MXGP season over for Matiss Karro
Martedì 12 luglio 2016 – 24MX Lucas Oil Honda Matiss Karro ha finito terzo nella classe MX1 nel tradizionale Sõmerpalu Stadionkross in Estonia la scorsa settimana. Karro unito al vincitore assoluto Tanel Leok e Harri Kullas secondo sul podio.
Purtroppo Karro è stato vittima di un incidente in curva nella superfinale. Con la sua moto danneggiata e qualche disagio al ginocchio Matiss era in grado di proseguire. Ulteriori esami hanno confermato la diagnosi dura per l’ex campione del mondo Junior FIM. Karro di nuovo infortunato al ginocchio sinistro, il danno è significativo.
Matiss Karro: “L’ incidente è stato molto casuale, ma il danno che ne risulta è piuttosto peggiore comunque. I legamenti del ginocchio si sono stirati mentre il menisco è stato strappato via e rimasto bloccato tra l’osso e il ginocchio all’interno. Avrò un intervento chirurgico questa settimana, dopo che arrivavo di nuovo da una riabilitazione.
Questa è stata la stagione più buia della mia carriera, nel momento in cui mi sono sentito più forte che mai in inverno. Mi sentivo super felice con la squadra e la moto, ma non sono mai stato in grado di mostrare cosa possiamo fare. Questa è purtroppo è la linea di fondo. Ho davvero apprezzato tutto il duro lavoro che la squadra ha messo in pre-stagione e di come mi hanno sostenuto durante tutto l’anno e quando ero pronto a fare il mio ritorno. Inoltre devo dire un grande grazie a tutti i miei fan, Honda Europa e miei sponsor lettoni. Mi hanno sostenuto per essere al miglior livello. ”

Tuesday, July 12, 2016 — 24MX Lucas Oil Honda rider Matiss Karro finished third in the MX1 class in the traditional Sõmerpalu Stadionkross in Estonia last week. Karro joined overall winner Tanel Leok and runner up Harri Kullas on the podium.
Unfortunately Karro was the victim of a second corner pile-up in the Superfinal. With his bike damaged and some discomfort to his knee Matiss was unable to proceed. Further examinations have confirmed a harsh diagnosis for the former FIM youth world champion. Karro again injured his left knee, the internal damage is significant.
Matiss Karro: “The crash intself was very random but the resulting injury is pretty bad nevertheless. The knee ligaments snapped while the meniscus has been ripped off and got stuck between the bone and the inside knee. I will have surgery this week, after that I have to trough rehab again.
This has been the darkest season of my career exactly at the time when I felt stronger than ever in winter. I felt super happy with the team and the bike but I was never able to show what we can do. That’s unfortunately the bottom line. I really appreciate all the hard work that the team has put in pre-season and how they supported me throughout the year and when I was ready to make my comeback. Also big thanks to all my fans, Honda Europe and my Latvian sponsors. No matter what they still believed in me and supported me to be at the best level.”
