COLDENHOFF TORNA IN SUZUKI dopo l’infortunio 

Mentre si preparano per il Gran Premio di Svezia il 12 ° round dei 17 nel FIM Motocross World Championship questo weekend, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europa è entusiasta di sentire che Glenn Coldenhoff guida la sua RM-Z250 per la prima volta questa settimana dalla sua ricostruzione del ginocchio sinistro . 

Coldenhoff, che ha ottenuto tre podi nelle prime quattro gare della MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship, si è infortunato in allenamento per il Gran Premio d’Olanda alla fine di aprile e ha fatto un fantastico recupero, da quanto inizialmente era previsto un periodo di stop da 16-20 settimane, essere tornato sulla Suzuki in solo mesi due e mezzo.

“Mi sento abbastanza bene e dopo un grande infortunio spero che sia quasi finito”, ha detto il 23enne. “E ‘stato un momento davvero difficile per me, le prime due settimane e mezzo con un sacco di dolore. Abbiamo ancora una lunga strada da fare ma ho fatto più di una migliaio di km in bicicletta nel mio recupero, sia su strada che mountain bike, così come un sacco di fisio. Ho lavorato sodo e sta dando i suoi frutti “.

“Ho avuto l’ok dal mio medico personale la settimana scorsa e ho visitato il chirurgo presso l’impianto medico che cura il mio ginocchio e ha anche detto che il lavoro va bene”, ha continuato Coldenhoff. “Ho spinto piuttosto duro con la mountain bike e mi sento abbastanza bene, ora sono pronto a provare per la prima volta in pista.

“Non ho indicazioni sul mio ginocchio al momento, si tratta di guidare e sono sicuro che mi stanco molto rapidamente”, ha commentato prima di salire a bordo della Suzuki. «Ma ho intenzione di guidare su una pista che si trova a soli due chilometri da casa mia dove giro a occhi chiusi. Non vedo l’ora di tornare in moto. ”

Si tratta di un pezzo importante di una buona notizia per l’equipaggio mentre viaggiano verso Uddevalla per la prima delle due gare del Nord Europa nel giro di una settimana. Nonostante l’ottimismo Coldenhoff non ha ancora prefissato il suo obiettivo iniziale di essere per la fine dei due Gran Premi dell’anno, in Brasile e Messico, nella la sua stagione nella classe MX2 prima che si sposti su una RM-Z450 per la MXGP con Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europa nel 2015.

COLDENHOFF BACK ON SUZUKI AFTER INJURY 
 

As they prepare for the Grand Prix of Sweden and the 12th round of 17 in the FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe was ecstatic to hear that Glenn Coldenhoff rode his RM-Z250 for the first time this week since his left knee reconstruction. 

Coldenhoff, who scored three podium finishes on his factory machine in the first four rounds of the MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship, was injured in training for the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of April and has made a fantastic recovery, from what was initially forecast as a 16-20-week period, to be back on the Suzuki in just two-and-a-half months.

“I feel quite good and after a big injury I hope I am almost done,” the 23 year old said. “It was a really hard time for me, and the first two and a half weeks involved a lot of pain. We still have a long way to go but I have done more than a 1000km on the bicycle in my recovery – both road and mountain bike – as well as a lot of physio. I’ve been working hard and it is paying off.”

“I got the OK from my personal doctor last week and I visited the surgeon at the Ortema facility that fixed my knee and he also said the joint was looking fine,” Coldenhoff continued. “I have been pushing pretty hard with the mountain bike and it has felt pretty good and now I’m ready to try for the first time on the track.

“I don’t have a gauge on my knee at the moment when it comes to riding and I’m sure I will get tired quite quickly,” he commented before climbing onboard the Suzuki. “But I plan to ride at a track that is just two kilometres from my home and that I could lap with my eyes shut. I can’t wait to be back on the bike.”

It is a major piece of good news for the crew as they travel to Uddevalla for the first of two northern European races in the space of a week. Despite the optimism Coldenhoff has not yet adjusted his initial goal of being back for the final two Grands Prix of the year – in Brazil and Mexico – and his last in the class before he then moves to an RM-Z450 for his maiden MXGP campaign for Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe in 2015.

“It is too early to say how things may or may not go,” he opined. “I have been totally focused on the rehab and I just want to continue in this positive way and see what happens. Either way it was great we could get to this stage after just two and a half months and I want to thank everybody that helped me.”
