Come vi avevamo confermato un paio di settimane fa, Brian Hsu è infortunato e ora si sta riprendendo dopo l’operazione, di seguito il comunicato ufficiale riguardo il recupero!
Il pilota Brian Hsu del Team Suzuki Mondiale MX2 spera in un periodo di recupero senza problemi dopo l’intervento chirurgico di due settimane fa alla sua mano sinistra e al polso e uno spostamento dell’articolazione, che vedrà l’adolescente talentuoso due mesi in panchina.
L’ex Campione mondiale ed europeo [125 Junior] ha esordito in un Gran Premio nel 2015 e ha sorpreso molti con la sua velocità istantanea e ambientamento nella MX2 finendo nella top-10 nella prima manche del round lombardo di Mantova la scorsa estate. Il 17enne ha continuato a stupire con la sua tecnica e le capacità nel supercross durante l’autunno, brillante presso il prestigioso Paris-Lille SX con un podio. Purtroppo un incidente durante la gara della manifestazione Motolive – che coincide con il più grande spettacolo di moto d’Europa all’EICMA di Milano – il mese scorso si è infortunato al polso e mano sinistra.
“Brian è stato molto sfortunato a Milano su una pista che era forse troppo facile e lui è caduto piuttosto pesantemente sulla mano sinistra, “ha commentato il Direttore Generale Stefan Everts. «Andrà ora a Taiwan per vedere la famiglia durante il periodo di vacanza e continuare il suo recupero con il fisioterapista. Tornerà poi nel mese di gennaio, dove frequenta la scuola e ci auguriamo che possa pensare di tornare in moto, non appena è pienamente in forma e pronto. E ‘importante che lui non sottovaluti questo tipo di lesione e vogliamo solo vederlo sano e pronto per le corse.
Hsu non era stato scelto per fare la sua prima uscita nel 2016 come membro a pieno titolo della MX2 fino al quarto round (ora terzo round in Olanda dopo la recente cancellazione del Gran Premio di Malesia) e questo calendario potrebbe essere ancora realistico.
Il compagno di squadra Jeremy Seewer è anche in un processo di recupero. Lo svizzero, che ha chiuso quinto nella serie MX2 nel 2015 sulla RM-Z250 – il suo primo mandato pieno come un Pro – necessita di un’operazione per riparare una parte della struttura ossea in bocca e per sostituire più denti che erano l’eredità di un incidente in allenamento all’inizio dell’anno. “Ho avuto il problema con la mia bocca e avevo usato alcuni denti finti per un bel po”, ha spiegato il 21enne. «Così ho aspettato fino la fine della stagione per avere l’operazione e stare fermo 10 giorni senza non fare molto, ma il problema è quasi risolto.”
“Stiamo spingendo duramente sulla moto da corsa per il prossimo anno e Stefan è stato molto forte con il lavoro che volevamo fare sul motore. Sono sicuro che vedremo miglioramenti per la prossima stagione “, ha detto Seewer, che ha raggiunto il podio del Gran Premio in due occasioni nel 2015 e punta per più podi nella prossima serie di 18 round che inizia a Losail, in Qatar per il quarto anno di fila il 27 febbraio.

HSU PLANNING SWIFT RECOVERY FOR 2016 SEASON
Team Suzuki World MX2 rider Brian Hsu is hoping for a trouble-free recovery period after undergoing surgery two weeks ago on his left hand and wrist and a displacement of the joint that will see the talented teenager face two months on the sidelines.
The former World and European [125cc Junior] Champion made his Grand Prix debut in 2015 and surprised many with his instant speed and acclimatisation to MX2 with a top-10 finish in the first moto of the Lombardian round at Mantova last summer. The 17 year old continued to impress with his supercross technique and capabilities during the autumn, shining at the prestigious Paris-Lille SX with a podium result. Unfortunately a crash while racing at the Motolive event – that coincides with Europe’s largest bike show at EICMA in Milan – last month led to a damaged and dislocated left wrist/ hand.
“Brian was very lucky at Milan on a track that was perhaps too easy and he crashed quite heavily on his left hand,” commented General Manager Stefan Everts. “He’ll now head to Taiwan to see some family over the holiday period and continue his recovery and physio. He’ll then be back in January where he’ll attend school and we hope he can think about riding as soon as he is fully fit and ready. It is important that he doesn’t rush this type of injury and we just want to see him healthy and set for racing.”
Hsu had not been set to make his first outing in 2016 as a full-fledged member of the MX2 set-up until round four (now round three in Holland after the recent cancellation of the Grand Prix of Malaysia) and this timetable could still be realistic.
Team-mate Jeremy Seewer has also been in a recuperation process. The Swiss, who finished fifth in the MX2 series in 2015 on the works RM-Z250 – his first full term as a Pro – needed an operation to repair part of the bone structure in his mouth and to replace several teeth that were the legacy of a practice crash earlier in the year. “I had the problem with my mouth and had been using some fake teeth for quite a while,” the 21 year old explained. “So I had been waiting until the off-season to have the operation and it meant 10 days of not doing much but the problem is almost fixed.
“We have been pushing really hard on the racebike for next year and Stefan has been very strong with the work we wanted to do on the engine. I’m sure we’ll see improvements for next season,” said Seewer, who reached the Grand Prix podium on two occasions in 2015 and is tipped for more silverware for the forthcoming 18-round series that starts at Losail, Qatar for the fourth year in a row on February 27th.
