the podium and currently leads the championship by 109 points over Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli. In case you missed it Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli switched back to the KTM350SX-F last weekend in Loket and while he didn’t make quite the splash he was hoping for, there’s a good chance he is 100% sure he’s made the right choice for this weekend, even though it’s not his home grand prix, it’s the next closest thing for the Italian who resides in Lommel during the season. It will be an actual home grand prix for three more podium threats, Team Suzuki World MXGP’s Kevin Strijbos, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Van Horebeek and Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Clement Desalle. All three riders don’t ride Lommel as often as you think, but it is a track that is hard to forget, so they’ll be quick. Meanwhile another rider you will need to keep an eye on is Wilvo Virus Performance KTM’s Shaun Simpson, last years MXGP of Belgium winner. Simpson has been struggling with bike set-up and injuries this season, but will be feeling home this weekend since he lives only a few minutes up the road. There is no confirmation just yet, but all fingers and toes are crossed that The Bullet will line up on his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine in Lommel this weekend. If he doesn’t line up then the main candidates for the win in MX2 will be Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Dylan Ferrandis, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Max Anstie, Team Suzuki World MX2’s Jeremy Seewer and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pauls Jonass, if he was going to ride. Anstie is a ‘coulda-shoulda-woulda’ type of rider. He’s got the skills, as we’ve seen before since he is a two-time grand prix winner here in the sands of Lommel. He has won it for the last two years and is likely to do the same again if Jeffrey is not on the line, although in saying that Ferrandis knows a thing or two about riding sand as well and since he is coming off his first grand prix win of the season, last weekend, he could be a good bet. While you may not have normally picked Team Suzuki World MX2’s Jeremy Seewer as a potential winner in the sand, it will be interesting to see his progression since training under the wing of the ten-time FIM Motocross World Champion Stefan Everts. As for the super-spoilers… Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Petar Petrov is another “local”, even though he is originally Bulgarian, he has been living in Lommel for what seems like forever. Last year the ‘152’ landed on the podium here for the first time in his career. He’ll be expecting the same or better this weekend.
