Suzuki dominated the second round of the German ADAC MX Masters Championship at Jauer in Saxony at the weekend as Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MXGPs Kevin Strijbos made his return from injury to take the top step of the Masters podium aboard his RM-Z450.

Second overall was Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Glenn Coldenhoff ahead of Team Castrol Power1 Suzuki Moto-Base Suzuki’s Dennis Ullrich, as Brian Hsu took victory in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup class aboard his Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe RM-Z250.

Strijbos stormed to the front in moto one and never looked back as pole-setter Coldenhoff Coldenhoff secured second and Ullrich fourth after a bad start. Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe MX2 rider Jeremy Seewer also had his issues with the start. “I was involved in a collision and had to come from behind,” the Swiss explained after climbing back up to sixth.

Moto two gave the Suzuki camp the best possible result. Strijbos didn´t have a particularly good start, but the Belgian found his way to the front quickly but was chased hard by Coldenhoff, Ullrich and Seewer. “I managed to get into second fairly soon,” he said. “Glenn was riding a blistering pace at the front so it took me until after the middle of the race to pass him.” Coldenhoff was pleased with his performance. “To get beaten by Kevin is no disaster,” the Dutchman offered. “I finished runner-up twice and have taken the lead in the series so I´d like to see things keep going that way.”

Ullrich ended the moto in third and Seewer fourth as Ullrich now sees himself in a good position in defending his title: “My form is good. To stand on the podium next to two Suzuki riders is a great feeling, things are going in the right direction.” Jeremy Seewer showed his speed with a determined race after a mediocre start and had Ullrich in his sights when they crossed the finish line.

Hsu scored maximum points in the Youngster Cup class. After searching for the right set-up of his RM-Z250 on Saturday, Hsu was flying around the jump-filled Jauer track on Sunday. “I had two great starts and two fine motos,” the 17-year-old said. “I´m now second in the standings, only three points behind the leader.”

Hsu’s team-mate Bas Vaessen impressed in moto one, finishing directly behind his team-mate, but the Dutchman was unluck to early in race two and failed to score further points. Tom Koch (Team ADAC Hessen-Thüringen Johannes-Bikes Suzuki) had two strong rides to finish 10th and seventh respectively to fly the flag for Suzuki’s RM-Z450.
