Dankers, Mosiman and Dercourt take pole in Jinín
JINÍN (Czech Republic), 10 August 2013 – The Czech track of Jínin hosted the free and qualifying practices today and each category was divided in two groups due to the big number of entries. The best 36 riders were automatically classified for tomorrow’s main races and the rest had to take part in a Last Chance race and only the top four entered the main event tomorrow. The track was very demanding in the beginning of the day because yesterday it had rained a lot, but today the sun was shining and the track became easier and faster for all these young talented riders by the middle of the day.

In 65cc it was Raivo Dankers from the Netherlands who obtained the fastest lap time, while American Michael Mosiman was the fastest in the 85cc class and French Nicolas Dercourt in the 125cc class.

65cc
Max Miller from the USA was the fastest rider of Group A’s qualifying practice clocking the fastest lap at 2:12.490. The second fastest 65cc rider in Group A was home rider Daniel Stehlik, but his lap time was four seconds slower than the American’s. The young promising Spanish rider Oriol Oliver was holding the best second lap time, but with two minutes to go Stehlik made a faster lap and Oliver had to settle down with the third best result. Mykola Moskaluk from Ukraine obtained the fourth best lap time of group B and Swedish Radim Kraus finished in fifth.

In Group B’s qualifying practice Raivo Dankers from the Netherlands did not want too wait too long to make his fastest lap and he was on the top of the classification since the beginning of the session. His best lap time was an impressive 2:09.770 – three seconds faster than the fastest 65cc rider of Group A. Rene Hofer from Austria and Anton Nagy from Sweden exchanged the second position several times, but it was finally the Austrian rider who finished in second with 2:11.190 and the Swedish rider was eventually third with his 2:11.960. The fourth best lap time of Group B was for Aiden Tijero from the USA and Jo Shimoda from Japan was fifth.

85cc
In 85cc Group A there was a big fight for the top five positions; in the beginning of the session it was Jorge Prado from Spain who was holding the best lap time, but after six minutes Kim Savaste from Finland moved up to the first position. A couple of minutes later it was American Mitchell Falk who obtained the fastest lap time and his 2:01.900 stayed at the top of the classification until the end of the session. Home rider Jakub Teresak obtained the second best lap time and American Chase Sexton and Glen Meier were third and fourth, but their times were less than a second behind Falk’s. The fifth best result was for Brazilian Enzo Lopes and Kim Savaste and Jorge Prado were finally sixth and seventh in the qualifying practice.

In group B American Michael Mosiman clocked the fastest lap time of the session in the very last lap of the qualifying practice and he was the only 85cc rider riding under the two minutes, being his fast lap time 1:59.980. His compatriot Sean Cantrell and British Conrad Mewse had been exchanging the first position in the beginning of the session, but in the end the American finished second and the British third. Australian Hunter Lawrence had obtained the second best lap time of the session with five minutes to go, but he then dropped down to the fourth place ahead of Roan Van de Moosdijk from the Netherlands.

125cc
Calvin Vlaanderen from the Netherlands started dominating Group A’s qualifying practice and he obtained the fastest lap time of the group with 1.54.360. Italian Davide Bonini was holding the fifth best lap time but by the middle of the session he moved up to second being one second slower than the Dutch rider. Home rider Martin KRC clinched the third best lap time and Dan Houzet moved up to the fourth place by the middle of the qualifying practice with his 1.56.640 and the 2012 FIM 85cc Junior Motocross World Champion Brian Hsu was fifth.

Group B’s qualifying practice was very exciting since the beginning because Nicolas Dercourt and Jorge Zaragoza exchanged the first position several times. At some point of the qualifying practice it seemed like the Spanish rider was going to finish first, but in the very end of the session the French rider obtained the fastest lap time – 2:53.920 – and Zaragoza ended second of the group. Pauls Jonass from Latvia managed to obtain the third best lap time and Anton Lundgren from Sweden and Thomas Sileika from Latvia were fourth and fifth in Group B.
