RACE REPORT ROUND#2 NOTO (SR) – 9 FEBBRAIO 2014

TC222 REAL MADE IN SICILY

Report TIME – Round#2 Noto 9 Febbraio 2014

REAL MADE IN SICILY
Report TIME – #2 Noto (SC), 9th February 2014
There were no doubts about the final result but none wants to lose the show. As it has been pre-announced, it was the event where everyone wanted to be, in order to see an emotional Antonio Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) racing and whipping each jump, among his friends in “his” sunny Sicily, with the wonderful town of Noto (SR) as background.

After the “sandy” first round, the second one was characterized by hard ground track, that usually is not the favorite soil by the KTM champion. Despite the ground, TC222 gets the highest jump of the podium both in the M1 and in the Elite class. Holeshot won in both the two races and faster than anyone from the start till the finish line. Cairoli literally voids his challengers efforts on the track and increases the gap lap by lap: precious points for his team managaer De Carli, looking at the championship classification.

In the MX1 race, behind him, Jeremy Van Horebeek (Yamaha Factory Racing) passes Todd Waters (Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing) during the last laps. Davide Guarneri (TM Ricci Racing) remaines out of the podium, despite his great start.

In the ELITE class, the podium is the same as in MX1, as well as the frantic race behind Tony, who does not leave any kind of opportunity to reach him to his challengers. An exciting battle is that one between Guarneri and Waters, who arrives in front of the Italian rider. Instead it is an unlucky day for David Philippaerts (Yamaha DP19 racing) who bumps some positions, when, for a while, he loses the control of his understeering bike in the second half of the race.

In the MX2 class the world vice-champion Jordi Tixier (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) starts ahead and lead the race till the last lap, when he is first at the finish line in front of Christophe Charlier (Yamaha Factory Racing), who gains the red leader plate. Third placed is Alessandro Lupino (CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy), who recovers from the eighth position, showing once again his talent. Unlucky Ivo Monticelli (Marchetti Racing Team KTM) is not able to close in after a wonderful start.
On the contrary of the top-riders races, the MX125 (under 17) class is more exciting and full of passes. At the end of the race-day the overall classification awards Joakin Furbetta (KTM Team Milani), Thomas Marini (KTM Silver Action) e Morgan Lesiardo (Team Motocross FMI – TM Ricci Racing). The Bulgarian Michael Ivanov (KTM Silver Action) tries to be insidious but he does not reach to close in the podium. Anyway the Under 17 red leader plate still remains in Tommaso Isdraele Romano (KTM Solarys) hands.

We are waiting for you for the Cahmpionship final round in Montevarchi (AR) next Sunday 16th February.
