Justin Bogle tornerà a GEICO Honda

Dopo molte speculazioni su dove sarebbe finito Justin Bogle, ecco che arriva la conferma che tornerà con l’unica squadra che abbia mai conosciuto, GEICO Honda. Il team ha annunciato questa mattina di aver rinnovato il contratto con Bogle per la stagione 2016 e la sua prima volta nella Classe 450.

Bogle è entrato nel team nel 2011 per completare la sua stagione amatoriale finale, e ha vinto l’AMA Horizon Award. Ha trascorso tutta la sua carriera professionale con la squadra.

“Conoscere tutti qui e lavorare con lo stesso gruppo di persone renderà questa transizione molto più semplice”, Bogle, ha detto in un comunicato. “Sto molto bene con questa squadra, lo sono sempre stato, e ho fiducia in tutto quello che questi ragazzi fanno per i piloti.

“Un grande grazie ai proprietari del team, Jeff Majkrzak, Ziggy [Rick Zielfelder], Mike Grondahl, e tutti alla Honda per aver creduto in me e avermi dato questa opportunità”, ha continuato. “Questo è ciò che si sogna da bambino quando stai correndo ogni fine settimana in pista e spingere te stesso per ottenere il meglio. E ‘per tutto il lavoro che si fa quando i tuoi amici stanno andando fuori a divertirsi. Questo alla fine è un sogno divenuto realta.”

Dopo aver vinto il 2014 250SX East Lites Class Championship, Bogle è arrivato secondo a Marvin Musquin nel 2015, finendo fuori dal podio solo una volta (St. Louis), con la raccolta di una vittoria e quattro secondi posti. Il nativo dell’Oklahoma è stato ferito alla gara di apertura del Lucas Oil Pro Motocross a Hangtown e perse i restanti otto turni. Quando tornò al round dieci a Unadilla, ha preso la decisione di chiudere la stagione nella classe 450 in previsione del 2016. Il suo miglior piazzamento è stato un quinto di moto all’ Ironman.

“Non avevo intenzione di che aspettarmi quando ho guidato una 450 quelle ultime tre gare, ma mi ha dato la possibilità di vedere quello che sarò”, Bogle, ha detto. “Sono i migliori piloti del mondo, i ragazzi più veloci, i ragazzi che hanno lavorato sodo che incontrerò. Sarà una grande sfida. Ma alla fine della giornata stare in sella ad una moto da cross, è qualcosa che ‘Ho fatto per tutta la mia vita. ”

Bogle si diceva di entrare a far parte del team con Chad Reed su una Yamaha Factory con il patrocinio Monster Energy, ma l’affare sembra essere caduto nelle ultime due settimane. GEICO Honda poi ha deciso di portare Bogle indietro in un ruolo simile a quello dell’anno scorso con Eli Tomac, dove si compete con la Honda HRC 450, sotto la tenda insieme a Trey Canard e Cole Seely.

“Justin si è guadagnato questa opportunità e siamo felici di avere un posto per lui, grazie alla nostra lunga collaborazione e il partenariato con la Honda,” ha dichiarato Rick Zielfelder. “Justin ha guadagnato per GEICO Honda un campionato lo scorso anno e quasi lo difese quest’anno. Era sempre davanti nel mix su una 250, e ci aspettiamo più dello stesso su un 450.”

Justin Bogle Will Return to GEICO Honda

After much speculation on where he would end up, Justin Bogle will return to the only team he’s ever known—GEICO Honda. The team announced this morning that it has re-signed Bogle for the 2016 season, his first in the 450 Class.

Bogle joined the team in 2011 to complete his final amateur season, and won the AMA Horizon Award. He has spent his entire professional career with the team.

“Knowing everyone here and working with the same group of people will make this transition so much easier,” Bogle said in a statement. “I’m really comfortable with this team, always have been, and I trust in everything these guys do for the riders.

“Big thanks to [team owners] Jeff Majkrzak, Ziggy [Rick Zielfelder], Mike Grondahl, and everyone at Honda for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” he continued. “This is what you dream about as a kid when you’re racing every weekend at the local track and pushing yourself to get better. It’s for all the work you put in when your friends are going out and having fun. This is the ultimate dream come true.”

After winning the 2014 250SX East Region Championship, Bogle finished runner-up to Marvin Musquin in 2015, finishing off the podium just once (St. Louis) while collecting one win and four runner-up finishes. The Oklahoma native was injured at the opening round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross at Hangtown and missed the next eight rounds. When he returned at round ten at Unadilla, he made the decision to finish the season in the 450 Class in anticipation of 2016. His best moto finish was a fifth at Ironman.

“I wasn’t going all-out when I rode a 450 those last three races, but it did give me a chance to see what I’ll be up against,” Bogle said. “It’s the best riders in the world, the fastest guys, the guys that have worked just as hard as you have. It’ll be a great challenge. But at the end of the day it’s riding a dirt bike, which is something I’ve done my whole life.”

Bogle was rumored to be joining Chad Reed on a factory Yamaha team with Monster Energy sponsorship, but that deal seemed to have fallen through in the last couple weeks. GEICO Honda then decided to bring Bogle back in a role similar to Eli Tomac’s last year, where he will pit out of Honda HRC’s 450 truck, alongside Trey Canard and Cole Seely.

“Justin has earned this chance and we’re happy to have a spot for him, thanks to our long association and partnership with Honda,” Rick Zielfelder said. “Justin earned GEICO Honda a championship last year and almost defended it this year. He was always up front and in the mix on a 250, and we expect more of the same on a 450.”
